'Parasite' treated like a hot potato due to Lee Sun Gyun's scandal during Bong Joon Ho's anniversary event in theaters

[+925] I mean, he committed his crime as an individual, and I don't care if people choose to hate on him from here on out, but his crime should not be connected to this movie when it has nothing to do with the movie at all. I understand excluding him from any future awards this movie might earn but it's unfair to exclude the movie itself from special events like this all because of him.. It's like... if a student from a certain top 10 college committed a crime so now that school is no longer considered a top 10 school. Makes no sense.

[+523] This is a movie that cannot be left out of Bong Joon Ho's career, what a mess.. I really looked forward to seeing Bong Joon Ho in theaters 🥹

[+152] He's the one who did the drugs so why is someone else being punished for his crime?

[+355] What a nuisance~ look at all these people who have to suffer because of his crimes;;;; just look at how his career, all the honor he's built up, crumble like this... I sincerely hope he's kicked out for good.

[+46] Wish we'd learn to separate the artist from his craft better...

[+151] Such a mess...

[+43] I understand that he's a cast member but shouldn't we view these as separate from him...? Why are we punishing everyone for one's crime? Unless there's something wrong with the movie itself, it should not be excluded from things like this because of one actor in it.

[+54] I think it's better to set a precedent that actors with history of drug abuse will not be allowed on TV at all... We've seen a pattern of celebrities commit crimes and wait out some time before crawling back out again, and that can't be allowed to happen.

[+16] Kind of annoyed with Lotte... his drug scandal is his drug scandal, the movie is a separate thing...

[+4] By Korean logic, there would be no American movies allowed in Korea at all then, since most of the actors in Hollywood have a history of drug abuse like 'Iron Man'

[+3] Poor director

[+12] So many are being affected by this

[+1] But if Lotte did play it in theaters, people would complain about that too?
