Nicole confirms new agency + solo debut

Article: Former KARA member Nicole to advance into America with Lee Kyu Chang, the CEO who helped Psy

Source:
Newsen via Nate (later news, DSP said she will only be going solo in Korea, not America)

1. [+185, -10] Is America some town next door you can all get in

2. [+146, -6] What helped Psy was the YouTube parodies, and if anyone helped Psy, it was Scooter Brown. Stop media playing using exaggerated names.

3. [+117, -10] Is she trying to use the Park Jin Young tactic of media playing about America in Korea to earn attention in Korea?

4. [+16, -2] Aside from her English, what does Nicole have going for her in America...

5. [+11, -2] You have to sing well to make it in America..

1. [+1,563, -118] Who will look at her when she goes solo? She's being greedy at this point.

2. [+1,280, -77] Did she leave in the first place to go solo???? and Jiyoung to pursue acting???

3. [+962, -53] I'm not surprised but I am really worried

4. [+828, -262] Already knew it... ㅋㅋㅋ What was the point of leaving? When she's going to come back to Korea to debut ㅋㅋㅋ I hope she fails.

5. [+163, -12] This will make her realize that being on the team was better than going solo.

    —— Nopeeeeee. Not even close.

Considering this is all my all-time favorite jam and hit number 1 all over, I think persona trumps singing in a lot of pop.

  5. why are there articles about her debuting in america when she already said her comeback will be in korea. she's only in the states to train.

I'm sorry, I get you don't like her and everything but there's really no need for that malicious and hateful last line.

  10. I said Ill support my bias when she goes solo but really advancement in America?
Not sure how I feel for that?

She has a bigger chance of success and pulling a sunmi then becoming big in America ...but we never know

  11. Nicole, FIGHTING~! ^.^

    ReplyDelete
  12. soon to be added to Merriam-Webster's dictionary

    ReplyDelete
  13. well she did leave her group.... only to return as solo? isn't that kind of a slap in the face

    ReplyDelete
  14. [+11, -2] You have to sing well to make it in America..

    no knet. not really.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Technically, Kris pulled a "Nicole".

    ReplyDelete
  16. terrible metaphor. she quit LAST YEAR.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Funny how ot11 fans are saying same about Kris in terms of losing lawsuit and what not

    ReplyDelete
  19. You don't necessarily have to be able to single well to make it in America... lol. I think many celebrities are walking examples of that. Hope she does well!

    ReplyDelete
  20. "[+11, -2] You have to sing well to make it in America.."

LOL You've got to be kidding me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. no? her contract was over and she had been undermined by her company for years. why would she stay tbh

    "i hope she fails" ???
what did nicole do to you or your family or your friends to deserve something like this?
how could she/he hope for someone misfortune. how rude.

  25. Kesha actually does sing good when without music they just auto-tune the shit out of her

  26. "5. [+11, -2] You have to sing well to make it in America.."

    ReplyDelete
  27. Seeing as her company treated her like shit, I think it not a slap in the face.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You all say that about Sunmi before

    ReplyDelete
  29. rihanna can sing though. Watch her live performances.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I meant with the whole new agency thing. People have guessed he joined a new one so yea lol

    ReplyDelete
  31. "(later news, DSP said she will only be going solo in Korea, not America)"

but why is DSP answering questions about nicole when they're not even her agency anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Source: Newsen via Nate (later news, DSP said she will only be going solo in Korea, not America)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Not even close, wtf

    ReplyDelete
  34. no she didn't. she left when her contract was over and had no legal obligation to kara. dsp had it against her and withheld personal activities only for her. she had every right to leave. stop trying to compare two things that have nothing to do with each other.

    ReplyDelete
  35. And good addicting melody and lines that will hook you up.

    ReplyDelete
  36. OMFG knetz are so condescending. "She will fail".... NECMINNUT

    ReplyDelete
  37. Her life, her choices. Like seamirrors said, her contract already ended anyway so if she wasn't happy then there was no real reason to stay put. A slap in the face is, as a recent example, Kris making a run for it with no reason given to people who he's been with for years.

    ReplyDelete
  38. idk what's up with discus but this is my comment and i respectfully disagree. she sounds ok when she tries hard, but i've been to her concert and girl can't sing. still love her though

    ReplyDelete
  39. there's worse....much worse...

    ReplyDelete
  40. first of all phew second of all why is DSP giving statements on her, they are nt her agency anymore

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well good luck to her i guess.. :L

    ReplyDelete
  42. i was going to say thanks for telling me...because I didn't know, but they you edited your comment.

it's really easy for people to simply throw the "you're a fan of exo so" excuse. just stop lol

    ReplyDelete
  43. but Rihanna CAN sing...

    ReplyDelete
  44. You don't necessarily have to be a great singer to make it in America, but if you're not that talented you should at least be good looking- preferably in a sexy kind of way... I doubt Nicole's looks would appeal to people in the West tbh.

    ReplyDelete
  45. lmao you stop. you are an exo fan and literally said "she pulled a kris" down there.

  47. DSP must be terrible for her to choose to get out and go solo. Hopefully she will do well! :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Uhhh Jessie J? Just Jessie J has a stage personality that rocks. She's quirky, she's empathetic, and she's funky. And she has good producers. She's not "attractive", but she's still all that.

Jessie J may know how to actually sing, but her popular songs have nothing to do with her singing talent.

    ReplyDelete
  49. 4. [+828, -262] Already knew it... ㅋㅋㅋ What was the point of leaving?

how can you hope for someone to fail?! are you human or just an insecure bitch who don't want to see someone happy in life ?!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Really? I think she has the look that foreigners will find attractive. She's sooo sexy to me.

lol. all Five Girls members make solo debuts. only Yubin & Jiwon left.. xD

    ReplyDelete
  52. but she does have a unique spark to her ....
As a Nicole fan even I doubt this but DSP just said she's doing a solo in Korea???

    ReplyDelete
  53. It doesn't even matter. It's hard for an Asian to make it in America. That's a fact. I don't know if that may change in the future but right now, it's really hard to make it there and Nicole probably wouldn't be the person to change that.

    ReplyDelete
  54. 5. [+11, -2] You have to sing well to make it in America..
    umm no

selena gomez, britney spears, katy berry ..etc

    ReplyDelete
  56. Right, hence stage persona is more important than singing talent. A unique spark, trash glam, etc., all make a star stand out more than someone. I think Nicole would have a hard time in the US market, but for many reasons other than anything associated with her musical talents.

    ReplyDelete
  57. agreed.

  59. Ke$ha is actually a good singer you just wouldn't know if you've only heard her electro pop stuff that's on the radio. But anyway I'm dying @ them thinking you need to be a good singer to make it in America Lmfao. Haven't they ever seen Britney or Selena Gomez? Or Iggy Azalea the worst rapper ever.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Kevin Horvejkul KwokMay 19, 2014 at 6:19 AM

Nicole is pretty! If you wanna pretty, every wanna pretty!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. ikr, Kesha, Selena Gomez, and Katy Perry aren't exactly swimming in talent.

    ReplyDelete
  62. 4. [+828, -262] Already knew it... ㅋㅋㅋ What was the point of leaving? When she's going to come back to Korea to debut ㅋㅋㅋ I hope she fails.

Just coz you fail at everything and are too scared to try anything doesn't mean you need to wish failure on other people who are actually going after their dreams and trying to achieve something.

    ReplyDelete
  63. http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140504225656/degrassi/images/6/67/Iggy_Azalea_-_Fancy_(1).gif

    Don't touch Iggy.

Also, Britney did sing her audition in the wrong key… Let's just leave it at that.

    ReplyDelete
  64. ia I can see people here liking her looks.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Lol I knew people would jump in defending Iggy coz she's the flavour of the month. Just coz she's pretty and has a good stylist doesn't mean she has talent or can rap. I'm not even dissing her she seems nice enough and she obviously very much wants to be a celebrity but yeah she can't rap for shit and her accent is horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I wish Five Girls would be a legit group again. They would SLAY!

    ReplyDelete
  67. True.

But if you want to use Rihanna as an example, then its:

"You have to show your **** to make it in America..."

    XD

    ReplyDelete
  68. Um Jessie J is terrible. The most contrived pop star who was forced onto us by a huge campaign to break her and then once the buzz died and the powers that be moved onto someone new she flopped.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Lol *saves gif*. I dunno, wishing for someone to fail really irks me, I'm really sensitive to that word.

    ReplyDelete
  70. What's "rap talent" on the top 40? How is Iggy any worse than Minaj, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, etc?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Her looks suit foreign tastes imo and pulls off sexy quite well.

At least it best out the typical Asian beauty standards which foreigners generally find plain/boring until you get accustomed to it.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Well I'm not a Nicki Minaj fan at all and she can't freestyle from everything I've seen but at least she can well on records or to pre-rehearsed bit. And Wayne and Wiz are actually talented, they can rap and they've put out some good music even though they obviously have a lot of bad stuff too. Iggy's music is atrocious, it's some catchy highly produced singles and the the rest of her album sounds like the 'rap' version of a bad Selena Gomez album.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Maybe Asian men but Asian women can probably do well.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ah yes, of course, cause people are "real" or fake, and not all "just fake" to not piss off everyone in society. Thanks for enlightening me.

    ReplyDelete
  75. 4. [+828, -262] Already knew it... ㅋㅋㅋ What was the point of leaving? When she's going to come back to Korea to debut ㅋㅋㅋ I hope she fails.

Hey hun, nobody cares you like her or nah, but hoping someone to fails is too much, don't you think? Karma does exist ;)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Okay that's just rude. Now I really want her to success

    ReplyDelete
  77. It's still hard for women. Honestly you could get the hottest Asian female woman with tonnes of talent and power and it'd still be hard for her unless she was mixed-race, like Michelle Branch or something. But someone who looks obviously full Chinese or Japanese or Korean or something would be met with a LOT of racism.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Once again, you buy into the myth of superior talent on top 40 produced tracks. I don't even…

    #Peoplebecray

    ReplyDelete
  79. But didn't Nicole part away from DSP mainly because she was neglected and didn't have any solo activities ? :o

    ReplyDelete
  80. to make it in america now,you simply have to make something like we can't stop and have no singing skills and make soft porn

    ReplyDelete
  81. Ugh, Iggy. I think the only rap I could tolerate from her was with the collab with Ariana Grande.

    ReplyDelete
  82. As much as I think Iggy is awesome, I agree with you. She can't rap. Her live performances are proof. And I her accent is too forced.

    ReplyDelete
  83. im so happy for nicole she is beautiful outside and inside, never been in a scandal before she is agood girl and very lovable person i don't know why knetz are hating on her !! it just prove its not about the image they just hate girls getting success

or because nicole have alot of male friends?!!! lol seriously i can't find a reason for hating on nicole the girl is fucking adorable

    ReplyDelete
  84. I don't buy into the myth LMAO, I only believe in genuine star power or no star power, regardless of talent. But if you have no talent at least put out good songs. Iggy has catchy singles and an album full of filler crap. I'm a Cassie stan; she's boring, can't sing, dancing is mediocre, but at least the pop and R&B music she puts out is either really creative or just plain good,.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Talent is entirely orthogonal to success in pop music. It means there is no relation. You can be extremely talented and successful, but it will neither help you (when everything is produced by men in suits and your voice corrected unnoticeably to make you appear to have talent), nor is even the flavor of the last few years. Songs demonstrating pure, raw singing talent are not desirable.

    ReplyDelete
  86. if I had a choice,I would debut in america where the big money is...unlike korea where there is no way to sell a million copies without international fans

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yup. I don't have any problem with her personally and I've known about her for years because I'm Aussie but she really has no talent and can't rap. The label has invested millions into her to turn her into a star and it really only started working when she hooked up with Rita Ora's manager and stylist who started putting her in off the runway outfits and then having her caught by the paparazzi everywhere that she started getting attention and had enough buzz to get "Fancy" off the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  88. "You have to song well to make it in America"

    Lolololololololololol

    ReplyDelete
  89. Can't judge 'til we see what she got.. I like Nicole so I'll look forward to it but hope working with someone that helped psy doesn't mean she's gonna try and be like the female psy or something similar. Hopefully she makes (don't wanna say "real" music) mature? kind of music.. I don't want her to just be like this funny asian girl to laugh at.

    ReplyDelete
  90. What's "rap talent" A exortic girl rap with boy-friend had a look : http://bit.ly/1nXYfBb

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yeah I know, as far as pop goes the only important thing is a good song, hence why I stan for Heidi Montag's Superficial and despise most of the 'talented' singers on the Billboard charts.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Haha.. ..psy not helped by that man. ...psy succes coz of the song and the viral dance.. ..lmao

    ReplyDelete
  93. The ones that don't have the best singing voices have a lot of sass and confidence. Nicole seems nice and a bit shy. But you never know...

    ReplyDelete
  94. 5. [+11, -2] You have to sing well to make it in America..

    uhhmm no..

    ReplyDelete
  95. Uh...good luck with that Nicole...at least school is always a back up

    ReplyDelete
  96. 1. [+185, -10] Is America some town next door you can all get in

This. All these American debuts happening with Asian artists do not realise the difficulty that involve to break into the US market - Psy was by luck. BoA, Utada Hikaru, Rain, Wonder Girls.. etc. shows that even the biggest Asian stars can't find commercial success there - better to stay on home soil and not take such a risk.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I love Nicole but bb has no chance in America. Unless she goes PSY cray with her MV or collaborates with a popular artist, no one (besides kpop fans) is going to give her a second glance.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Lmaoo, iggy is what Macklemore is to male rappers. Basic as fuck but white people want to hail her as the "illest" female rapper cause they're trying to take over the art. I will admit she's very pretty and has a cool style but please don't tell me you think she's a legit good rapper.

    ReplyDelete
  99. But Sunmi's still a far better singer than Nicole is.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Have you seen unfaithful live? The tone deaf bitch can't even pick a key to sing in

    ReplyDelete
  101. LOL the bad lives in the videos are what these netizens call singing well

  103. Reasons why Nicole left KARA::
    http://jungnicole.blogspot.com/2014/01/reasons-why-nicole-left-kara.html

    ReplyDelete
  104. Nowadays American popstars are all about image and looks except for Beyonce

    ReplyDelete
  105. Where are popstars not about image and looks?

Or did i miss all the huge korean pop stars with dark skin, broad faces etc

    ReplyDelete
  106. I just hope her debut song isn't some cheesy club anthem. Good luck to her.

    ReplyDelete
  107. She is an "okay" singer, in my opinion. She sounds nice when she does ballads, but she strains a bit in her famous upbeat songs. I admire her management even more. Most of her songs are hits.

    ReplyDelete
  108. actually what does she has that makes her an idol? singing? :/ acting? :/ i doubt she has any talent right? don't tell me dancing... she's not that powerful in dancing as well... just give up...

    ReplyDelete
  109. maybe DSP is Nicole loyal stalker? lol

    ReplyDelete
  110. No she didn't, she just didn't renewed her contract meanwhile Kris want to break it. Those two case are totally different. :o

    ReplyDelete
  111. What is she trying to do? become a dancer in the US?

    ReplyDelete
  112. i'm still confused. if she's not debuting in america why is she there? where is she practicing exactly? and what company is she under now if DSP is still announcing things on her behalf?

    ReplyDelete
  113. she isnt even pretty..she looks like the dudes in the movie 'white chicks' when they were disguised as women...

  114. http://teecraze.com/wp-content/uploads/plumbingservice-585x396.jpg

  115. I hope she will get the concept that fits her the most so she won't ruin herself.

(But tbh I can't think of any that fits her)

    ReplyDelete
  116. Nicole tweeted this "i'm focusing on my preparation for solo debut in korea.. but people saying U.S;; i'm working hard right now in the preparation so i can meet everyone"

    ReplyDelete
  117. Sorry but Nicole already clarify this on her twitter, she said that she's prepare to debut as soloist in Korea. So please appreciate her hard work and give all your attention as you can for her solo debut.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Asian who doing well in America? Hmmm I think of Far East Movement!!! And Agnez Mo :)

    ReplyDelete
  119. Eh, aside from the auto tune Kesha can actually sing. Britney Spears would be a better example (and I'm a lifelong Britney fan).

    ReplyDelete
  120. stop compare please.... i'm just sick, let's just wait for her solo debut!

    ReplyDelete
  121. Lol, I'm not even a fan of rap but those people you listed are actually good at what they do. Given, they rap about nonsense sometimes, but whenever I hear them it's not hard to see that they've at least got talent. I respect Iggy because she worked hard and practiced to get where she is but c'mon, she can't rap. But that being said he does deserve to be where she is because she worked very hard to get there, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's a talented rapper.

    ReplyDelete
  122. gosh, i never like lee seung gi acting, he is such a try hard.

    ReplyDelete
  123. lol no one really helped psy except for youtube

    ReplyDelete

  126. Bald Mr.WorldwideMay 19, 2014 at 8:05 AM

    POP industry.Not included other genres.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Her contract is expired and she doesnt want to leave kara but dsp.. The company didnt even treat her fairly, why she need to renew her contract

    ReplyDelete
  128. Eh, she was popular before she went all 'bad girl' (i.e. Pon De Replay, SOS, Umbrelle). I just think after the whole Chris Brown thing she needed a way to not be viewed as a victim anymore so being all 'I'm sexy and badass' was a way to escape that (plus that seems like her real personality anyway). Kind of like how Miley knew she had to whore it up in able to have a long lasting carrer in the pop industry away from the 'Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana' stigma.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I never really liked their cookies. I mean they're okay but nothing special.

    ReplyDelete
  130. ya ikr, USA isn't easy market that you're can enter just leave as you want. But if you do really want to success in States one thing you must sure is you must build your fanbase first. If you do have a big and solid fan base, than it's nothing to be worried about because they are the one that gonna buy your song and support you.

Like Selena Gomez, she's got a solid fan base through Disney kids sitcom? or drama? and then goes to movie. So when she goes to singing industry, her fans all the back of her hands.

    ReplyDelete
  131. If a Big Bang song was leaked, it'd just be YG laughing on a loop.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Vixx ain't popular, but they're not a nugu.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Have you guys actually read her that on her twitter or do you depend on "news" from enewsworld?

    ReplyDelete
  134. She was there to receive more vocal and dance training. She's been back in Korea for awhile already.

    ReplyDelete
  135. It's not what you rap about it's how you do it, and her word play is horrible, nicki and wayne's word play is declining to Wiz was never considered rap royalty he's basically a one hit wonder when it comes to the rap world so far

    ReplyDelete
  136. For those who still blur about what Nicole current to, i'm copying from koreaboo articles

Former KARA member, Nicole Jung has decided upon an agency to sign with and is currently preparing for her solo comeback.

After her contract ended with DSP Media, Nicole went to the United States of America to train and improve on her singing and dancing skills, in which she learnt choreographies and received vocal lessons from the best in America, such as Celine Dion’s vocal trainer William Riley, and world-renowned American choreographer Luam Keflezgy.

One of her training sessions with Luam Keflezgy was uploaded on Luam’s YouTube channel, in which Nicole also shared it with her followers on her personal Instagram.

There had also been rumors about how Nicole was going to make a solo debut in the American music market, however an affiliate stated that this was untrue and a misinterpretation.

They explained that Nicole will be coming back to the Korean market as a solo artist first before she could enter the American market, and this would be desirable as she has not yet performed by herself yet.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Oh please don't make me lough

  138. nooo she can't have you seen any of her live performances as some one who went to 6 of her concerts and got disappointed all 6 times I highly disagree with this

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yes it's on her twitter. I follow her.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I'd say she became infamous from Friday. The amount of hate she recieved was no joke.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Hyosung, G.Na, Uee, Yubin & Jiwon.

    Not Nicole.

It was really fun the first episode and then I don't know it just went donwhill ! besides I find Go ara soo anoying it seems like she is playing Na young from reply all over again !! It's kinda like as she got a little praise for getting better she is just sticking to the same character !

    ReplyDelete
  143. Bruno Mars did it, even though he is half. The Asian American community isn't doing as much to support their artist as much as the blacks and latinos did for theirs

    ReplyDelete
  144. OMG.
Was this a hit in America?

    ReplyDelete
  145. *plugs ears* LALALaaaaa~~~~

    ReplyDelete
  146. Kesha can actually sing tho.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I don't even know what it takes to make it into the American or "Western" Market anymore. The artists vary so greatly.

    ReplyDelete
  148. yaass i was hoping someone would bring that up.

if someone didnt do it, i was going too!!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Alicia Keys is more like a RnB singer, and Demi Lovato? Even Taeyeon can slay her.

    ReplyDelete
  150. off topic... but N is soooo cute in Hotel King <3333 Hard to believe he is the leader of VIXX <333

    ReplyDelete
  151. why did you get offended? I specifically pointed out "pop"stars. Also, they happened to be the highest earning in the music industry.

    ReplyDelete
  152. When did I say Kpop stars are any better?
Back in the day we had someone like Mariah and Whitney, who are actually talented.

    ReplyDelete
  153. my dream <3

    ReplyDelete
  154. thanks for the info

    ReplyDelete
  155. That actually makes a lot of sense.

    ReplyDelete
  156. OK, then miss Nicole have at least managed one impressive thing in her new career. A shorter advancement into the U_S market than T-aras infamous pool party.

She is not giving much information but it appears that there is a new twist: The plan is to be a solo act in Korea then enter the US market afterward? Then there is mention of her signing with a unnamed agency that presummely is tasked with pulling off both those small wonders. Hmm.

    Sorry.My mistake. >.<

    ReplyDelete
  158. I think Kesha's a genius, but that's just my personal opinion. She's actually a really good singer, same for Lady Gaga just gotta youtube some of their "off-persona" performances.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Yo dawg...

    ReplyDelete
  160. Good question. I also wonder why they changed the picture in the article to a more unflattering one.

    ReplyDelete
  161. She fail still. That's what could go wrong. I WANT Nicole to succeed, but LBR she won't make it just because she has one Hallyu producer. She needs connections, names, people who are A-List relevant and popular in America.

Lady Gaga is a good example. I don't know all the ins and outs of her debut, but I do know that at the time in preparation for her debut she was working with a huge producer (RedOne) and Akon (who was still hella popular back then). She had the master connections AND an interesting concept to debut. AND a catchy song.

I think A-List connections are everything to make it in the industry.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Fanbase, but also large, A-List connections help a lot too.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Ya A -List also play well for promoting you

Who helped PSY was YG.. not just youtube parodies.. who do you think supported his comeback? It was international YG stans who shared Psy's video to the world.. and it became a hit because it was damn funny.. also Hyuna and the Big bang boys helped.. and the amazing baby Psy.. puhleasse..

    ReplyDelete
  165. I really doubt her success there, i mean, even Wonder Girls, one of the most famous kpop girl groups, flopped there and she's going all solo... Time will show, but i guess she'll silently come back to Korea in no time.

    ReplyDelete
  166. 8. [+124, -12] It's just a teaser, who cares if people see it sooner or later ㅋ

DAYM YOU"RE RIGHT! as if people go gaga over a teaser photo

    ReplyDelete
  167. stop being delusional

    ReplyDelete
  168. 6. [+182, -27] I hope Ji Hyun Woo doesn't say "I love you, Seyoung-ssi" after the drama's over like he did last time. What a selfish man, putting his own feelings first without thinking of the other.

PLOT TWIST: He'll target Eunji not Seyoung hahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  169. Sadly, Seung Ho Oppa still in Military

    ReplyDelete
  170. idk she has a follow up... hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  171. i dunno.. because now she has a youtube channel with 800k and she's making videos so she went through the hate, but found fame?

    ReplyDelete
  172. U don't have to sing well to make it in America, you have to be better than the rest at something....and have undeniable charisma.
Dancing like Nicole is good but does not come close to Minzy's charismatic dance. She can't rap well, she can't sing.....I'm worried.

I love her because she's hard working but I'm seriously worried for her.

    ReplyDelete
  173. It was YouTube, SNS, Reddit, and 4Chan. BigBang and HyunA didn't do shit. Most YG Stans didn't blink PSY's way until "Gangnam Style." HyunA was still known as "that hot chick from the 'Gangnam Style' video." If anyone was helped, it was HyunA. CUBE got straight to work on her solo comeback so she could ride the "Gangnam Style" fame.

    Please.

    ReplyDelete
  174. A-pop is not all that different than k-pop in that regard. just replace producer with entertainment company. A big player supporting you defiantly makes things easier and increase the odds in your favour. Otherwise your best bet bet for survival is to rely on skills or do/be something that catch the attention of the public. Miss Nicole do not seem to fit in either category. be it in US or South-Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  175. NB, can you please translate Naver's Article about Infinite's showcase?? :'))

    ReplyDelete
  176. I wish it was the same girl who did "monster" tho. But she looks WAY to young for ji hyun woo. Eunji is not that old either.......should of casted a girl who does musicals

    ReplyDelete
  177. Totally different. The former T-ara membr whobleftcthe group during their most awaited Japan concert and go to a nail salon then now milking the issue seems a more relevant comparison to Kris' case. Anyways, the three situations just show how the remaining kids carry all the burden. How pitiful.

    Who's Iggy Azalea ?

    ReplyDelete
  179. Are they really going to continue the boring vampire thing? Maybe they'll kill someone in the music video for more shock value this time?

    ReplyDelete
  180. You also have to sing well. Name one American mainstream singer who sings like Kpop people? NONE

    ReplyDelete
  181. It's not being Asian. it's just everytime Asian singers go to the US they are never original. They always try to act like Hollywood singers. Nobody needs a Britney or Beyonce clone, we already have the real one. Asian singers should try singing more Asian music.

    ReplyDelete
  182. there are still a lot of big voices around in the industry like pink, kelly clarkson, bruno mars. the appetite for saccharine ballads has gone away while it's still alive and well in korea, that's it. But people like you just want to get pissy about Katy Perry and not look for good English singers anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  183. I like everything except the main character. Seung Gi's character is such an asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  184. but there havent been any asian popstar (not actress/actors) who made it big in US. lol and gangnam style was a complete entertainment act. People arent even that into popstars anymore, its not the 1990s, they want the electro beats and the DJs or the indie singers like Lorde and Lana del Rey. I like Nicole of Kara but I STRONGLY doubt she can make it because its jst gonna be a typical pop songs, plus sang by a petite asian girl. inc racist comments.

  189. lol unpopular opinion but I dont like Eunji. Couldnt finish Reply 1997. Theres something off about her :/

    ReplyDelete
  190. No worry. Even when he doesn't talk, his sexiness and cuteness still able to blind my eyes and heart <3 *.*

  195. This is not true. Selena Gomez can't sing shit yet she's famous...? Also Kesha, Katy Perry, Britney Spears etc
