He went all the way to BoA's Japanese concert to cast her and BoA accepted because she felt that dancing was her charm and she wanted to put it out there in art form. Unlike other dance movies, the movie isn't centered around just dance but has a plot. BoA plays the role of a Korean who was born in Japan and raised in America. She's the leader of a dance team. Her brother's club and Derek Hough's club are enemies and it's like a modern version of Romeo and Juliet.
