Irene embroiled in another 'staff abuse' controversy

Video: Irene spotted with 'real friend' staff member at the airport under controversy (she's still abusive vs this is forced)

1. [+104] They should not have called the staff a 'real friend' at all ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+82] At least SM's trying to bury her abusive image at whatever costs

3. [+74] But aren't luggage normally all pushed by one person like this anyway? It'd be funny if she tried to help her ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

4. [+62] Even if the staff is her 'real friend', isn't it the staff's job to handle the luggage...?

5. [+26] Yeah, I don't think it was in SM's best interest to call the staff her 'real friend' but I do think this controversy doesn't warrant an entire controversy about her character. I think it's a staff's job to handle luggage for the idol. If you look at celebrity photos at the airport, it's rare to find any of them handling their own luggage. Sure, we can speculate all day about how much help was involved or whether something was intentional but I think it's too hasty to determine someone's character based off of one photo like this.

6. [+40] This is why image is so important... Even if whatever people are assuming from this photo isn't true, she has an image that she's already built up of being abusive and that will impact people's judgment of her

7. [+29] Why is this controversial? Have none of you ever gone on vacation with your friends? When you're with your friends, it's whoever gets to the luggage first that ends up pushing it around. I'm not an SM fan or anything, I actually hate SM, but I think this controversy is completely out of hand. Haters just want to hate. Irene could be the one pushing the luggage in this photo and haters will be like "oh, she's putting on an act, she's so fake". I hope that people don't get too swept up in all of this stuff. When I'm on vacation with friends, we don't really care who pushes the luggage, and sometimes it'll be me, and sometimes it'll be them. I don't get why this is controversial at all.

8. [+15] When idols or celebrities are seen pushing their own luggage, people will be like "what's their agency doing?! where's their staff?!" but when it's Irene, people are quick to accuse her of being abusive. And this whole controversy came out of a women's community that is full of psychos who use anonymity to hate on idols.

9. [+28] I think it's the staff's job to handle the luggage. However, it's wrong for SM to claim that she was out with her 'real friend' staff member.. It'd be more PR friendly to just say she attended something with a staff in tow. She's not being abusive but the situation they're trying to draw is different from reality. The staff was there to work but SM is trying to media play it as if she was on vacation with her staff, which is deceitful to the viewers.

10. [+17] I don't think this would be as controversial if SM never said she was a 'real friend' because it's normal for staff to handle this stuff

11. [+28] Sigh, I wonder how abusive she was this time, tsk tsk

12. [+9] It's not like Irene's the only one who does this ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ don't all celebrities have staff members carry their stuff for them??

13. [+14] Well just because she's a 'real friend' with a celebrity doesn't mean she's not obligated to do her job as a staff member. I don't get how you can accuse Irene of being abusive when her staff member is just doing their job ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ being her friend doesn't absolve her of her responsibilities

14. [+92] Irene's image is already cemented with the public. No matter what she does, people will see her for her past. You reap what you sow.

15. [+1] What do they mean by 'real friend'? That they're very close? Then I don't think it's right to treat your friend like your personal slave while on vacation like this.

16. [+48] Honestly, I don't see a difference between school bullies and power abusers like her ㅋㅋ

17. [+46] And she's always crawling back out with her thick skin. Trying so hard to clean up her image, it's disgusting.

18. [+22] She's 32 now, isn't she? Not much time left for her in the industry anyway.

19. [+9] This controversy is so forced ㅋㅋㅋ

20. [+4] ?? I don't know what people expected her to do. Push the luggage with her? ㅋㅋㅋ This is the staff's job... she's being paid to push that ㅋㅋㅋㅋ People are trying to force this so hard.

21. [+20] Why even call her your 'real friend' if you're just going to make her push your stuff.. the weird media play is getting her more hate in the end

22. [+33] As the saying goes, people never change...

23. [+17] So does Irene call all her slaves her 'real friends'? ㅎㅎㅎㅎ

24. [+56] Working real hard at trying to clean up her image

25. [+147] Do people really think people like her can change ㅋㅋㅋ? They only act like they do.

1. [+339] It feels unfair just to view every single thing she does as abusive just because she did it in the past... It's probably best not to make hasty judgments without knowing the exact situation.

2. [+133] This is such a joke

3. [+85] But how are you supposed to push a luggage cart together..?

4. [+51] That staff is paid to do this kind of work.. it's not like they were on vacation together

5. [+46] Leave her alone; -.-

6. [+275] The point of hiring staff is for them to help you and do what you ask them to...

7. [+158] The staff is just doing the job that they're being paid to do

8. [+18] A luggage cart is only meant to be pushed by one person unless you're a Siamese twin

9. [+107] Only one person is supposed to push that. I'd consider it abusive if one staff was carrying all of their luggages but it's all loaded on a cart. It'd be weird for both of them to be pushing it together ㅋㅋㅋ

10. [+2] I don't think people will be satisfied unless Irene is pushing the cart with the staff member sitting on top of it too
