South Korea fails to make it on safest countries to travel list

1. [+388, -9] ㅋㅋㅋ Well, with North Korea constantly threatening to shoot nukes at us... ㅋㅋㅋㅋ and being a country in an armistice ㅋㅋ and with Seoul and North Korea only being one hour apart
2. [+372, -9] Well, we're in an armistice.. the war is not over, why would anyone consider our country safe? I'm sure we'd be excluded from most safe country lists.
3. [+329, -51] The systems within our society are safe but not necessarily our people. We're one of the few countries in the world where a woman can drink late at night and get home safely, but there are still dangerous crimes that occur within personal relations like stalking, murder, etc.
4. [+23, -5] Why would any list consider our country safe when we've been divided through war? I know as Koreans that we've become accustomed to the threat of the North all our lives but I'm sure foreigners think it's crazy that the North is constantly throwing threats at us~
5. [+17, -5] We have some national tragedies once in a while, but I'd say our safety on the smaller scale is top-level when it comes to crimes like theft and whatnot.
6. [+10, -1] It's just that Koreans don't have guns, but we're just as violent as any other country verbally and in the crimes and scams we commit against each other. There are sayings among foreigners to keep away from Koreans.

8. [+8, -1] Koreans don't steal because of all the CCTVs around us. I bet if you took away the CCTVs, there'd be way more theft all around.

11. [+5, -1] How can we expect to make these safety ratings in a country where 150 died in the middle of Seoul and with no apology or responsibility to show for it??
