[Pann] Visual drop in Korea's birth rate

Pann: The speed in decrease of elementary school students

2005: 4.23 million elementary school students
2014: 2.72 million elementary school students

1. [+163, -14] Keep it up, keep the numbers decreasing so that the government will finally realize that something needs to be done

2. [+158, -1] Korea's definitely not a country to raise a kid in...

3. [+33, -0] There probably won't be any Koreans left in the world in a few decades

4. [+31, -0] I wonder how many colleges will close down in the future

5. [+27, -0] I hate how the government keeps telling you to have more kids when they're not the ones who are going to raise it for you. Instead, they raise all the prices and make it even more difficult.

6. [+27, -1] Who'd want to raise a kid in this damn country?

7. [+18, -0] This is a serious issue though, it's not just about whether you want kids or not. It's all related in the end to every issue in the country. The fact that our birth rates dropped double the speed of any other country in the advanced world means that we've aged just as fast. It's also the reason why the country is so fixated on allowing multi-cultural families and why we're so lax on rules on letting foreigners in. The stupid government's just sitting there thinking, "You all won't have kids? Fine, we'll let in foreigners who will." It's a frustrating issue...

8. [+17, -0] Living on my own is hard enough as it is, I won't have kids unless there's change

9. [+16, -0] This is a more serious issue than I thought..

10. [+14, -1] I think the issue stems from people not wanting to get married at all... All of my friends and myself included don't want to get married because women get nothing out of it unless you're absolutely in love with a man. You're just stuck at home with all the housework and child rearing on top of having to work too... I think most of the women in their twenties nowadays think the same way.
