4. [+51, -9] Such a dumb and stupid thing to say

5. [+43, -6] You can really tell he's got a temper judging by the way he talks, no charm in that

6. [+36, -2] This is why people say don't do SNS ㅋㅋㅋ for a kid who has to live off of his popularity, what will his fans think seeing him talk like that to one

7. [+31, -2] He's right and all but what's up with his attitude and his spelling is all off... he should be in his mid-late twenties but he talks like some iljin high schooler ㅋㅋㅋ

8. [+29, -3] Dug his own grave... bye to you too. I tried to feel bad for him because of his agency but yeah, I'll say bye here yup.

2. [+3,422, -301] Now I know why his CEO said he did what he wanted judging by his manner of speech on Twitter

3. [+1,081, -93] Whether they're dating or not, Hongki's reaction is so immature. He's not a high schooler anymore.

4. [+590, -34] He's not wrong but that's still his fan and he's way too direct with her

5. [+584, -30] He talks like he's still in junior high... sigh

  2. But knowing hongki, he'll say what he wants. Hahahaha if he can go against his ceo, what more a mere random people on twitter

    ReplyDelete
  3. but the fans who get mad at their oppars for dating are pathetic

    ReplyDelete
  4. 2. [+264, -9] Basically saying screw off if you don't like me b*tch

    I'm starting to like him.

    ReplyDelete
  5. He's basically saying that that fan is being delusional for getting mad over him dating and he's right. He's a stranger to that fan and any other fan who's getting butthurt too. Good for him for telling it like it is.

    ReplyDelete
  6. 1. Didn't he say he wasn't dating her
    2. Those fangirls invested a shitton of money on him. You don't have to accept the shit they say but don't mess around LOL

    ReplyDelete
  7. I wish more idols could be like that actually...need to be straight with fans instead of acting like they're their girlfriends or something lol

    ReplyDelete
  8. He's got a backbone.

    ReplyDelete
  9. it's always 2010 in kpop fandom

    ReplyDelete
  10. I've started to wonder if delusional fans see their idols as beings with no sexual or romantic urges whatsoever who needs to serve thousand strangers who they don't even know

    ReplyDelete
  11. i understand his frustration but he probably crushed that girl with his response....

    ReplyDelete
  12. HAHAHA...straight up! That fan was in the wrong so im glad he told them that, it can be seen as rude but i agree with what he said for the most part!

    ReplyDelete
  13. take that delulu fangirl!

    ReplyDelete
  14. That was pretty rude indeed :(

I like this knet comment actually

"Idols didn't ask you guys to like them"? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Well, they are. Look
how they throw hearts, say cringe-worthy things, and cry. They know
exactly what they're getting themselves into and they want people to
like them. To idols, fandoms are money. Honestly, light fans don't bring
money. Fans spend their money and make them stable, is it wrong to ask
them to not ruin their delusion? If they want to openly date, then they
should debut as artists instead of idols. Idols' way of marketing is
imaginary boyfriends, so it's an unfair trade if they openly date

    ReplyDelete
  15. They are not real fans if they leave a celebrity for who they are dating. Get the fuck outta here you stalking-delusional bitches, good riddance.

    ReplyDelete
  16. unless something about the words he chose imply rudeness, sounds like something that gets a thumbs up from me. fans need to look at idols less like weird surrogate boyfriends/girlfriends and more like people.

    ReplyDelete
  17. fanservice = more fans = more money

but you're right. the amount of delusional fans out there is scary........

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree with the point he was trying to make but he worded it pretty harshly. There's nicer ways to say this

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well, he isn't wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    ReplyDelete
  20. well tbh I've been waiting for idols to say such things directly to their delulu fans.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have no issue with him dating, but something about that tweet rubs me the wrong way. I like idols to be more polite, I guess. Well, Hongki's always been blunt and outspoken though, so it's not a surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Pretty sure Hongki responded like that after getting tons of similar tweets. Basically, he just snapped.

    ReplyDelete
  23. This what exactly fangirls need to hear from their oppas tho. The truth is bitter yep!

    ReplyDelete
  24. knetz response is disappointing.... pls idols don't need delusional fans like that... sure they're the ones who are willing the spend tons of money etc but if it's me, i rather not have this kind of fan

    ReplyDelete
  25. He's just expressing himself , nothing wrong with it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. But it's true? Knetz can't accept the truth lmao

Or all delulu fans for that matter

    ReplyDelete
  27. yeah when you deal with things like this you almost have to think of it as rejecting someone's confession... you have to do it firmly but gently at the same time... not this harshly...

    ReplyDelete
  28. maybe in english trans souns okay but in korean it can sounds rude (?,you know? anyhow, i understand what he said, we shouldnt lile idols like boyfriends

    ReplyDelete
  29. Agreed. Plus he did sound rude

    ReplyDelete
  30. i think it's more rude to look down on someone because they might, you know, date. you can't dictate the lives of other people.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You're going to get a lot of hate for this, but you are right. These groups strive off of having fan girls eat up everything they do, so it's kind of funny that Hongki can be so confident and telling them to fuck off after they spent their money on him.

He really could've worded it better.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wake up girl, oppa doesn't like you

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tell 'em Hongki! 👍

    ReplyDelete
  34. He have said time and time again. Those who stayed are the real fans of their music. Bye to delulu fans he don't want them

    ReplyDelete
  35. Pretty sure he didn't mean to direct it to that one specific fan...it's like it was bottled up then he just said "screw it" and blew up on someone. But there are ways to defuse a situation that don't end up making you look like an ass. Be nice and be like, "Yo, we ain't dating...but even if we were, I'd hope ya'll support me". Something in those lines lol~

    ReplyDelete
  36. lmao, all those angry people at him for being real... Hongki, you're da man!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hongki has always been the type to be very genuine with his words.

    ReplyDelete
  38. he's honestly being a hypocrite lol.... like someone who got popular off of being an idol but then says that idols aren't true artists...

    ReplyDelete
  39. The typing though.... It might look okay to us but it probably is the equivalent of some twit typing back in the days lol.

    ReplyDelete
  40. he's being real tho. fans shouldn't be upset over dating scandal. it's not that he hinted anything or pulled a sungmin.

    ReplyDelete
  41. To be honest, he doesnt give two shits of what you think about him. He's in it for the music. If fans leave you over a dating scandal, they weren't fans to begin with.

    ReplyDelete
  42. LOL...would they rather he sucks up to the fans and pretend he is their boyfriend? They must not have known him very long.

    ReplyDelete
  43. where did you get this comment i must knowww lol

    ReplyDelete
  44. I actually like the fact that delusional fangirls - who think they can get near oppas' **** - get out of the fandom. Sure, they're very dedicated fans but they're such an embarrassment most of the time & they can harm girls around him.

    ReplyDelete
  45. "He's in it for the music"

kind of a ridiculous statement because his "music group" has been promoted as cute flower boys to fan girls all these years. he's in it for the money, and where does all the profit come from???? lol

    ReplyDelete
  46. http://kpopkfans.blogspot.com/2015/04/thoughts-on-idols-relationships.html

    ReplyDelete
  47. Uh he never said idols aren't true artists before tho????

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lmao yassss Hongki! Drag ha!

    ReplyDelete
  49. u go man! those delusional fans who always think they own their idols need to wake up!

    ReplyDelete
  50. To be fair, it's true that he's been saying he's not the fans boyfriend for a long time.

Regardless, he should really be more careful of his words.

    ReplyDelete
  51. but who feeds these delusions? their agencies.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I like what he's trying to say, just not really fond of how he said it. He should have put a little more thought in the tweet since he's an idol and he knows how overly sensitive netizens are.

    ReplyDelete
  53. laughing at the whole situation.

    ReplyDelete
  54. We don't know what the fan tweeted him. It may be something hurtful?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Where have you seen FTI promoted as cute flower boys?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah but his wording really does sound immature with a lot of ㅋㅋㅋ

    ReplyDelete
  57. and he wanted to put an end to it... Good for him and any other idol who trace the line.

    ReplyDelete
  58. i'm on the fence with this one

    ReplyDelete
  59. im pretty sure most of our fave idols feel this way but dont say it outwardly. sad but probably true

    ReplyDelete
  60. Well Hongki doesn't do that so this doesn't really apply to him does it? He's been dating for years and it's been mentioned on other shows before.

    ReplyDelete
  61. He better be careful or he wont be able to afford to get his nails done😉

    ReplyDelete
  62. Oh I don't know...

    http://www.showasia.ru/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/200811132335211.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  63. Fans are so sensitive. But Non-fans are more sensitive.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I don't see what's wrong with what he said, yeah he sounds a bit stupid but his point is not a bad one.

    ReplyDelete
  65. This is the real Hongki. Innocent cute face, but straightforward statement. I like him for being real. But I surely hope this doesn't effect their awesome comeback, and my precious band.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The english equivalent is basically saying lol lol lol after each statement. He could've said if you don't like me for this then don't but he threw it a bunch of lols for whatever reason.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Shud ask advise from Sunggyu how to friendzone fans, Inspirit been chill and accepting the truth since 2010 lol

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sounds like he lost his temper. He's got a right to do that but he should have been more careful, once he hit tweet that message is forever out in the internet and he's going to get a reputation as someone who snaps at his fans.

    ReplyDelete
  69. He didn't do anything wrong. But I can see why it might be totally confidence crushing for a teenage fan who desperately wants to believe oppa could fall in love with her beautiful eyes or her kind personality, only to find out he likes gorgeous busty foreign girls like every other young guy. Your average acne-riddled, unglamorous teenage fangirl can't compete and that can be painful when you're still young.

    ReplyDelete
  70. i'm sure he gets a bunch of hateful tweets/comments every day... if that was the case then he should have ignored it.

    ReplyDelete
  71. [+43, -6] You can really tell he's got a temper judging by the way he talks, no charm in that

i like Hongki and I think he is very talented but this ^ cant deny that

    ReplyDelete
  72. How some fans shield it as him being real...there's being real and then there's being rude or a complete ass. At least have some class to reply, dont go down to delulu fans level. Grow up a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  73. an end to it after years rolling in the money fangirls having been throwing at him? lol

i don't care that he's dating but he should've approached it to his fans a little better. telling them to go away if they don't like it isn't very mature.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I mean........idk im torn. Glad that he's put out there that a fan that leaves him just cause he may have a girlfriend is a fan he doesn't need but at the same time i am disappointed in the rude nature in which he did it. She's delu, agreed but she is someone who has supported his career none the less and is one of millions of people who has gotten him where he is now. He could have been a bit more gentle with his delivery as some other idols or artists have done. Unfortunately because he has people saying YAS tell that B**** and has made a name for himself as a blunt person, he has totally disregarded how his words could have made this fan feel.

  75. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingApril 10, 2015 at 11:51 PM

Although fans are in the wrong for believing that he can't date it's understandable that they are sad and/or disappointed. But it shouldn't be to the point where they hate him for it. He's right for criticizing the fans for hating on him for dating, but he should be more sympathetic to the fans that are sad that's he dating.

You may think they're delusional but it's completely normal for someone to be sad to find out that the celebrity they like is gay or in a relationship. That's just human. The delusional ones are the ones who get angry at the celebrity for it, stop being their fan altogether, or say that the celebrity "isn't allowed to date". Hongki handled it rather immaturely and insensitively, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  76. sunny bunny (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)April 10, 2015 at 11:53 PM

so is it true that he's dating her?? lol more people should be upfront like this. fans need to face the reality that they don't have a chance with these celebs and let them date freely. but at the same time i feel like he could have gone about this in a more mature way

    ReplyDelete
  77. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingApril 10, 2015 at 11:53 PM

He's right about criticizing the delusional fans but this is insensitive towards the fans who are only sad about him dating and still support him as a fan. It's understandable for fan's to be sad when they find out a celebrity they like/admire is dating. He's incredibly insensitive to criticize fans who feel that way. But he's completely right to say what he did towards the fans who hate him for it and think that he can't date. He handled this immaturely and insensitively.

    ReplyDelete
  78. tbh for me and in korean(compared to the eng trans) this sounds very rude ... yes he has the right to voice out and he has a point but he could've did this rejecting thing more gently and carefully chose his words.. he's an idol afterall and he knows how sensitive fans are but this is too harsh...

    ReplyDelete
  79. The way he said it make him look like he dont need his fans anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Alright I get your point now. But the thing is he did acknowledge how he was grateful that the 'idol' status brought him and the band more exposure etc but now he just wants to do the music he wants and open up the rock scene in korea. He looks up to 30 seconds to Mars etc. He don't want to be in a band and be liked for the looks. He now wants to be liked for the music.

    ReplyDelete
  81. well he does make money off his fans... there are nicer ways to say things like this or just ignore it because there will always be immature fans and things that celebs say always get put in the spotlight.

    ReplyDelete
  82. In a position like his though its never wise to simply tell it like it is to a fan. not without wording it correctly. I agree with the sentiment, but not with the way it was communicated.

    ReplyDelete
  83. he direct mentioned and replied to the one person tho.

    ReplyDelete
  84. This guy is so unlikeable

    ReplyDelete
  85. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingApril 10, 2015 at 11:55 PM

A lot of fans are emotionally manipulated into believing that idols love them and their hearts belong to them. A majority of these fans are young teen's/preteens, and in Korea they actually get close to their idols on a more personal level. Its understandable for them to feel sad when they find out the idol is dating. Hongki is insensitive towards their sadness.

But what he says is right towards the delusional fans that are angry at him and feel that he can't date.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Flowers boys at the beginning of their career. Hardly now. And what musician doesnt make a profit from those who listen to their music? Do musicians make music just for the hell of it? His point is dont make him out to be a oppa that's going to be there for you when all he's here for is to make music for you. Not his fault that you're going to be delulu about it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I wonder what the fan said through. They deactivated their account. I think he should have just made it a general statement instead of directing it to just that one person.

    ReplyDelete
  88. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingApril 10, 2015 at 11:57 PM

But they're not. These fans are emotionally manipulated into believing their idols love them personally. Of course they're going to feel sad that their idol is dating. It's insensitive to look down at them for being upset. It's perfectly normal. They do not feel that their idol can't date. They're just sad.

The only ones who should be criticized are the delusional fans who hate on idols who date and try to claim their idols by telling them "they're not allowed to date". You need to separate delusional from normal fans and have more sympathy for people.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sad he was raising again bc his fans were defending voting and buying his album look at him shaming them in public he at least should keep silent :/

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thought that too, one doesn't direct message someone unless they caught their attention, also Hongki might be silly at times but I don't think we would risk losing fans with this kind of behaviour.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Oh so they are promoted as flower boys for all this time up until recently, gained a huge fandom, and suddenly they aren't about that life anymore so they can tell their fans to fuck off if they don't like it?

    come on.

their agency promoted FT Island as idols to gain dedicated fans, and these fans spend a ton of money on them. He should have a little bit of respect and express his feelings about his relationship to his fans in a civil way.

    ReplyDelete
  92. His iljin attitude cant stop 100%

    ReplyDelete
  93. ahh, i had a feeling the original korean ver. of what he said was harsh..
    is it really bad?

    ReplyDelete
  94. I really have to agree with you on this one. they spend so much more time promoting these idols as objects of affection and admiration as opposed to promoting them as what they want to be known as (musicians/artists) and the love that the fans have for them is misplaced as a result. causing such incidents.

    ReplyDelete
  95. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingApril 11, 2015 at 12:03 AM

Oh honey, they're the group that started the whole idol flower boy image.

    ReplyDelete
  96. if you're mad at hong ki in anyway, you just have a guilty conscience. he didn't word it harshly, its just the truth. oppa loves u as a fan, not a lover.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Maybe this is what it's need it for that system to end, if so, be it. Sugar coat just extend unnecessarily the process.

    I don't support fans' entitlement... It's wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Pray tell, how has he demonstrated an iljin attitude? I'm afraid you don't even fully understand the word "iljin". 일진

    ReplyDelete
  99. thank you! i understand if people are mad at fangirls who are being aggressive or harassing people, but there's no need to be angry over normal fans with crushes.

    ReplyDelete
  100. 7. [+31, -2] He's right and all but what's up with his attitude and his spelling is all off... he should be in his mid-late twenties but he talks like some iljin high schooler ㅋㅋㅋ

    butthurt netizens

    ReplyDelete
  101. He wrote it like he is a sulking kid. he could have writen more maturly.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Are you talking about 8 years ago? That isn't something that is valid in even the last 5 years

    ReplyDelete
  103. "Maybe this is what it's need it for that system to end"

But FT Island is PART of the system. That's the issue here. They supported it all these years but now that Hongki made enough money off of it he is so confident now to not care about his fans. Well, that's the impression he gave me. If he genuinely gave a shit he would've atleast wrote them a letter or something explaining the circumstance and yada yada yada. Snapping at an immature fan makes him look bad to all the other fans that feel that way (and spent money on him).

    ReplyDelete
  104. ㅋㅋㅋ ? what does it mean?

    ReplyDelete
  105. come one.. he's just human like us..get angry..make mistakes.. i somehow understand why he acted like that.. he work really hard and people angry, sad at him over his dating scandal..he's not using any curse words, i bet he still holding in, it show he really still care.

    ReplyDelete
  106. So you think a photo shoot from 2009 is a valid reference point for them being promoted as flower boys now?

    ReplyDelete
  107. You can find many photos of them like that my friend. Why don't you do your own research?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Plus we don't know how and what that fan has tweeted him. His reply could be perceived in a different context rather than plain 'rude'. I see no harm in a little tough love.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I don't speak Korean, so I have no idea of the tone of his comments, or if they are worded in a sloppy way that can seem offensive. I don't know if netizens are just being overly critical as usual or if there is merit to their comments. I will say that it is weird there are no comments defending him though. Usually fans manage to get in at least one or two comments, pushing back. I'm not sure what that means in this case.

    ReplyDelete
  110. But those 5 years they've been making bank from fans so yes, our point is still very valid thank you very much.

    ReplyDelete
  111. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingApril 11, 2015 at 12:08 AM

Sad how that's how it works. In order for Idols to succeed they need a strong and supportive fanbase. How do they do this? Emotional manipulation to draw in the gullible and the delusional.

The biggest thing to blame is the agencies and the system for advocating this. With all the fake love calls that idols do to their fans, it's only understandable that some will be delusional enough to believe them. The idol love baits the delusional in. And then it continues on to fuel the delusions.

    ReplyDelete
  112. He's actually one of the few idols and, for the matter, Korean celebrity who has an actual backbone to stand up for himself and set things straight.

I'm not even a fan of his, nor do I listen to FTISLAND's music (I'm more into CNBLUE) but even if people hate him for his "attitude", I admire him for his boldness in standing up for himself and sorting out rumors before they spiral out of control to a total witch hunt.

Yes, he has an image to maintain as an idol but I think handling rumors and nipping them at the buds is a good preventive measure -- although he could've done it in a "nicer" way but it just goes to show that he has feelings too and is human and DOES get hurt by all these false rumors. Like all celebrities, they are merely HUMAN just like us.

    ReplyDelete
  113. No honey...what I'm saying is that they haven't had an image like that since their debut but if you feel they are still promoting it I won't argue with you. I was around before they debuted after all

    ReplyDelete
  114. lol the possibility of this being misconstrued >>>>

    ReplyDelete
  115. so, in order to change the system, we have to wait what? a miracle?... Let's wait for the day the magic stop by, touch the fans' heads and they stop being delusional?

Was he wrong? maybe by the wording.
    what this necessary? absolutely.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I don't find it to be a valid point and not something they promote but if you do then there is no point arguing about it since it's subjective.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Imagine someone snickering? Or I guess you could say it's "lol".

    ReplyDelete
  118. Also I disagree that they "started" that image but if you think so we'll just disagree

    ReplyDelete
  119. This would have been a great moment to just quote Dongwan

    ReplyDelete
  120. if you been following him on twitter to know there are actually trolls following him and tweets him shit bcuz they know they will get a reaction from him. he replied this directly to that person with 6 follows and 0 follower and a locked acc.yep, not suspicious at all.
he's 1of the outspoken people in kpop with a legit talent too. I'm gna be his fan no matter what. haters gna hate.
yeah, non fans since when did you care about Hongki btw?

    ReplyDelete
  121. You don't get it do you? Let me explain this to you in another way,

he BENEFITED from the system for YEARS and made BANK off of it. You saying he is using this as an opportunity to "end" it is ridiculous because he's been partaking in it and enjoying the advantages of it for a long time. To the point where he now doesn't need it anymore. And this will continue to go on. And idols will continue to manipulate their fans into spending money on them. And they'll move on from it. Hongki isn't some lord and savior for has-been idols, Hongki supported it up until he didn't need it anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  122. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingApril 11, 2015 at 12:13 AM

And what makes you think the fans are entitled? FT Island plays the whole "my fans are my girlfriend" game like other groups. Then once they get mad that fans are upset that they're dating, they get mad back and wonder why fans are disappointed. It's completely reasonable.

No, Hongki doesn't owe them and he's allowed to have a love life. The ones who deserve his criticism are the delusional fans that believe he can't date and he belongs to them. If he cares about his fans, he wouldn't play with their feelings and then curse at them without a second thought when they get sad at him dating.

It's completely understandable for the fans to feel played. Like I said, the only ones who deserve his criticism are the delusional fans. Otherwise he's reacted insensitively and immaturely.

  123. It's a message fans were never going to want to hear, no matter how nicely he said it.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Stop trying shield delusional fans, unless those so called fans are like 8 years old and haven't hit puberty yet he did not need to hold back on his comments. People are giving him shit for just dating, I would be pissed too. So instead of saying how insensitive he is blah blah blah how about you tell those delulu to stop being so sensitive and grow up huh? "Omg he is so mean, Oppa is so mean for telling the truth wahhhhhh wahhhhhhhh" cry me a river bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Finally, somebody said it!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Okay so I get that idols feed this behavior by saying the things they do and call them their boyfriends/girlfriends, but the fans really have to differentiate fan service from reality. Also if you were a an actual fan then I would hope it's for the actual music. If you are only looking at them visually, more likely than not you will move on to the next eye candy so I would hope that people who call themselves fans are in it for the music because at the end of the day they do produce music and that's what is it important, not the glitz and glam. Their personal life is or should be separated from their professional and people should expect that because I sure as hell know that me at work is different from me at home. Kay then sorry for the rant

  128. oh, now I see it... He's the bad one, gotcha.

    ReplyDelete
  129. So he is dating her or not? i thought he rejected it?

and i like hongki attitude. yeah ask them to leave so they cant whine anymore

    ReplyDelete
  130. Getting rid of fans you don't want to have actually a sort of normal celebrity prerogative. Obsessive fans get slapped with restraining orders or thrown out of events quite frequently... I think it's far weirder for Japanese and Korean celebrities to put up with fans who are unhinged or don't see them as human beings (and even stranger to see i-fans who think this is even remotely okay or normal), and I grew up in Jaoan.

    ReplyDelete
  131. i thought he meant it like if people only support him because he is boyfriend material instead of his talent they should leave?

    ReplyDelete
  132. As his fan, I am glad tha at least international kpop fans give divided reaction to his statement, rather than react 100% negatively to his tweet. This tweet is controversial, but not 100% negative. He is only a human afterall.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Seriously, some fans act like teens who have a crush on someone, but that someone doesn't know them at all... Then their crush goes to a relationship with another person and the teen goes apeshit.

    ReplyDelete
  134. It also seems like FT Island is putting in more of an effort to be seen as a band instead of idols, so responding this way makes a lot of sense.

    ReplyDelete
  135. that tweet isn't just ~standing up from himself~ he's being fucking rude. he could have said that way better.

    ReplyDelete
  136. He told her off because she was disappointed in him dating, so what does the flower boy concept have to do with anything?

But hey, I totally respect your opinion. I just come from a perspective where fans shouldnt be entitled to anything other than music.

(This was so hard to type from my phone T-T)

  138. I imagine if he cared about following the idol script and way of speaking/doing things he would have changed a long time ago. I'm not even a fan and I'm not surprised by his words. Why would any real fan of his be surprised?

    ReplyDelete
  139. what about "oh honey, sorry for break it out to you but... We are never ever ever ever ever going to be together as a couple"

All those "kkkk" made it sound childish, I know.

    ReplyDelete
  140. He's making exponentially more money of off his Japanese fans though... And this is a sort of respected response. Deny the dating rumor + maintain aloof rocker image.

    ReplyDelete
  142. as a celebrity, you don't know all your fans and they don't know you. but you have love for your fans and they have love for you.

as a fan, there is a difference between admiring an idol and being delusional, thinking that they are meant to be yours, and yours only.

i feel like he could have phrased what he meant better (basing it off of the translation).to me, the way he spoke sounds like he doesn't give a flying fuck about any of his fans.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I understand why he would be pissed off by how immature some fans are but it doesn't give him the rights to be rude to his fan who has once supported him. He could've told the fans off in a nice manner, instead of using harsh words.

Even better, just ignore what the fan says, there are tonnes of idols out there who receives negative remarks from fans, not just only him. Idols receive hate every single day, what I admire about most is how they can keep quiet and try to cope with it, makes me respect them more because they know fans are important. When making money, there is no pride, that's life. HongKi is giving fans a reason to leave him because of his uncaring attitude towards fans. If he doesn't care about his fans, why should fans stay around?

    ReplyDelete
  144. been wondering about it too. But if he made a general statement, fans and non fans (the latter is the worst), could think that the statement applied to them all, while I'm sure there are people (fans) who support him to be in relationship. I mean, see what happen now, he mention one person, and the reactions coming from more than one hundred persons.

You're missing the point entirely, but sure go ahead and take OP out of context.

    ReplyDelete
  146. It's totally okay even if he is really dating(he denied it tho), the problem is the way he type this tweet. From a non fans perspective, I believe that his intention is not bad, he always acts like that tbh yet sometimes he sounds too immature, i do hope he will grow up. You can't use "it's hongki style" to shield everytime, indeed it is rude rather than cool.

    ReplyDelete
  147. kinda sad to view your fans as money machines. maybe he just doesn't want that and instead wants people to pay because they think his music is worth spending money for.

    ReplyDelete
  148. it's normal for me tho, what he wants.

    ReplyDelete
  149. There's a reason why i nvr liked hogki anyways

    ReplyDelete
  150. FT ISLAND has told their fans since start that fans shouldn't interfere with their private life and they can date whoever they want
Hongki don't sugarcoats his words, fans should know that

    ReplyDelete
  151. i don't like fans turning their backs if their idol is dating but trying to screw your fan in front of all is a true EMPTY BRAIN. you're actually nothing without your fan dude! go study.

    ReplyDelete
  152. FT Island called primadonnas "babos" all the time, but they (especially Hongki) always mention whenever one of them had a girlfriend. They tried so hard not to deluded fans. So, I kinda understand what Hongki trying to say... "You haven't known me for that long, huh???" They have been in relationship since forever. Do not cry when it's confirmed (or not).

    ReplyDelete
  153. What an asshole.... Congratulation with your relationship. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be that rude if he was single or needed his fans money

    ReplyDelete
  154. haters to the left.
seriously the moral police in this post really overwhelming. all of this because Hongki replied to a troll? man..don't waste your time here go watch your oppar shaking their butts and gap to them.

  159. I support hongki in a very hard way and almost all the time. He is right, if this gurl is getting mad with him for a rumour it's like...wake up and get some sun light but the way he said it it's not the best lol. He speaks without thinking and every primadonna knows that (at least old pris) but come on hongki, without fans, doesn't matter what type of fans, you are out.

    ReplyDelete
  160. people just love to hate.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Reminds me of how Dongwan from Shinhwa told fans
"Shinhwa will not be responsible for your lives."
He lost quite a bit of fans at that period of time, but what he said makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  162. NB readers are mostly like to jump on their own conclusion based on so lil info provided. Tsk

You don't care abt the truth behind.. only like to bash idols and the fans (for defending the idols). But again, who knows the idol better?

I feel like you just want to hate .. ㅋㅋㅋ

  164. im not a fan of lee hongki, honestly I dont even know who he is (except that hes going to be on RM tomorrow) but I dont see what he did wrong....
Fans go too far these days they act like they can control artists lives. A fan is just that a fan stop over stepping your boundaries.
I feel like those who think hes overreacting have thin skin, thickin up!!!

    ReplyDelete
  167. This isn't something new to me since many Western celebrities would reply to haters LOL. Since it's not a norm over there, he should've subtweeted.. But you do you Hongki~

    ReplyDelete
  168. some of u guys are so hypocritical. get all angry when reading kfan comment on how they hate an idol for dating and say things like fans dont own their celebs now u guys are commenting about how he should have endured it and let people hate on him.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Hongki is a talented brat tbh

    ReplyDelete
  170. It's not wrong to say that, but he's being extremely insensitive. Fans really put in a lot for their idols - no matter how delusional, and he benefits big time ($$$) from that.

If he was smarter he would've phrased that a lot better. He'll face consequences of losing a lot of fans. Have fun with that lmao

    ReplyDelete
  171. Fact finding first dude before said something based on 1 article.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Not really that suprised..some western celebrity do that too and even worse.

    ReplyDelete
  173. He's right and all but does he really have to reply I mean being a star you get thousand of tweets like this just ignore it like they all do... and fans get upset for awhile it's understandable they are in shock give them a little bit of time they have the right to since they're the one putting food on the table for you *kinda*

    ReplyDelete
  174. You shouldn't eat the hand that feeds you.

    ReplyDelete
  175. wont comment on the situation, but the way he wrote it was extremely rude. its one thing to switch to banmal and another to abandon any sort of respect to look down on them :/ whoever commented that he came off as an iljin high schooler nailed it. especially the first sentence, its like he is talking to his bread shuttle

    ReplyDelete
  176. But he found that ok for many years lol.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Hongki aint an idol. He just doesnt do 'fanservices' like actin cute, throwin hearts, utterin love words etc. As a Pri, I'm not even surprised reading his reply bc this is hongki we are talkin about AND he has said many times before that PRIMADONNAS ARE HIS BEST FRIENDS. and even in fms, one pri told him she loved him and guess what did he tell the girl, no dont love me. just dont love me. so hes being pretty much honest about this. So, fans get over this and be matured

    it's basically "lol"

    ReplyDelete
  179. "cry me a river bitch"

You sound so miserable tbh. Seriously, it's not like anyone is saying idols should enable behavior that's actually destructive. To get that ticked off by a little jealousy (completely normal, by the way) from a fan is definitely a mark of immaturity.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Lol absolutely agreed

    ReplyDelete

i don't find it wrong that he puts the fans in place but....uhh...he IS an idol...insisting he's not an idol is delusional, when that's what he is. if he ain't an idol...doubt most peeps would even know him. and just bcuz he sings in rock band doesn't make him not-an-idol.

    ReplyDelete
  189. The dude gets hate no matter what he does so might as well speak his mind. These delulu fans take these things way too far and then the rest of the public shields them. They act as if they own celebrities like they would some car or property And these guys are supposed to keep taking this crap, seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  190. His point was a true fan will never hate on him just bcos of a rumors and he basically said if it is true, then why hate on him for being happily dating?

    ReplyDelete
  191. It didn't seem immature to me at all. It was more of a "Lol, bitch bye" type of thing. But being someone who actually says that all the time you should take what I say with a grain of salt.

    ReplyDelete
  192. why non FT fans overrated to this when Pris obviously know Hongki replied to a troll? this is not the 1st time it happened btw. oh wait, you guys are not in our fandom. how can you? OK, wwhatever...keep hating him.
