Jang Gi Ha and Faces and Hyundai Card are starting a new 'blank check music' project where they release their comeback songs for free and people can pay whatever amount they want for it if they like it.
Jang Gi Ha, "We're calling this project the blank check, but we are fully aware that there are a lot of issues with the state of the digital music market in Korea. We feel that through this project, by allowing consumers to choose the price they're willing to pay for music, we'll be able to better understand the problems of the digital music market. The project was first suggested by Hyundai Card Music out of the realization that the market cannot continue at this rate. Something new needs to be done."

1. [+104, -9] The best in the indie scene.
2. [+96, -4] A music site like this should've been out sooner. Melon, Dosirak.. and all those other digital music companies have completely taken over the market and are ripping musicians off by taking over 50% of what they rightfully deserve. They've left artists with nothing else but to resort to selling themselves on variety shows to recover the costs.
3. [+84, -4] This is why I love Jang Gi Ha
4. [+81, -4] It's an amazing idea. People that are going to download the song for free will do so anyway so it's not like it'll affect their sales. Even if it's free, people that normally pay for their music will pay for it if they like it enough, and maybe even at a higher price depending on their satisfaction level. This might actually work out considering how cheap the digital music market is right now.
5. [+68, -2] Buy it at $0, take a listen, and if you like it, pay a dollar or so more and buy it again
6. [+69, -4] I like the idea. People that normally pay will pay and people that download illegally will download for free.
7. [+62, -2] I'm afraid that idols will abuse the system... Their stupid fangirls will buy songs for 10s of 100s of dollars at once.
8. [+57, -4] Any amount of money wouldn't be wasted on Jang Gi Ha's songs
9. [+37, -4] I don't know if such a concept could work in this country. Koreans love their free stuff.
10. [+30, -0] Radiohead already tried this. Their 7th album digital sales rivaled the total of all their other albums' digital sales. Their distributors were in complete shock. Someone in Korea needed to flip the system with something like this and I'm glad that it's Jang Gi Ha that's doing it.
11. [+30, -1] It's a great idea. I really felt sorry paying only 10 cents for such a great song like Primary's.
