Ten students in third grade bullied a fellow classmate 'A' (10 years old) for 10 months and were caught once their homeroom teacher discovered a video of the group abusing her on a cellphone.

Her mother wrote on an internet community board: "Since the beginning of the school year, I noticed that my daughter had been acting weird. I had a bad feeling by summertime that I sent a text to her homeroom teacher asking her to look over her. Soon after, however, my child came home with bruises on her limbs and it was only recently that the truth was revealed.

The video was not a video of physical abuse but absolute torture. Despite her pleas not to film her, the students grabbed her by the head and shoved the phone in her face, spraying water over her, punching her back, and forcing her to kneel while they screamed swears at her.

In the video, she desperately clung to a cubby  so that they would not pull her out of the classroom. In another instance, they used the teacher's stick to slap her hands with when she was drawing. The cries of my child asking to be saved still echoes in my head."

According to the parents, the school had refused to show the video to them until the case was reported to the school violence center and they were forced to reveal it.

1. [+3,444, -17] Like America, the government needs to set something up so that the parents are penalized along with the students... Then parents will finally start to care about fostering good character and morals in their children instead of just their grades

2. [+2,625, -9] Kids are so cruel... Imagine how broken the parents must feel.. and how could the school think of hiding the video??

3. [+2,564, -21] The kids and their parents should be thrown in jail together. I really wonder how much longer our country is going to ignore this issue. They're all busy messing around with our tax money.. they're worse than these students.

4. [+116, -1] If they're 3rd grades, they're 10 years old.... they've barely lived 10 years of life, how could they be so cruel? The world's such a scary place

5. [+110, -1] If they're not going to make kids take responsibility for their actions, they should make the parents accountable for them.

6. [+84, -0] Kids acting up at that age is 100% the parent's fault

7. [+79, -2] They should release the identity of the students on the internet, sell the homes of their parents and pay the victim's family, and leave a record on the criminal records of the students

To combat school violence, the Ministry of Education designated the 24th as 'Apple Day' or apology day (2=together, 4=apology), a day where students open up and apologize to each other.

1. [+909, -12] I think this is a great event. I hope they promote more things like this in schools.

2. [+894, -23] Why call it apple day, just call it apology day..

3. [+197, -9] I'm sorry.

4. [+16, -2] Things like this are so important at a young age... No matter how adult-like these children may act, they're still children at heart. They soak up bad things so easily at that age but you give them the opportunity to reflect and they'll fix themselves right up because they're still young.

5. [+9, -2] The picture makes me choke up as well.. Please promote more events like this.
