It's so obvious they're going to start dumping in all of their idols in dramas and varieties with those top actors. All of the broadcast companies, music shows, dramas, and even variety shows now will be catering to SM's whims.

ReplyDeleteeh I admit I'm excited about this because I love Changmin, but SM are really making it obvious about what they are trying to do, it's like they have finally realised that the income they make off of idols won't last and are trying to branch out for when that time comes.

ReplyDeleteUgh I was watching SM Town Come To Play, the ep where SNSD FX SUJU and Changmin came after the SM Concert in Paris. Changmin really has no variety skills. He probably spoke for two minutes the whole 1 hour ep. What the heck are the producers doing letting him MC with KHD....
ReplyDeleteI get that Kwanghee was able to get a spot with KHD even though he is not as stable and just starting a rise in fame, but at least he is FUNNY. Changmin, don't be the reason the show slumps.
Changmin is witty though, so maybe he'll do well. Buy yeah, SM's intention are pretty obvious.

ReplyDeleteJYJ are funny guys, they are witty too according to some old variety shows or just their interviews as JYJ. While Changmin, although not hilarious type but he is a witty one. Who knows he'll be a good MC? Not as hilarious as JYJ maybe, but not bad either? We'll just have to wait and see.
And how I hope JYJ members can be MC too, especially the unpredictable Jaejoong. Even Yoo Jae Suk likes him very much.

Some fans say they don't care, but they come to every TVXQ article and they write irrelevant hate comments and thumb them up, or they thumb down any positive comments about them, lol. ReplyDeletetsk tsk seems that everyone has something to complain when it comes to Yunho or Changmin, personally I'm happy SM chose Changmin because i always wondered how suju can be MCs and have appearances in variety and radio shows and TVXQ not, anyways, i hope Changmin will do a good job, i think his personality fits with Kang Ho Dong and I hope they 2 will make a hilarious and enjoyable show together.

ReplyDeleteI'm actually kinda disappointed with this decision. I'd rather have him do solo album or something. TVXQ doing fixed variety show is like some kind of downgrade, SME's just trying too hard and TVXQ doesn't even need this.
All the hate seem to stem from the fact that Korean netizens generally hate SM. But I bet he'll do fine. Korean netizen opinions =/= general public opinion anyway. International fans are generally positive and very excited for this. I can't wait to see him in variety.

ReplyDeleteSay whatever u want about SM artists, they r way better imo than any other companies artists. They love their fans, they respect others (junior or senior), they stay out of trouble, their teamwork, sisterhood/brotherhood is in top notch, they love what they doing and the best part is they are known for working their asses off. People always say how SM mistreat their idols by push them to the limit, even till they break. but that is what success is all about. Trust me, they will continue to succeed even if they r no longer with SM.
ReplyDeleteYou don't know too much about Changmin, do you. He didn't even want to become an idol lol, he was just scouted and his mom dragged him to the audition (she was more excited than him) and then he apparently gave sang a lifeless army chant and still made it in. His entire pre-debut life was a lot easier than say, Yunho's, and he (and Junsu) were never in danger of being cut (SME is lucky he actually turned out pretty talented lol). That's why he was so quiet when DBSK debuted and let the hyungs take over because he wasn't prepared at how hard it actually was since pretty much his life until then had been smooth sailing. Remember that pic when he was like 16-17 and the stalker fans decided to follow him around crowded him so he sat in the middle of the street and started to cry?
ReplyDeleteHe's more out of his shell now but he also says that while he enjoys making music if he could go back in time he probably wouldn't have gone to the audition and that he wouldn't encourage his kid to join the idol business. Anyway his sense of humor isn't Korean variety-sense (clap and stand up and point a la Leeteuk lol which is why I can't understand why the JYJ fans here are saying that JYJ are funny because iirc they just clapped and stood up and pointed a lot too), he's snarky like Kyuhyun.

ReplyDeletePersonally, I love performing, but I actually hate being the center of attention. Sounds somewhat contradictory, but not when you're a part of an ensemble. In a group, it's quite easy to not get a ton of attention. I mean, you hear news about idols wanting more attention all the time because someone else in their group is more popular. I'm quite convinced Changmin's like this as well.
What and other companies' artists don't do all of that?
