LOL. She was not tricked by someone on the Internet. In fact, that's not even the story that CCM came up with either. Here's what happened:
ReplyDelete1. Video gets circulated of a girl dancing and taking her clothes off in front of a web camera. The video is about 35 minutes long and the girl is also cursing/talking shit. She's not talking TO anyone, she's just running a narrative. Walks out of the room. Back into the room. And starts dancing "sexy" and taking her clothes off until she's only wearing panties and a camisole.
2. Netizens look at it and realize that the girl in the video looks very much like Jiyeon (without make up of course). The eyes are a dead giveaway.
3. CCM releases a statement saying that they "checked with Jiyeon" and Jiyeon said that the girl in the video is not her, but a lookalike. They released a statement saying that they were working with the police to bring the truth to light... but it's been 2 years. So far... nothing.
Which is odd, considering how efficiently Korea's police force dug up the true identity of the people behind Tajinyo. So it's not like they're incompetent in any way.

I volunteer with a couple of Korean transfer students who went to school near Seoul and they told me that over there, most of the general public really don't care about the personal lives of idols. Though scandals are scandals, they aren't big enough that the public gives a shit. They said most people are too busy with studying or work to really care about those things and look down at K-Pop fans the same way here in America we would look at Beliebers or One Directioners.

Like Kang Ho Dong and his tax evasion, Daesung's accident, GD's marijuana, Nichkhun's accident, Block B in Thailand, etc. etc. None of which have anything to do with personal/romantic relationships.
The only scandal about a celebrity's personal I can think of that was a REALLY big deal was Seo Taiji's secret marriage, but it's because he's just THAT famous... And the circumstances were pretty extraordinary.
