1. [+260, -29] Why is it that when singers start individual activities, it is always into actingã… ã… ã… ã… ã…  They are seriously stealing the spots of real actors ã… ã… ã… ã…  Just don't do individual activities, stick together as a group, and practice or release a new album together.

2. [+206, -28] Do they think acting's some joke

3. [+204, -33] Seriously, don't go into acting. I want to watch a real drama for once.

4. [+33, -12] Are they going into acting because they can't sing

5. [+32, -12] Isn't this basically an unofficial disbandment? Hyelim's the only one left in the dust... Hyuna is probably the only member to have made the best decision in this group

6. [+26, -5] To have a girl group that once swallowed up an entire generation be slowly forgotten like this... Is all because of their American advancement. They are JYP's biggest success but also failure.

7. [+24, -7] Hyelim's done ã…‹ã…‹

8. [+14, -0] Without Sunye, the only one in the group that can sing is Yeeun... The rest are.... hmm.....

9. [+13, -3] If JYP had given Sohee the push they're giving Suzy now when she was at the height of her fame, she wouldn't be in such a risky position right now... Sohee and Suzy are both shaky with their acting anyway.

10. [+10, -3] They're all singers and yet not one of them chose singing as their individual activity ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

1. [+553, -30] How do they expect actors to put food on the table anymore

2. [+464, -27] I feel so bad for them... If only they had saved some money in the mean time.. Seems they've crashed all their money and popularity into America

3. [+429, -16] It's a bit late for them to be starting just now... If only Park Jin Young hadn't been so greedy with America

4. [+403, -21] I can see this being better for their fans. Thanks to Sunye's marriage, they can be in Korea more, whereas before, all of them were away in America.

5. [+375, -15] Poor Hyelim ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

6. [+310, -27] So easy for them to switch careers into acting ã…‹ Sad for the rookie actors

7. [+243, -21] They are basically stepping all over the people who have been dreaming of one day becoming an actor while playing supporting roles all their careers... How is this any different from a corporate chain coming in and pushing out a local bakery?

8. [+244, -37] They're starting off with OCN so it's not too bad compared to other idols. At least the JYP kids never caused a nuisance to anyone yet.

9. [+151, -2] Such an easy life for an idol ã…‹ã…‹ Actors can barely make supporting roles after 10 years in the industry but idols just snatch up the leads ã…‹ã…‹

10. [+152, -33] This article reads like we're being updated on the whereabouts of a group after their disbandment

  1. i think it's kinda unfair though to judge Yeeun since she's acting in a Musical...therefore there is singing, no?

  2. so its ok for snsd to act but not for wg?

  4. no one said it's okay. and it's not just WG but IU,Suzy,Seungyeon too. Basically, all idols don't have to acting.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It's not okay for any idol to act these days.

    ReplyDelete
  6. it's okay for anyone to act so long as they get the part by their own means.

    take that as you will.

    ReplyDelete
  7. a lot of idols, most do get hated on for it as it takes away opportunities from other actors, especially rookies, and most find their acting awkward. There's only a few that don't really get hated since they are good at it.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Even though I know k-netizens would give these kind of reactions but it still kind of hurts my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nothing can be saved anymore. I think they just don't give a fuck about netizens comments as long they got the money. Come on, WG is almost dead. Most of the members should find a new jobs to eat some food.

    ReplyDelete
  10. lol ngl they do make a point.. how come none of them is releasing any music?

    ReplyDelete
  11. dont worry...almost all Sm acting idol not just snsd was bashed harder than this...1st yoona and siwon drama w/ low rating,..yunho and minho's stiff and awkward acting + low rating,,,only yuri and sooyoung drama got a discreet rating and praise for her debut act,..so generally acting idols are always bashed by k-netizens,,

  12. I want Yenny to sing or come out with a solo TT

    ReplyDelete
  13. why cant they just do music or a sub unit? :/

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think the title idol should not be specifically under the category of 'singers' anymore. The way things are going, being an idol is like being in pre-school for people who wants to take up serious acting, singing, rapping etc. This is because being an idol is short-termed and it really filters the ones that really can act, sing or whatever from the ones that are really up there just to look pretty/handsome & famous.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Most idol actors from SME have gotten hated on. I honestly feel that the only idol actor who hasn't been hated on (or at least, not that I've seen) is BigBang's TOP. Seriously. Somehow, he got a pass.

    ReplyDelete
  16. few of them actually have long careers even after they go off into acting/singiner/whatever.. I can count the 'successful' first generation idols on one hand .. hyori, eugene, yoon eun hye.. um.. yeah lol

the ones from this generation will probably fade away after a few attempts at solo stuff. there's a reason why these kids get put into idol groups.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Let's not forget that it won't be their first time acting...-_- The members appeared on other shows before they left for America too. And honestly, I don't understand the sudden backlash. O_O Why are people so negative? Why don't you all just wait until the show is out to judge? Stop wasting your time and opinions. <_<

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yup, that's why some of these idols actually 'have it' (like the ones you mentioned ^_^) Being in an idol group isn't actually as long-termed as being a serious singer/actor/actress. The ones that fade away are the ones that don't 'have it'

    ReplyDelete
  19. they are going to have a sub-unit, JYP CEO already announced it

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yuri's acting was horrible, did she really get praise?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeeun acting was pretty bad, worse than IU.

    ReplyDelete
  22. She's not that good, mediocre compared to Bom and Lee hi... Sunye was the best singer in the Wonder girls.

    ReplyDelete
  23. WHO?! Damn it! It better be YeBin.

    ReplyDelete
  24. truth hurts.

WG should give us more music and not pahtetic acting.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wonder Girls without Sunye is cr@p. She was the best singer, dancer and the leader.

JYP said something about solo career and some sub unit but that's it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. LOL are you seriously comparing Bom and Yeeun? Bom who can barely hit high notes and has horrible breath control? Yeeun trumps her every day.

    ReplyDelete
  27. she's acted before or are you referencing her musicial? ah well she can do something more musically than the musical afterwards

    ReplyDelete
  28. you're judging on what, a 3 minute cameo on Dream High? She was the best one in their crappy movie so she has already gained experience. Also, Musical acting is completely different from TV or Movie acting, where the main focus is her voice - she may just fare fine, otherwise she would not have passed the audition

    ReplyDelete
  29. You don't have to hate by bringing other groups into it. That causes drama. Yenny...she's a pretty good singer, not the best but she could do a subunit with someone else from wonder girls.

And I am a Bom Stan but even these days all I can say is her voice is not the same, she's hitting notes her voice can't handle and that causes her to strain it and she gets breathy when she performs. I guess its cause she hates psychical activity lol >.< and Lee Hi isn't that stable either, she has the voice but she needs more practice. If you're going to mention a singer who's completely amazing I would say Ailee...shes so good it hurts. :[

    ReplyDelete
  30. yah..but you know..MEDIA PLAY..k-entertainment love that way to promote their artist..what i mean is dont be surprise thats how k-ent. roll..

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why bring in a rookie who still has to prove herself? How arrogant. Keep gloating about Bom, you'll have nothing to compare her to in two years when she can't sing any more.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It is certainly NOT okay for SNSD. Are you serious!?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yenny, at least, should try and go solo. She's a great singer.

    *shakes fist* JYP YOU DIMWIT.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Maybe they should go to college and become a doctor. Doctors make way more money than washed up idols like WG who can't even sing (except for Yeeun).

    ReplyDelete
  35. There are actors who want to be in musicals that have to go through several rounds of auditions just to get something like a background role, and Yenny gets a main role just because she's in WG.

    Fucked up.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Because Sohee, Lim, and Yubin cannot sing. The group's saving graces are Sunye and Yenny. Yenny is a pretty good singer, but not good enough to cover the other members' inadequacies.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yoon Eun Hye was given massive amounts of shit when she left Baby VOX to become an actress. Especially when she was in Goong, her second drama... the comments being left for her were fucking brutal. After the 8th episode, things started picking up. But she didn't get any real recognition as an actress until Coffee Prince.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Three minutes is definitely more than enough screen time for someone to judge if you're a dead fish on screen or not.

For example, first two minutes of Lee Yeon Hee in Ghost... fucking awful. No expression, no delivery, nothing. She just had this blank face the entire time and I almost stopped watching it because I though her role would be more prominent. She was really lucky she had So Ji Sub as a co-star, tbh.

    ReplyDelete
  39. i understand that but many celebs do musicals and get musical offers all the time. even in different countries.there are other celebs in this one as well....and it's a musical...do you want a normal actress to be in one that can't sing? if it was a regular play or something i'd understand but since it's a MUSICAL...i dont see it as a big deal this time.

    ReplyDelete
  40. that's your opinion, but i'd rather judge with something a little more prominent like a musical or bigger role to judge...if she does suck at acting then maybe she should just stick to it...but i wont judge at this point since i didnt see dream high 2

    ReplyDelete
  41. yubin is not a bad rapper though..she and yeeun couldve done a subunit together..or maybe yubin and sunmi

    ReplyDelete
  42. I never said she was the best singer, I'm just Yenny biased and would like a solo from her, so honestly your comment is sort of irrelevant. I love Bom, and I love Yenny, but I wasn't discussing who was a better singer- Hell, i didn't even say "Yenny is such a good singer!" I SAID I want her to come out with a solo. Why did you bother to comment??

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't mind that idols participate is dramas, but NOT as leads. Idols can be very awkward in their acting, specially when they are pair up with the real actors. They are few idols whom have been able to pull it off, but I agree that rookie actors need the jobs more.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I really want a solo album from Yenny too. Some people here don't seem to understand that having a successful solo career is not about being the best singer. There are SO many examples of this. And it's not like Yenny is a bad singer AT ALL.

I'd like to see what she comes up with since she is interested in creating music and I really like her voice. I like the songs she has composed so far.

  45. No one was complaining when Kyuhyun got lead for his role, twice in a year now?

    ReplyDelete
  46. K-netizens can suck it lol, all they do is complain about everything.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Their weird little tv show didn't get them any fans and the viewer ratings were abysmal. If their ratings are as good as Wonderfuls say they are, WHY ARE THEY NOT IN AMERICA. Most of the one-hour movies on Nickelodeon/Teen Nick are either tie-ins for existing shows or a test run to see if it can be made into a regular series.

    ReplyDelete
  48. well the target market in hiring idols is to sell it internationally at a high price.
so if the international tv networks & fans doesn't complain about the crappy acting, korean drama production will continue to hire idols.
kinda irritating to see NR(no reaction) faces when watching a kdrama.

    ReplyDelete
  49. 8. [+244, -37] They're starting off with OCN so it's not too bad compared to other idols. At least the JYP kids never caused a nuisance to anyone yet.

    Anyone know what OCN means?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Her role is hardly the lead. it's an important character but she is only in five of the "scenes" in the two acts of the play, out of what, 21 scenes?

    ReplyDelete
  51. It's a basic cable network, like TBS or AMC in the US. I think it's supposed to be the highest rated network in Korea because they show a lot of movies and have interesting dramas besides the typical romantic ones.

    ReplyDelete
  52. "Are they going into acting because they can't sing" Yeeun can sing tho

    ReplyDelete
  53. that's fine if you have that opinion, i think she's definitely not as bad as some of there others

I hope it's YubinxYenny subunit. They're the only ones left with some talent and they can bring the sexiness factor. ;P

    ReplyDelete
  55. Word_to_your_MotherFebruary 1, 2013 at 4:44 PM

The best bet for a subunit would be Yenny and Yubin. Yenny obviously for the vocals and Yubin for the rap. For a female idol rapper (and we all know the majority is horrible) yubin is definitely one of the better ones. As for vocals (e.g. Dear. Boy) Yubin has a really nice, interesting tone but all long as she doesn't sing live (lol) I don't think it won't be so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Word_to_your_MotherFebruary 1, 2013 at 4:48 PM

If you mean actual legit rap then no, but if it's idol rap, yeah she's one of the better ones.

Sooyoung showed the only decent acting with Yoona following out of the 4 from SNSD.

  58. I'm not trying to be rude here, really, I like your positivity in some of your comments but aren't you being a hypocrite?

Before when Korean netizens would bash groups that you aren't fond of, such as T-ara, and their fans complained, you would tell the fans that they should respect the opinion of korean netizens and something else along the lines.

But now that they're attacking your bias group, you decide not to respect their opinions?

Yes K-Netizens complain, but so do International fans. Not all K-Netizens complain about everything. It's a shame that they've garnered a reputation like this when international fans do the same exact things.

    ReplyDelete
  59. But for Sohee, it really is not her first time acting. She's acted in a movie before: "I like it hot" and she did well actually. I can't speak for the others, but Sohee has always expressed an interest in acting and even mentioned how she wants to attend a college in America for film-making.

    ReplyDelete
  60. If MBC/SBS/KBS is NBC/ABC/CBS in America then think of OCN as like AMC.

    ReplyDelete
  61. wow... at least branch off to solo albums or something.

    poor lim. ):

    ReplyDelete
  62. well yuri done pretty well too..since her role is darker and full of angst than the 3..

    ReplyDelete
  63. They were offered a TV show development already, so OBVIOUSLY teennick agreed the ratings were good enough. Their movie did not have high ratings, however it had ratings in the range of what teennick usually gets at that timeslot, so idk what you're talking about

    ReplyDelete
  64. i thought yoona's first role was horrible but she was actually quite believable in her Love Rain character. I didn't think the same of Sooyoung's role. It wasn't terrible, but came out as less natural to me.

"Do they think acting's some joke" lolololol

    ReplyDelete
  66. lol What do they expect? I will never blame Sunye as I really love her, but she basically took the decision to get married which forced all other members of WG to stop their activities as group. Losing their leader who is also one of the 2 best singers make it impossible for WG to keep promoting as 4. These 4 girls lost it all, no more US activities (this is not a bad thing though but it's sad considering the years spend there for NOTHING). Again, I don't blame Sunye. but don't bash on WG for trying to save their careers after a sudden change that they didn't control. They can only try what they can... Besides, actors sure need more, but idols don't? WG members have close to NO activities. If they had many things already, I would understand, but these girls do nothing, so where will THEIR money come from? They also need money to live and they also have careers to keep, so why blaming them? Again, nonsense. Besides, Sohee already acted in the past, she acted when she was a child, she acted pre-debut, just after debut, she even consider leaving WG when they were top girl group in 2008, because she wanted to act. She even wanted to study about acting. I don't know about her skills but in her movie in 2007, she did well. She always wanted to act and it started since she's a kid, so I do not care what netizens have to say, WG members have the right to use their last chances to keep a career. I don't want them all to dissapear just because of some netizens. Let's be realistic, Yubin-Sohee-Lim can't have solo careers as singers. As for Lim I don't even know what she is supposed to do, poor girl. Yubin and Sohee have still popularity that can bring them good things, and if they accept and try, it's the best choice they can do to keep their careers. I know netizens will keep hating and bashing, but once Sohee gets a role and finally continue her dream of acting, I will be very happy and support her all the way!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Taecyeon......oh brotha....

    ReplyDelete
  68. K-netizens just keep giving negative comments. Can't they just support each other. By the way, i thought Yenny casted for musical theater, so that related to singing too. Plus that all the idols were trained for singing, dancing and acting for years. So, that wasn't wrong. I do admit that actors spot are a bit shaking with those idols keep taking their spot. But WG wasn't acting much for 5 years.

And i'm really offended with no.5 comment.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yup, that was really hard for her. K-netizens should not just bashing without tolerate i think.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yeah, i really want Yenny and Yubin do the sub-unit together. Thats gonna be cool. I even already make the name, DoubleY. LOL
And i hope that the 2 maknaes Sohee and Hyelim do together too.
    Please JYP, make it incredibly!!
