Just look at Ailee... I knew that Immortal Song helps her a lot in getting the recognition from public people..... that's what rookie should do... appear and promote yourself more in shows... idk if busker busker always appear in shows or not but since they're more on indie style, I assume they're perhaps have more gigs to promote themselves? that just how it should've been done... promote yourself more, then, the recognition will be given to you ^^

ReplyDeleteWell, Lee Hi is doing great as rookie too, not as great as Busker2 indeed , but within the FEMALE , She did the best out of the others. That's a known fact. Her first 4 weeks DAs is more than both of Ailee songs, but I do agree that it is too soon for her to receive the rookie award though.
ReplyDeleteSince she is only around for few months , unlike Ailee who has been promoting very well in the long whole year. And it is quite amazing already if you compare the debut of the 3 Kpop star finalists . see how Ayeon and Ji min were underwhelmed , but Lee Hi managed to do this well. I'm glad and satisfied enough.
Hope YG and Osen stop doing Media play on her success anyway. Too much can be very annoying.
Her voice is interesting but she lacks a lot on the technical side, especially compared to Ailee, whose only fault is her lack of lower register. Hayi's Scarecrow put me to sleep. She also has zero stage presence, frankly she seems more like a bts singer. I'm sure YG will drop her like he dropped Gummy when the hype dies down. YG just sucks at promoting multiple acts, look at 2ne1.

Like the other day, netizens call out YG on media play over lee hi several articles, when she actually was the talk of the town for a month, setting rookie records everywhere. I admit YG media play where it is, and not only YG use it, even your favourite group' company does it, but i smell some butthurtness...
And lol, over the "now i'm starting disliking her" "don't understand why she's popular?" blablabla... She have been N°1 for almost a month, if she was really that bad or uninteresting or boring, people wouldn't have care for her, YG or not. 1234 was a good song, or at least "original" in the kpop world, hence the interest and love.
Ailee was exactly like hayi. She blown up popularity on her first single heaven, and she would have been the first rookie to win awards if bigbang wasn't coming back at that time. Even if she wasn't in a big company like YG, she did programs before her debut, and people were really anticipating for her. She was not a rookie coming out from nowhere and becoming popular just like that. I think her cover of "Halo" put the same impact on her popularity as Hayi' cover of "For You".
I do think for this year Ailee deserve the rookie award, but really, if hayi came out earlier, both would have been legit winners.

ReplyDeleteI don't really think it's ABOUT her though. I have no idea what type of personality she has, nor do I care. I just like the song. Because the song broke all types of records, people are questioning whether she should've been nominated for MAMA.
But when you sing you should have personality, that's what makes it unique and give its life. No one wants to sit there and watch someone stare blank-faced at the camera and sing with minimal emotion. That's bullshit. A singer is supposed to show that they feel the song and convey emotion through both their voice and their face.

@Anonymous, there's a difference between the media voluntarily writing about things and being swayed by companies desperate to brag about their artists. Every company is guilty of media play but SM certainly doesn't do it the most. We would know.
