International BTS fans express frustration with Big Hit's lack of translation services

Article: Big Hit taking voluntary translations for granted? International Armies angry at Bang Shi Hyuk

Source: The Fact via Nate

1. [+271, -18] Come on, Big Hit, translate things for them. It would only cost 30-50k a year to employ a translator for a year, why are you letting international Armies down like this?? Having official English subtitles would open the doors for more international fans to join... Stop focusing so much on releasing new merch and get this service for them. It's needed for TV appearances too, no?

2. [+236, -8] Paid content should most definitely be translated for them. With their career advancing globally by the day, it's something that should've been done already. It's not even that hard so I don't know why Big Hit keeps delaying it.

3. [+182, -10] Honestly, Big Hit is really stingy with the translations. Every time a BTS TV video goes up, there are never any subtitles so foreign Armies have to watch through tears. I've read so many negative comments about how there aren't any subtitles. I feel so bad for them.

4. [+22, -2] But fans of other foreign artists translate the lyrics themselves too

5. [+20, -2] I support Big Hit on this. Whenever I watch videos of foreign artists, there are never any Korean subtitles. The Korean fans have to voluntarily do it themselves, right? So why should we offer subtitles for free? I think foreign celebrities purposely do it since fans will naturally take an interest in their culture and language as well.

6. [+17, -0] When have we ever seen a foreign artist provide translation services? This is Korean content, and translations should be a choice, not a necessity.

7. [+12, -4] Have you ever seen English speaking celebrities provide translation services? This is such a ridiculous request..

8. [+11, -2] As if Hollywood or other foreign pop artists provide Korean translations for us. Why should we do it for them? If you like them so much, translate it yourself ㅡㅡ

9. [+3, -1] Bang Shi Hyuk-ssi, let's not lose our roots. Let's be more humble. You know how tough it is in your industry.

10. [+2, -0] On the rare occasion that there were subtitles, I noticed that the translations were all wrong so I asked someone who works in the industry and they said that Big Hit pays an abysmal amount for translation services. I don't know why Big Hit is being so stingy here. Asking fans for voluntary translations makes sense when they're still growing but they're global stars now thanks to the Armies. They should at least pay that effort back with some basic necessities like translations.
