On a '2012 Teen Health Online Survey', 72,229 junior and high school students were surveyed, of which 80.7% were determined to be at a 'normal weight'.
35.6% of females still thought they were overweight, and 22.2% for males.
1. [+138, -14] This is the result of an image focused society. It'd be weird if they didn't think there was something wrong with them when all they see are chopstick celebrities stripping and shaking on TV.
2. [+122, -24] When you turn on the TV, all you see are stick thin girls perpetuating image stereotypes. Why do you think Hyuna's in the hospital? Yeah she was injured but I bet you it was also because she hasn't been getting all of the nutrients she needs. Her bones are probably as weak as chopsticks and her muscles are probably like cotton which makes her prone to more injuries. Is your outer image really more important than your health?
3. [+106, -12] Ever since skinny jeans became popular, people started trying to get mannequin bodies... If you're not morbidly overweight, try to have some confidence in your body...
4. [+34, -35] The bigger issue is fat people thinking they're normal weight and wearing mini skirts in the summer. Please stop that.
5. [+29, -4] I agree with the best replies about TV playing a part but I also think men have fault with the way they call girls ugly so easily and attack anyone over 50 kg for being non-human and treating them like criminals.
6. [+29, -2] How upsetting that it's our very own society that's making them think this way.
7. [+25, -1] I think every society in the world is image focused but none as bad as Korea... Korea has to be the only country that gives a fu*k about whether someone else is fat or short and then rags on them for it.
8. [+15, -5] I think our country's women are beautiful, it's just that they put themselves down too much
