Lee Ji Ah considering going on 'Healing Camp'

Article: Lee Ji Ah reps, "We are positively considering Lee Ji Ah's 'Healing Camp' offer... decision ot be made after drama finale"

Source:
Sports Donga via Naver

1. [+1,981, -75] The episode will be historical in the amount of content there is to talk about... a pro-Japanese grandfather, Seo Taiji, Jung Woo Sung ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+1,593, -64] I Navered Lee Ji Ah's grandfather and not only was he a part of a pro-Japanese group, but he was actually also the #1 targeted by independence fighter Kim Goo. I'm sure our independence fighters did not sacrifice their lives for the grandchildren of the pro-Japanese to be living well off like this...

3. [+1,246, -62] She has nothing to gain from coming out on that show

4. [+1,020, -27] Being the granddaughter of a pro-Japanese member, her study abroad to America, rumors regarding Seo Taiji, her mysterious image, friendship with Bae Yong Jun, Jung Woo Sung's dating ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ So much to talk about

5. [+622, -22] Too much to talk about.. I'm sure the show will keep everything in check.

6. [+326, -21] Lee Ji Ah's grandfather Kim Soon Heung was written down as the #1 pro-Japanese member who must be eradicated by independence fighter Kim Goo. He funded the government general and the murder of the independence fighters. He would sell out independence fighters and made a wealthy living off of that. Just for being the granddaughter of such a filthy man means Lee Ji Ah must apologize to the entire nation for her blood.

7. [+290, -13] She is the granddaughter of pro-Japanese Kim Soon Heung!!! How dare SBS allow the broadcast of such a blood line?

8. [+256, -16] I can defend her divorce but not her family history. Our government needs to make sure that the new generations of pro-Japanese members pay the price. A shame that there are so many of them in the government and wealthy backgrounds that they have too much power to take down.

Her grandfather is bad not her. How could you treat her like a crime?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I get that her grandfather did wrong but I hate how people write her off just because she's a part of the same blood line. You don't choose what family you're born into and it's not like she was involved in any of this.

  21. I know it's unfair that a pro-Japanese member's family is living wealthy and so many generations are being benefited from it, but it's also unfair to blame her for being the granddaughter. If there's anything to blame her for, blame her if she's not supporting the country or if she's like her grandfather and is going against her own country. But if she's not doing that, and instead she helps the country by giving the money that they unfairly earned to the poor, then don't even blame her.

  36. The whole grand daughter thing is kind of ridiculous. It's like North Korea's 3 generation of punishment (punishing the whole family and his 2 succeeding filial generation of a NoKor escapee by sending them to a labor camp. any yes, the succeeding generation is born inside the camp fyi.). Just because of a single rotten apple, the whole family has to suffer. Where's the logic in that?

Lee Ji Ah should not be defined by her grandfather's crime.

  40. In this context, it's just about Seo Taiji :p to narrow it down, there's a lot of suspicions to do with him and his relationship with women -

Lee Jiah is his ex-wife, and they were actually secretly married for over 9 years, until the divorce in 2006. Even then, no one found out about the marriage until 2011. During the time she was married to him, she was basically kept away from the public, and even her friends had no idea what happened to her. So it can be suspected that STJ actually isolated her from everyone, including her loved ones. Not to mention, she would've been only 19 when she married him :/
Then you have him getting engaged to Lee Eunsung and apparently doing the same to her what he did to Jiah http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2013/05/lee-eun-sung-revealed-to-have-cut-off.html

  42. A number of the North Korean military's forces composed of independence fighters themselves - sadly, it didn't stop them from massacring whole families that were perceived to be pro-Japanese during the Korean War.

Nor did it stop them from slaughtering doctors and nurses of the Seoul National University Hospital along with the patients which included wounded soldiers (since a portion of SK's army at the time had men that served in the Japanese military), as well as disguising themselves as refugees which led to a lot of innocent people being shot as suspect of guerrillas.

  48. Generally speaking, Japanese collaborators have a very negative view from many in Korea, primarily because;

    1. The comfort women issue. There were actually Koreans involved in kidnapping young women off the streets, or giving false promises of decent pay and work.

    2. A portion of Korea's ruling class (particularly those from the Gyungsang province) actually desired to ally with the Japanese during the final years of the Joseon Dynasty - and after Korea was annexed, benefited off immensely while those who were pro-US, pro-Russian and pro-Chinese either had to flee, ridden of or simply had no choice but to submit.

    3. Japan's role during WW2, in which Koreans were also dragged into.

    4. After the end of the war, a lot of them still retained the same wealth and political power they had during the Japanese reign (and still do, in Korea's current government, including both opposition and ruling parties - the only time they were harassed was during Chun's regime, when he frequently threatened money off of them).

Of course, not all pro-Japanese collaborators were necessarily evil people (after all, even my grandmother and a lot of my mom's friends' families benefited from the occupation period), though the actions of those who did really despicable things tend to have a bigger image.

Even having a successful and honestly run business running during that time period, lowly police officer or military conscript is enough to be labelled as a pro-J collaborator.

  84. I have a similar story. I'm italian and my ancestors were from the Antonine dynasty of the Roman Empire (Trajan, Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius and Commodus). I'm not talking shit, I have the proofs. One day I went to a museum in Rome and there was a bust of Antinous (the sex god in the picture, Hadrian's lover) and I said to my friend that me and Hadrian shared the same preferences and that it had to be a family's feature. So, there was a man next to us, he asked me if I was a descendant of Hadrian and I said yes and he looked blankly at me for a minute and than he started to yell at me about how Commodus destroyed the Roman Empire and he said that I had to ask for forgiveness in front of the Italian population. I was shocked, really. He was following us and I asked the security to help me getting rid of him. When they were dragging him away he even said that I had to kill myself in order to restore the name of my family.

  88. So what they are saying is that Lee Ji Ah has to apologize for being born as the granddaughter of someone who was pro-Japanese back in the day?

Wow, that's totally not racist at all. As a German, I have always believed that those assholes that think all Germans are Nazis are some kind of Nazis themselves. They hate the new generation of Germans for what they are born, not for what they did. Just like Jews were hated, bullied and even killed back then just for what they were "born" (which didnt even make sense, because Judaism is a religion, not a race)

I'm not saying what happened during those times wasn't horrible. I'm just saying it is wrong to blame people who were born DECADES after these events.

But i honestly like sojins part an i wouldnt change them for hyorin or soyous voice.

  93. You can say some k-netz are being assholes about this without using other people's tragedy, and it is completely ridiculous and offensive to say the comments are the same as government-endorsed death camps that hold thousands of innocents.

It's just sad how hypocritical some NB users are. "K-Netz are being super judgemental - quick!! accuse them of being the same as North Korean death camp guards!" Because it's not like that's an overreaction or an utterly horrid and untrue thing to say.

A lot of kids will know Seo Taiji and Le Ji Ah's history both as a couple and individually, this is the age of the internet and they are both rather huge pop culture icons. I'm not saying that any of the commenters must be children because you're right they're probably not, but to assume that none of them could possibly be teenagers seems a but much.

  109. Just because you were talking to one person doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want, especially on a public forum. You were trying to insinuate, imo, that there was something lesser about people who have to rely on their parents. You weren't just stating facts, you were trying to belittle a high school kid by saying she can't possibly know anything about the world because she is young and in the care of her parents. You also don't get to tell people that they're 'offended for no reason'. What a dick move.

  131. What the actual HELL @ the last two comments 2,6,7 and 8...!? I'm sure she didn't ask to be born into the family that she was. You can hate on her solely because of her family history..... That's so damn messed up.

  132. Glad Hyorin rejected the song, otherwise we wouldn't be able to hear her slay those fantastic resonant F5s in One Way Love.
Lol at uneducated people here spreading out their ignorance. Don't come for Hyorin's vocals when she has proven numerous times how well she understands and consistently follows the rules of vocal pedagogy. Minah is nothing but a screecher. I can't even consider her a vocalist because she holds no control over her instrument. Has she ever produced a resonant sound? has she ever produced a clean vocal line? Are there any ping in her low notes? Is her head voice existent, well-placed, supported and connected? Has she shown musicianship? No, no, no , no, no. Her technique is shit, so no wonder she sounds like she's being raped on stage whenever she tries for those high notes. That bitch can continue screaming and screeching out how much she wants and how many times she wants. One day, we're going to witness the excessive strain and lack of breath pressure from her, causing her basic larynx to escape out of her throat and fly out to God knows where, due to all that vocal pushing and hard glottal attack. I guess by then, she can do nothing but retire and join her BFF Ailee in whoring, hoodrating around, while taking nudes together. Though I don't think prostitution agencies would hire a mute girl, so she better just be a janitor at KFC and do nothing but scrub the floors to earn a living.

  133. They can't they are owned by SM, they merged with SM C & C who is an SM subsidiary. Wollim is just a name the company does not exist anymore. If SM were to go down, C & C would go down with it and Wollim by default. People keep forgetting that SM completely own Wollim now.

  134. SM: Misusing his status to their greediness
YG: Never sticking to his words. Not trustworthy
StarShip: Sketchy and shaky. Huge burden and risk
JYP: Lacks that drive in promoting aspect not that he needs it. From what i heard some of their staffs seems to laze around waiting for paychecks to arrive.

    ReplyDelete
  135. i heard they prerecorded for that already... we'll see what happens

    ReplyDelete
  136. he got pardoned by the president? and removed a high ranking offIcial in the government? isnt that enough evidence, that SM will get away with this aswell?

    ReplyDelete
  137. i heard that aswell, but apparently that had nothing to do with sm tax avoiding thing! it was too do with the government

    ReplyDelete
  138. Mind showing proof? this sound interesting as fuck o.o

  139. tbh everyones overeating! acting like this is the first for any company, i mean come on

  140. wow. if anything it's you that's trying to be a smartass. typical nb user

    ReplyDelete
  141. I hope she doesn't hold back on discussing the topics. She truly does have so much to talk about

    ReplyDelete
  142. Sadly, you can say the same for all Asian netizens.

    ReplyDelete
  143. really? Aren't korean artists appear a lot in japanese tv? Dramas, music shows, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Most revered by whom? Political division in Korea is no joke. Kim Daejung is a favorite punching bag for loads of conservatives.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I'd rather see him sign with Dream Tea and officially join Girl's Day.

    ReplyDelete
  146. It's something political, not at the level of ordinary people.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I'd rather him go to another agency...and more the companies that mainly handle actors like SidusHQ.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I'm not worried about the mc style companies wouldn't mess with Jae Suk since he a moneymaker. What I worry is that companies like SM would tell him no interacting with fans. SM and others definitely are strict about it. Jae Suk has always been a nice guy and good to his fans and I would hate to have one of a companies "body guards" hit a fan or tell him no.

  150. But I thought Happy Together is just undergoing a change up. Didn't know it was doing bad. I thought ratings have improved do to the midnight kitchen because that is now my fave segment from that show and it seemed quite popular.

    ReplyDelete
  151. you wow-ed just like Patrick did

  152. Just keep it. You're unique that way. LOL

  153. As understanding as I am when photos are leaked, SNSD's individual teasers for IGAB were all leaked after Seohyun's were released, they're just album jacket images. It's not like the whole album was leaked.

    ReplyDelete
  154. The comments don't even mention Africa. What are you talking about? They revolve around Yeeun only.

The article states that she's in Botswana.

    ReplyDelete
  155. To be honest, if he was able to afford time to put together a great team he could easily continue on as a free agent. However, for him he likely sees joining a big company easier since he is growing his family. But I rather him go with a company that handles actors rather a super company like SM. Starship is relatively small and not sure if they could fully care for Jae Suk. He does come with a heft price tag but I also seeing them throwaway the current artists to focus on Jae Suk, which is unfair. A company like Eden9 or SidusHQ would be great. They have a large roster with big names already.

    ReplyDelete
  156. lol, why are people acting like corporations and politics don't -in this day and age go hand in hand ... even the most powerfull countries in the world can sometimes be influenced by their biggest companies.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Not starship! Not SM....I rather YG too....

But he's too good for anyone

    ReplyDelete
  158. When will every netizen realize that LSM has no hold/say in SM anymore? If someone is going to jail its Kim Young Min (the current CEO) and not LSM. Give the old rich guy a break.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I can't take you seriously if you honestly think Hyorin has a bad voice. You might not like it, but to say it's bad is just untrue.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Your username probably has a lot to do with that.

    ReplyDelete
  161. The hate is due to the fact that many descendants of unpunished traitors have enjoyed wealth and prestige transferred from their parents or grandparents. Netizens want them to clearly admit that their grandparents did something wrong and feel sorry about it. These basic things weren't properly settled in chaotic and poor Korea after liberation and many traitors stayed in power and lived happily ever after. Netizens are basically venting out frustrations, which may sound unfair and mean to the offspring of the wealthy traitors. A lot of people just comment to vent out on the internet. They don't really care to be fair and technically correct.

    ReplyDelete
  162. It isn't charting because Girls Day sang it, it's charting because it's a good song. Look at the comments above, even k-netizens didn't really how their voices sounded on the song.

    ReplyDelete
  163. SidusHQ handles actors, musical artists and variety entertainers. They are more known for the actors. I see a perfect fit for Jae Suk there.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I'm actually crying with this post LOL
    SO FUNNY

    ReplyDelete
  165. Isn't that ironic, don't you think?

    ReplyDelete
  166. Definitely not SM
    Definitely not Starship
    Definitely not YG
    None big agency.
    Run Yoo Jae Suk !

    ReplyDelete
  167. definitely not YG! Even though my opinion doesn't really matter, I'd rather him go to an agency with actors over idols

    ReplyDelete
  168. She just did a drama last year, a musical that's running from 2013 until now, got her own production room at JYPE to develop her songwriting skills further and already got one of her songs released on Sunmi's album and now she's doing these variety. She's not exactly sitting around twiddling her thumbs

    ReplyDelete
  169. It's your personal taste, I like Oh My God. And of course nothing lasts forever is their best but I don't think they will be coming back to that concept again....and their debut song is the worst

    ReplyDelete
  170. tell me about it! i agree with you! i guess people dont know what politics is and how it is used everywhere even in business

    ReplyDelete
  171. LOL at the comments here saying "if he has to choose i prefer him to go to YG because they won't try to stick their artists to his tv-shows" xD
it's already what they are doing with SBS ! their artists only appear on it because they have some deal with the channel (and because YHS quarelled with theo ther channels), it's also exactly what they are doing when their artists go on radio, they always go to Yoo In Ha's radio because she is from YG.
because of their deal with SBS, Seungri is about to appear in one of their dramas, Yoo In Ha was in YWCFTS...
so please stop being hypocrite ! YG will do exactly what SM or any other big company would do.
Yoo Jae Suk needs to stay away from them at all costs !
but he is a smart guy and if like he said it would be easier for him to join a company then i hope he will go with a smaller one or at least one who is not idols centered.

    ReplyDelete
  172. He shouldn't even go to any idol agency..... KeyEast, Sidus, C-jes or maybe Mystic89 are better choices for him, any actor agency will do

    ReplyDelete
  173. when KHD joined SM C&C he didn't have any projects because nobody would take the risk to put him back on TV !

    ReplyDelete
  174. lmao ME TOO. I usually skip the whole talk part and only watch the Late Night Cafeteria part

I love night snacks. always have to eat at 1 am.

    ReplyDelete
  175. yeah just look at SBS...

    ReplyDelete
  176. just saying, i just found out that "thread lift" methode is exist, its make ur face slimmer by putting thread in ur face (?)/ im curious if sk use this too?

    ReplyDelete
  177. Wherever he goes, I just hope he will stay impartial to the guests and not favor a certain artist because they are from his companies. The reason why I only watch variety shows from him is because the way he is so fair to everyone.

Watching YJS since 2008, please chose well ~~

    ReplyDelete
  178. Is this the kid from that cute movie about the world cup?

  182. if i was her and i was reading these comments, i would not go because no matter what she says she will only get bashing from this.

    3. [+1,246, -62] She has nothing to gain from coming out on that show

    agree !

    ReplyDelete
  183. 4 shows. and a family. and he wants to have another child apparently

The reason why Tablo and Psy who were before in a one-man company joined YG was because they had too many bs to deal with and didnt have to care for their families.

    ReplyDelete
  184. it's just the photos not the album !
they would have have had to release anyway.
let's say that the teasing started earlier that's all.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Some people's minds are just so shallow. Whatever happened in the past is the past, it shouldnt involve the new generation and things are different back in the days. We as descendants will never understand how difficult it is for our ancestors to just protect themselves and their loved ones. We should learn to forgive and never let history repeat itself (war, fight amongst enemies, hatred, greed)

    ReplyDelete
  186. its took me for a while to understanding "
    gorilla" mean. lol

    ReplyDelete
  187. when i read this i thought about Soyu, i don't know much people from Thailand but Soyu was the first thing that crossed my mind lol

    ReplyDelete
  188. Bro. I think you've been brainwashed with all the WG = Sunye's fault.

Think about it, why the hell would JYP keep letting the hate go on Sunye and say that she is still a WG member and shit like that if they really care. They are media playing, using Sunye as a scapegoat so the blame of WG disbandment can go on her and EVERYONE get to overlook JYP poor-ass management (remember what Taec said). In the end, Sunye gets the hate and "exiles" to Haiti to do what she likes and gets cash without working since she is still with JYP, and JYP can keep their company image. People like jumping on hate trains, so they all keep saying its Sunye, while if you think about it objectively, why isnt JYP doing anything if they want to keep WG alive.

    ReplyDelete
  189. He is on a new show. and I think his wife wants to have another child.

So he will have a packed schedule, and have to take care of his family at the same time. I think he will be really tired and dont have time to deal with all the managing.
