1. [+404, -8] Then apply the same law to politicians too

2. [+320, -12] Politicians should start by firing all of their own people with criminal histories before sticking their nose anywhere else

3. [+193, -16] Why would this be controversial? I think it's perfectly normal

4. [+22, -2] I'm in complete support of this, I hope this law passes

5. [+21, -2] Even non-celebrities struggle with employment if they have a criminal record, the same standards should be applied to celebrities and politicians too

6. [+20, -4] But it makes sense

7. [+16, -2] Then add politicians too

8. [+12, -7] Why is Lee Soo Geun's picture the only one being used for these articles? He's not the only celebrity with a criminal past.

9. [+8, -2] I support this

10. [+5, -0] Not having a criminal history should be the norm. The fact that this is considered controversial must mean there are a lot of celebrities with such histories? And if so, then that's the real problem here.

11. [+5, -0] It should've been this way from the start, this law is being talked about way too late. How can you have criminals on TV??? And yes, apply this to politicians and public service jobs as well.

12. [+4, -0] I doubt this will get passed because there are elements of it that violate the constitution with legal principles like retroactivity and double jeopardy. A celebrity's job is basically up at stake with whether viewers want to see them or not. It doesn't make sense to legally cut their jobs off.
