"Miryo, whoaaaaaaaaaa......."
"Brown Eyed Girls daebak..."
"Miryo's just daebak..."
"Juniel's already writing her own songs.."
"I'm actually surprised about G.NA and Zinger."
"Miryo has more than most male idols."

MIRYO = 56 .. BEG FTW!!!! XD
ReplyDeleteWoah, yuri is there. I love mistake <3
ReplyDeleteMiryo and Jea I'm not surprised but WOW! I didn't know about Zinger :D
ReplyDeletelol i always thought that cl would have more cause bj always say how she is the best rapper and all that shit.
ReplyDeleteJuniel debuted last year in the first half and it's already in this ranking...She would be 2° if her japanese songs were counted.
ReplyDeleteis this for songwriting credits? because most of them don't actually do more than that and anytime a rapper writes their rap they get credited but they really didn't write the whole song
ReplyDeleteSadly kpop rappers don't even do that. If not you'd see many rappers there and there are not many... Also, It was revealed that Miryo writes the basic parts of many songs and before debuting as a rapper she was actually a lyricst for the hiphop group Honey Family.
DeleteMost likely from Zinger's underground days. ^^
ReplyDeleteMiryo is just awesome same as Jea in fact BEG r awesome LOL
ReplyDeleteOmg I didn't know she was underground. :)
ReplyDeleteYep. Her solo track from Secret's full album is counted in there too most likely. 'Amazinger'
ReplyDeletesome of the credits are sketchy. i mean credit where credit is due but writing 5 lines is not that much of a feat to me. im more impressed with compositions.
ReplyDeleteJeA also wins there ! BEG daebak!
Deleteyes it is. It could include their just their raps, but i'm sure a good deal are songs that they've written, you just haven't heard before
ReplyDeleteYeeun!
ReplyDeleteYeaaaahh~
Lyricist and composer!
DeleteI love all her compositions. JYP move aside please.
I thought IU wrote most of her songs and I am so happy for Raina and Bekah <3 Jea amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt actually makes sense. Miryo has a rap in every song and she writes her own raps and had a solo album. Jea has done a lot of production for BEG so i'm not surprised.
ReplyDeletetoo bad Gain is the most.
ReplyDeleteBEG!
ReplyDeletethey can produce their own girl group.
ReplyDeleteBekah! COME BACK </3
ReplyDeleteBekah isnt even an idol anymore.. they kicked her out bc of her looks.. she was too curvy for kpop..curvier than secret
ReplyDeletezinger's case is that she writes both lyrics & raps but they are counted as separate parts of the copyright. those she wrote lyrics for are in here but there are few songs that she wrote the rap for that are not included in her copyright list instiz posted (e.g. Love is Move). not too sure about other idols though :)
ReplyDeletenope zinger wasn't underground actually, all of these songs she gets songwriting credits for are for Secret's songs :) she helped write lyrics for most of the 1st Album & the Poison Mini
ReplyDeleteCL? What?
ReplyDeleteI don't get it, can someone please explain what this means?
ReplyDeleteWoah, I am so happy Juniel came out in the news without making netizens accused her for doing media play. She is daebak, and she is just a rookie.
ReplyDeleteOh, really? I keep seeing people mention that she was underground. Thanks for letting me know. :o
ReplyDeleteI knew CL didn't write her raps.
ReplyDeleteHahaha totally digging the name :)
ReplyDeleteThat was obvious every 2NE1 song is completely written by Teddy. The only raps CL wrote was her Leaders, What, and Addidas rap
ReplyDeleteCL who?
ReplyDeleteSo I guess this clears everything, Miryo is the Baddest Female Seoul City ever had, phonies to the left.
ReplyDeletereally surprise with Zinger... but i really like her rapp style..especially for "Amazinger"
ReplyDeleteI always thought she would have more considering how much she runs her mouth about "passion" and shit like that.
ReplyDeleteLove it, especially my Yeeun! ♥
ReplyDeleteI'm not that into 2ne1 so I didn't know.
ReplyDeleteYou should pay more attention. There is hardly anymore CL praise among blackjacks just blame and hate.
ReplyDeletePeople talk about 2NE1 being "empowering" to women and shit like that, but lets be real, the most empowering group is BEG. They are all around talented, they weren't formed by a company, they write and have control of their own music, they got that grown and sexy thing going for them and they are unique without trying hard. And for those who harp about how 2NE1 is not seen as "pretty" girls so that makes them so much better, shit neither is BEG.
ReplyDeletewoah BEG wasn't formed by a company? O_O i didn't know that..
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. But I think it's CL mostly that tries to make 2ne1 seem so empowering. The shit she says in interviews seems like she's feeling herself a little too much. Miryo >>>>>>>>>>>> CL.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's was formed by JeA- the leader. ^^
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of 2ne1's music but I feel the same way. CL is arrogant but she has no reason to be. People give her way too much credit. She's not the baddest female in Seoul city. But her fans especially Classifieds eat it up.
ReplyDeleteI avoid her interviews because for me she's trying to come off as someone she's not. She's trying to pretend she's passionate about music when really she's passionate about preforming, there's a difference. I remember one interview, she said she wanted to see her name up in lights and I think that's her goal. To be famous, not music itself, but coming from YG and being around people like GD, Tablo, Teddy, I think she feels it gives her some edge to speak about how she's so passionate about music and shit.
ReplyDeleteQueen Yenny <3 her songs so beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou make a valid point. I didn't think about it that way. She seems more passionate about fashion than music. Although her fashion is pretty questionable too but that a different conversation.
ReplyDeleteI think she's passionate about Fashion and being a performer because that's what she puts the most time into. I don't buy her passionate about music shit.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both XD.
ReplyDeletei think tasha can still beat Miryo however Miryo still sooooo damn awesome
ReplyDeleteWhoah Zinger :D
ReplyDeleteTasha is the baddest female South Korea ever had. Miryo gets a city. lol
ReplyDeleteLOL true XD
ReplyDeleteIt is about the number of songs they wrote or helped to write
ReplyDeleteLove Juniel! She writes and composes songs ever since. If only her Japanese songs are also counted. We'll see more of her :)
ReplyDeleteIU only has 10? Tbh, I expected more lol.
NB, how about male idols?! (though I know who's gonna top that list xx)
To enter your conversation, her style is kind of Rihanna rip-off to me, though Ri-Ri does it way better... And before BJ's come telling me Rihanna followed her on instagram, Rihanna follows a lot of her fans why wouldn't she follow someone who dresses just like her? :)
ReplyDeleteYou speak truth lol
ReplyDeleteJuniel composes and writes lyrics.
ReplyDeleteIt's like you guys are reading my mind.
ReplyDeletethis list must be incomplete since i see people with 1 credit, but don't see yubin who has at least 2. i think sooyoung has 1 credit too
ReplyDelete"Brown Eyed Girls daebak..."
ReplyDeletethe firs thing i thought, with the same words XD
I'm just happy I'm in here before CLassifieds start crying and shit but I've noticed it more and more, like damn, that the same shit Ri wears. Hairstyles too, like... really? When I read she wanted to do the shave thing Dara did, I was like, yep. I see what you're doing here...
ReplyDeleteI know Rihanna isn't the only one to do hairstyle but she has a pretty distinct style imo, and when you top of style + the hair... yeah.
1-GD 2-ZICO probably(?)
ReplyDeleteThough it comes to me as no surprise that BEG members are writing many songs since they're so talented, they really deserve more recognition than they receive and are still very underrated unfortunately. What songs have they written?
ReplyDeleteYenny!!! <333
ReplyDeleteYeh that's right, as far as I know, NegaNetwork offered JeA a contract, but she had to assemble the members herself & everything ^^
ReplyDeleteI am a 2ne1 fan but I'll try to speak objectively. I don't understand why everyone thinks that singers have to produce their own songs. I mean it is amazing when a singer can produce and sing well but I don't think a singer has to produce music to be qualified as a singer (some famous/respected singers don't produce their own music). I think 2ne1 with their confidence (not just through the music but through the stage performances) are good role models for females.
ReplyDeleteThey receive less recognition internationally yes, agreed; they are way bigger in their home country, but that's where it counts I guess(?). Either way, no denying they're still in Top 10 Girlgroups right? Says something on it's own that ^^
ReplyDeleteShe actually only started rapping when she joined TS Ent. Pretty good though, huh? She writes her parts on Secret's songs so yayy Zinger.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and 3 unnies chose the maknae to complete BEG. ^^
ReplyDeleteTS got a gem right there, wow.
ReplyDelete& so began the legacy of BEG :') ..♥
ReplyDeleteMiryo- JeA♥= Abracadabra, L.O.V.E, Sign, Sixth Sense, Candy Man, Moody Night, One summer night, We Fell in Love...
ReplyDeleteLol, agree. You don't have to compose/write music to be considered a "good singer". Your voice/technique/how you convey a song makes you a good singer. Composition just happens to be another talent.
ReplyDeleteBeast's Junhyung has about 29-30 songs registered. For idols, he might be second, next to G-Dragon. CN Blue's Yonghwa is also working his way up there. Unsure of where Zico ranks because Block B is still fairly new, and he probably didn't register his underground stuff, so they wouldn't be counted. Unofficially, he'd probably be second.
ReplyDeleteYes, but when Blackjacks or YG stans try to call 2NE1 artists, that's when there's a problem, singers sing and artists create. & For CL to be a rapper and not write most if not all of her raps, it's a joke and people, please don't compare singing to rapping because they were built off of two different foundations and they are two separate ways of expression. You wouldn't compare Tupac to Whitney Houston.
ReplyDeleteAs far as their image goes, it's a nice illusion but the base of it is a complete sham. We're strong women standing up for the girls and representing independence - oh yeah but a man produces and writes our songs, we were formed by a male and are styled by men. I think it's obvious YG made 2NE1 for those sole reason of thinking he could make money off of a group of girls that are opposite to SNSD or Wondergirls.
"Miryo has more than most male idols."
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of sexist. Are males somehow more artistically inclined?
"Miryo has more than most male idols."
ReplyDelete...are men supposed to be more gifted at writing lyrics and such??
:I
I say GD, Junhyung, Yonghwa
ReplyDeleteAhh no, Kim Eana has written IU's Promoted singles since 'Good Day'. Kim Eana rose to prominence as a lyricist after having written BEG's 'L.O.V.E' & then following that 'Abracadabra' (with Miryo writing all her own parts). BEG & Kim Eana are actually really good friends, but LOEN & NegaNetwork both are close as a label friendship so they share her as a lyricist (she's also written for Sunny Hill ^^). The more you know ^^
ReplyDeleteThere isn't even much rapping in 2NE1 songs. Most of it is just singing with a slight twang. I'm sure CL wants to write her own raps but 2NE1 style doesn't call for it. When she did her solo performance in Nolza, you can see she has a lot to give and she is a great performer. It's a strange assumption to suggest that she isn't passionate about music just because she doesn't write her raps in 2NE1 songs.
ReplyDeleteI still don't get this comparison to Rihanna when they really don't dress all that alike, and I don't see why Rihanna would follow CL solely because she's a fan when CL rarely cites Rihanna as her inspiration and doesn't even follow her. If anything, it would seem like Rihanna is the fan of CL.
There is also this misconception that CL is arrogant, if any of you took the time out to watch 2NE1 TV, you would see that it is the opposite. She doesn't claim any writing credit and is always keen to thank Teddy Oppa in acceptance speeches. She's only 22 and has plenty of time to start song-writing and make a name for herself as a rapperr. Right now, she is the leader of 2NE1 and does a great job of it.
AND YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT, I am defending CL because the sudden negativity against her is ridiculous seeing as she never once ever claimed that she wrote in 2NE1 songs. However, if she gets the rare opportunity todo something away from 2NE1. She DOE write he own parts. She is clearly capable she just doesn't get the opportunity to.
In before I get called a butt hurt blackjack, get told to take a seat, YG stans are so deluded and all your other dogmatic responses.
Preach, I was ready to rant but your calm and collected comment made me think otherwise.
DeleteIt's clear on NB (those commenting) though that there's a YG sentiment regardless of the context of the blog post.
Agreed. It seems that since CL does not write most of her raps that this makes her less of a rapper. People fail to realize that CL herself does want to take part in the songwriting process but wants it to be perfect before she puts it out there. Obviously these things take time and she might be practicing. Plus I don't understand why people are riled up about her being called the baddest female. It's just a title that anyone can call themselves.
DeleteWow, honestly didn't know about G.NA. I need to look this up
ReplyDeleteI think they missed XYZ which is also Yuri's work.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, BEG FTW!!!! <3
Zingerrr ♥
ReplyDeletewow miryo....
ReplyDeletePersonally I'd rather female empowerment not always be attached to women who "own their sexuality" by having mature and sexy concepts that appear to not just cater to men (though they probably still appeal to the male gaze in many or most cases). It's possible to recognize that women can also desire and enjoy sex while still thinking it should be a private thing and not something to be flaunted, distorted, and/or cheapened by media.
ReplyDeleteYEEUN!!<3 love my BEG and Sunny Hill girls too!
ReplyDeleteBut owning your sexuality is deciding how you want to be seen regardless of social standards is empowerment. Women can flaunt it or they can keep it sacred, it's their choice and that's the central theme of women empowerment, choices and the ability to be the way you want without chastisement and with confidence. Women empowerment MUST and SHOULD ALWAYS be attached to owning their sexuality. It's being you're own woman. As you said you can be conservative and own your sexuality or you can flaunt it. But at the end of the day a woman should own her sexuality and not fall into the manipulated views that men have passed down from the dawn of time, views that have been branded into the minds of women and make them more vicious towards each other.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't both be empowering? I actually look up to both groups as inspirational.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Minzy, Bom, and Dara are really humble in their interviews... I think CL got infected with Jeremy Scott's Jackass Disease.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually the Korean media that put the label on them. Blackjacks just go off of what they are called by the media. Nothing more.
ReplyDeleteAs for 2NE1 being role models for women--you don't need to write your own music to represent them. The Spice Girls didn't write all their songs, but they are often seen as pioneers when it came to female empowerment.
Ga-in was recruited though, by someone from Nega after she failed to make it through on Battle Shin Hwa. I think it was a composer to invited her to audition. JeA, Narsha, and Miryo chose her from the auditions.
ReplyDeleteNarsha and JeA were acquainted in high school and that's how Narsha was recruited.
Miryo had already made a name for herself as a rapper, and JeA chose her.
I think it was in this order: Miryo, Narsha, Ga-in. I might be wrong.
Junhyung would probably be second... but he'd be trailing by a lot...
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_written_by_G-Dragon
^ Check it out. The list is massive.
Plus, he composed songs for CFs which earns about as much as a top-selling single even though they're not more than 45 seconds long.
second is probably top but yg doesn't publicize it, so people don't know. iirc he has more than 50 credits.
DeleteTBH people take that title way too srsly. It's only something cool and catchy sounding that made it's way into 2NE1's lyrics and that stuck with the fandom. It actually originates from one of the first YG rap features CL did in which she rhymes "CL, the baddest female". I guess they liked it so much they kept using it. It doesn't actually mean anything. I d k if ppl actually realize this or. You never know with kpop fans.
ReplyDeleteMiryo <3 That's my girl~
ReplyDeleteI didn't say 2NE1 can't be empowering, I said BEG is the most. If you look up to both that's fine. But BEG is the most empowering considering they are women who actually do for themselves instead of women who have things done for them. They're not just mouth pieces sent to spout out about women empowerment.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeletePeople take it seriously because CL's fans take it seriously...at least until someone points out someone who is more talented then CL then of course it's "just a silly title"
ReplyDeleteNo. The Korean media refers to them as Idols. Int'l fans are on this YG is an "artist" territory and are strung up on insisting 2NE1 are artists.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, nice illusion. I'd rather have women who talked about independence and empowerment who actually practice it. It's a nice image, but where's the depth? Where are they practicing what they preach? Yes, but the spice still wrote songs.
The Korean Media does not call them artists. If anybody in the media does it's YG when hes on his ego trip, but the media doesn't see them as artists and neither do netizens.
ReplyDeleteSo what? YG saw a market opportunity and took it. But it also came with a high risk of failure. For an industry with such a high standard for good looks and cute, they could have been a total failure. In fact, YG did try to make a '2NE1' earlier in the days (Swi.T) and they totally tanked.
ReplyDeleteAnd that doesn't stop girls from being inspired by them. I think people are more inspired by the way they perform and express themselves. Sure, it'd be nice if they were more involved in their production and maybe they'll get there someday. Either way, they were a step in the right direction and I think they made the industry realize that you could be something else than a)morbidly cute or b)insanely sexy to survive in the kpop industry as a girl group. (:
Isn't it kind of sexist to said males are more artistically inclined?
ReplyDeleteWell for all we know, she could be producing music and it's not being released. Some people are also passionate about music but just don't have the gift to write it. She's not taking credit for anything she's saying she just feels passionate about music. How is this arrogant? So if I say I'm passionate about movies and I don't direct, I'm obviously not passionate about movies? If I say I'm passionate about fashion, and don't design, I'm not passionate either? You don't have to create an art form to appreciate it. As far as I know CL never claims credit for things she hasn't done so you are really reaching with your statements.
ReplyDeleteSWI. T was a TLC clone. Not a "2ne1"
ReplyDeleteBut they are cute and they did come out with a sexy image. Chair dances, little one piece bathing suits... the whole nine, they are sexy and they are cute girls, they are not these super tomboyish bap version of a female group that put out straight up hip-hop music, that's more of a risk than anything. That something Korea has yet to see.
They are not this extreme people try to make them out to be, they are somewhere in the middle.
And a part of women empowerment is knowing that there's absolutely nothing wrong with being cute or sexy, and I don't think that concept has reached their fans yet.
Did I say she was arrogant? No, I did not. I'm not reaching with my statement because you saying she never takes credit has NOTHING to do with what I'm saying. I'm talking about her passion towards music, I never said anything about her claiming credits, so I honestly don't know what the fuck you're talking about. You seem to be reaching here.
ReplyDeleteIf you're passionate about movies, you put effort into movies and something about movies, whether it be screenplays, directing, producing. If you're passionate about fashion, you put effort into fashion and generally, people who are passionate about fashion become designers or at least market fashion. Do you understand what passion is? You love something so much that you put effort into it and try to progress yourself in that area. You submerge yourself in that field because that's what you love and that's what you're passionate about. If CL was passionate about music, her vocals wouldn't be regressing and neither would her rapping. If she was passionate about music she's be hauling ass trying write and YG would milk that shit because he loves to throw the title "artist" on his idols. Yet she submerges herself in fashion and she's a great preformer because...ding... ding... THOSE ARE THE THINGS SHE'S PASSIONATE ABOUT. Keep trying though.
Uhm WOW. When was "baddest female" /ever/ congruent with "most talented female"? I'm actually a 2NE1 fan and the fandom just uses it as a catch phrase thing. Just like Beyonce fans call her Queen B. Just like SNSD fans call them "9 godesses". It's just a fandom meme that stuck. The only people I ever see taking it seriously are pressed haters.
ReplyDeleteyeah bc only songwriters can ever be passionate about music
ReplyDeleteYeah MInzy, Bom and Dara are pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteRaina~ <3 Bekah~! <3
ReplyDeletetrue:)
ReplyDeleteNah both Swi.T and 2NE1 were heavily influence by TLC. I'm saying this as a TLC fan as well. I have a feeling Teddy was a huge TLC fan himself. I liked them a lot as well and was pleased to discover 2NE1 who is like them in many aspects albeit they are a lot more watered-down and more mass-produced. I don't think there will ever be a female group as raw as TLC.
ReplyDelete2NE1 are cute and sexy but that is not their general image. I think their image is pretty dynamic but it revolves around 'fierce'. Everything about them is kind of in your face. Styling, songs, MVs, performance etc. Unlike the usual caricatures of the virgin demure girl group or the diirtyyy sexayyy minxes both of which had always been used to cater primarily to the Korean male audiences. The expectation being 1) males will like them 2) females will want to be like them (bc males like them) or enjoy their girly songs etc idk. With 2NE1 it's kind of different. They've almost never unanimously had the support/approval of Korean male fans yet they managed to do very well for themselves in the industry proving u don't need it to survive. For which other very popular female groups/solos can u say that for? Obv, 2NE1 have male fans but no one really fawns over in the "oh u r so sexcy and pretty and so IDEAL as a woman I just wanna bang u and u should be pleased with urslef that I feel this way about u, me, the all-important alpha male".
Also they did come out fresh of debut with a lot of hip hop-based songs like "Pretty Boy" and "Fire" and "Please Don't Go". It WAS something refreshing to the kpop scene back then. There were no girl groups like them at the time. They are a tons more now which I enjoy. Female idol group rappers have kind of stepped up their game too.
And despite everything I'm saying I fully know that there is nothing wrong with being cute/sexy. I enjoy a very good dose of sexy and cute girl groups myself and see nothing wrong with them as groups. But I also like more representation of women, not just selling the aspects that please the general male. Alas, this is a problem with all pop music industries.
cl is cute :)
ReplyDeleteyou hate cl ...
ReplyDelete"Well for all we know, she could be producing music and it's not being released." And no, you can be passionate about an art form and purely appreciate it. I am genuinely passionate about fashion and movies but I also know I have no gifts to direct or design or w/e. I can only piece together outfits to express myself or watch movies. Doesn't mean I'm less passionate about it. What you are saying doesn't make sense. In your sense of the word, people would only be able to be passionate about a few things because obviously it would also need to be their occupation. In your world, there are no fanatics, critics, or bloggers either. Needless to say, it's oversimplified solely for the purpose to pick on a neutral comment CL said.
ReplyDeleteThe list contains female idols and Tasha isn't one so maybe if there's another list with rappers or singers, we'll see?
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of blackjack fans have used it before and not just a fandom meme kind of way.
ReplyDeleteJuniel my baby
ReplyDeleteBut thats what all singers are called. Categories of music awards use the title artists of the year or rookie artist award. I think YG stans call 2NE1 artists because they do have a more significant input in their fashion, music and image compared to other artists. I mean how many times do you hear idols talking about songs they didn't want to promote (i.e. Taeyeon and Oh!) and promote concepts they didn't like (i.e. Orange Caramel and Magic Girl). I don't think 2NE1 has released anything they didn't fully love. I still consider 2NE1 rookies, they have only released 2 mini albums and a single full album, they have so much more talent to show. CL has written raps before and they have been pretty sick. I'm sure in future releases she will participate more in the writing of her raps. Minzy also showed on 2NE1TV that she was learning how to compose music so I think they are leaning towards producing their own music. But as CL nicely put it in a recent interview, she doesn't want to released self-produced music if Teddy is already producing music of a much high quality. As for the money-making, all artists want to make money. Its a well known fact most CEOs/producers are male. But I think the important thing is that 2NE1 are not forced to wave lollipops and sing to their "oppas".
ReplyDeleteNb, can you do a male idol list too (if there is any)? many thanks
ReplyDeletewell they are a sunbae of 2ne1. so comparing them both is just so out of place.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I can't stand when people call beg idols.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite possibly the most ridiculous comment in this article.
ReplyDeleteThere are millions of people around the world who love to sing. They do it at home. They do at it work. They do it in the shower. They do it at a karaoke lounge. Despite knowing that they'll never be as good as Whitney Houston, and people telling them that they're bad, their passion is what allows them to keep doing it.
And, for the record, she is "hauling ass" and writing music. She wants to release a solo record, 'cause...you know, she's passionate about music.
The next time you start spewing nonsense about something, at least know what you're talking about. Sit your ass down.
They chose to conform. They wouldn't be where they are now had they chosen to stay the way they were. It's the price you pay.
ReplyDeleteThey don't. They know what CL is like off the stage. She is very far from being the BF. There's a name for this--it's called a stage persona.
ReplyDeletechorong?!! what song?!! tell me tell me tell me :3
ReplyDeleteI'm not shocked by BEG having control of their music. I always loved their company Nega Network for allowing them to reach their full potential artistically instead of trying to turn them into puppets.
ReplyDeleteLol I'm a vip,, which basically should know YG more than you
ReplyDeleteBut you seem to know 2ne1 a lot, like aLOT
Hehe, just saying
I thought Yuri had written 3 songs: Mistake,XYZ(with Seo) and Baby Maybe(with Soo and Seo)...Anyway so proud of her!
ReplyDeleteAnd Zinger <3
Yuri is a really good writer,"Mistake" is beautiful, and her words on albums "Thanks to" are full of wisdom,I hope she continue writing beautiful things and she gets some recognition too ^^
ReplyDeletei think yuri has 3
ReplyDeletemistake, baby maybe, and xyz
and i kinda expected miryo and jea on top
miryo and jea composed song are awesome!
especially the latest BEG single, jea jjang!
i like yuri and juniel song too :3
Is there a reason so many people on this site are so salty about CL? damn. You can be "passionate" about music and fashion without writing or producing music. CL has never claimed to be some lyrical genius so y'all need to stop. Also I feel like it's 2010 with so many people bringing up "Blackjacks think she's the baddest female blah blah blah". yeah blackjacks say that and it is a title we use for her. No it does not mean we think she's the most talented or better than whichever female idol you lot love. Fans have nicknames for all their faves so chill out. Oh and I saw someone comment about blackjacks saying 2ne1 were artists. Lol when/where does this still happen in big numbers or are you actually stuck in 2010?
ReplyDeleteWhat about BoA?
ReplyDeletelol but some of these girls never composed a song, just wrote lyrics (probably with the help of someone) like Yuri and probably some others... I mean, they should just count when it's actually composing a song & lyrics and everything. Yuri composed 0 songs.
ReplyDeleteSooyoung should have two: How great is your love, Baby Maybe
ReplyDeleteActually Yuri helped wrote a song by herself and helped in more two songs, total 3.
ReplyDeleteSooYoung wrote one by herself and helped in another one, total 2.
SeoHyun helped in 2 songs, same with Tiffany.
Jessica helped in Dancing Queen.
SNSD have a total of 8,while CL the girl with passion, the "ARTIST" have only 2.
Blackjacks are indeed really funny/
BEG always shuts it down. They're just a fabulous foursome all around. Miryo.......girl you betta work 'cause you real bad.
ReplyDeleteShe wrote "April 19th" on the Une Anee album.
ReplyDeleteYeEun my queenie <3<3<3
ReplyDeletelove her songs...gotta wait for another songs from her....^^
BEG - awesome !!! O.O
It's funny how you have to throw your shade upon CL. So does only having written two songs and being out for almost four years, two years less than SNSD, and THREE years less than BEG mean that CL's any less passionate than SNSD or BEG? What truly defines an artist? Someone who writes their own songs? If so, there should be a good amount of rookies who must be more artistic than some of the greatest names in the K-POP industry.
ReplyDeleteAnd here people are throwing shade at CL as if it were nobody's business. What has SHE, an innocent person done to deserve people's hatred?
Sadly, they don't have much control over that and you can blame their "up upon their high-horse" CEO for that. CL even stated that she would like to release her own solo album in which she would have a LOT of input into it (most likely with the help of Teddy) so that she can broadcast a side of CL that people don't see. And then you saw how quick Hyun Suk was to repeal that with a later statement to "make clarifications."
ReplyDeleteAlso CL wrote songs as shown before. She also penned lyrics to things she covered, but I guess that's also not included in here. If so, the number definitely should've been higher. It's sad that she can't write for 2NE1, so to some degree the "depth" that you're looking for in CL is there. She's written songs. Fun songs and empowering songs. The other girls in 2NE1 may have not "practiced what they preach," but CL when solo has. And if the CEO of the company says you can't do something, how can they overstep their boss' rules?
JeA hand-picked every last member in BEG from what I heard.
ReplyDeleteWhat "shit she says in interviews?" Please inform me what she says that is SO wrong in her interviews.
ReplyDeleteThat's because in all honesty, they're hardly talking at all. CL even had to encourage the other girls sometimes to speak up. And yet CL gets all this hate. It is so unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteWho's to say she hasn't? Who are you to assume that she hasn't been writing when she's already stated that she does that with what spare time she already has?
ReplyDeleteI believe THIS clarifies that she's been "hauling ass:"
"I'm planning to have my solo album out this year, after 2NE1. I was looking back and thinking, 'I want to have something personal for me.' With 2NE1, it's not personal because it's not only about me; it's about all the members. We're more about influencing the world. But I have so many things I want to say. I have this other side of me that people didn't meet in 2NE1."
Any time CL's brought up the idea of she having a solo album, it's been shot down by Hyun Suk. In fact, when she brought it up again in her February interview (quoted above), it was quickly repealed by Hyun Suk, just to have him say that 2NE1's comeback MIGHT be in the first half of 2013 (rather than the promised March or April) and that CL's solo album is currently not on the schedule right now.
CL's TRYING. She's keenly aware of the hate she gets (like on this site). She's aware that people miss 2NE1. She's aware of trying to expound 2NE1 and broadcast her talents (in fact, all of the girls in 2NE1 have stated their own personal endeavors they want to get into plenty of times), but if she can't get the boss' "okay," what else can she do?
You inform me what she can do when her hands are tied.
I disagree, 2NE1's songs (which is written by Teddy) may preach "empowerment" (though IMO it just preaches manhate, BUT TO EACH THEIR OWN), but a lot of their performances are very sexual in nature, just like most idol groups. And the whole sexy thing, I mean, come on, that's like Bom's middle name when it comes to performing.
ReplyDeleteShe's arrogant? Okay. Let me give you a low down about how "arrogant" she is:
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to performances, more than any other member she is the first one to thank an audience and bow. The first gif is of a 2010 performance of "Can't Nobody." The second, is of a 2012 performance of "ILY."
CL has an undeniable love for orphans. 2NE1 was designated to spend only up to an hour max at a shelter for orphans that they attend sometimes. 2NE1 stayed there for THREE HOURS over the time limit that they were supposed to stay because CL was THAT attached to the children there. She's also handed out the children of YGE (Tablo's daughter and Hyun Suk's daughter) books for them to read.
CL, someone who doesn't typically show her more vulnerable side cried when Blackjacks sent her fan-mail and gave her reasons why she was beautiful for her birthday and just on and off fan-mail.
“For CL, blackjacks.. they’re my friends and family. They’re just like a part of me. For our 3rd anniversary they wrote a letter telling me the reasons why i am beautiful and when i read that i thought they really love me. Although it’s not my style to cry, i cried a lot by myself."
CL went so far as to gather her friends to help her create slippers for the other 2NE1 members in secret and spent HOURS creating them into the wee hours of the morning and left them there inside their dorm to surprise the other 2NE1 members forgoing sleep regardless of their busy schedule as rookies (see 2NE1 tv season one and the instagram message where G-Dragon brings that up again).
CL sewed Dara's beloved Tahm-Tahm doll and gave it to her as a present because she loved Dara that much and called her her best friend.
But a woman like this MUST be arrogant and cocky and nothing short of that.
@honestybitch:disqus Here is the photo proof:
ReplyDeleteIf you want any more pictures, just type in CL and orphans and countless photos will come up.
I swear I think everyone here has a personal vendetta against CL who has literally done nothing wrong to them, and yet you guys rag on her like nobody's business. Whatever she says in your eyes is wrong, wrong, wrong.
The CL hate here is too sad...
ReplyDeletemiryo, Misung, Kota and Jubi, fighting!! theyre awesomeee
ReplyDeleteShe also wrote the song "Hip-Hop Freaks" when 2NE1 first debuted.
ReplyDeleteAll idols are getting hate ... so get over it , plus CL isn't even close to the most hated ones !!!!
ReplyDeleteI love BEG but they are the worst example of getting fame and being respected as singers.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who knows me knows I am not against plastic surgery whatsover but BEG had change their faces, image and music to become famous.
Are one of the biggest examples of selling sex to be popular even if it means making bad music. I love the group I do but they are far from showing female empowerment. Since there company exploited them for just a bit of fame that they lost respect from allot of people
lol so ok only someone who writes music is passionate about it? i can't. You all just use excuse you can to hate on CL.
ReplyDeleteBlackjacks have been trowing shades at SNSD everywhere in this comment section ("But I think the important thing is that 2NE1 are not forced to wave lollipops and sing to their "oppas".") the girls haven't done anything to get blackjacks hate on them like this ....it's always when 2NE1 is being hated on that you guys are trowing up the "they are still better then SNSD" card
ReplyDeleteit's really sad
I literally went through the comment section and those were the ONLY two examples of of shade being thrown at SNSD. Compared to ALL the bashing comments about CL.
ReplyDeleteI honestly have not seen a bunch of Blackjacks ganging up on SNSD in the comment section so stop with the SONE "Woe is me" moment.
You're saying "a lot of Blackjacks" while in the comment section I've only seen two throw shade." Two is not "a lot."
It's not fair for any side to talk shit about the other, but frankly, look through this comment section again. Look at how much hate there is for CL in comparison to SNSD.
There is literally a vendetta against CL in this comment section. PERIOD. A stark contrast to a minimum of a FEW shady comments about SNSD.
Yes, she is. Or did you miss this entire comment section? Regardless of if all idols get hate, does this justify the fact that people should continuously rag on CL as if being an idol is a crime for her?
ReplyDeleteNo. So don't tell me to get over it, when an innocent woman is being attacked for doing her job.
Where is that interview? I've never seen her say "She wants her name up in lights?"
ReplyDeleteCould you link me please?
It's not just here, sadly its everywhere :(
ReplyDeleteDo you have examples of this?
ReplyDeletei really don't understand why people are making it seem as if two goes hand and hand..it doesn't. a writer is a writer..simple. without the passion and skill the song will be just a song.
ReplyDeletenot every singer can write songs and not every writer can sing the songs they write. that's why they are acknowledged separately in the music world.
Which is sad. It's like everything CL does, she has to be hated on. There wasn't much hatred on Bom when she got not one, but TWO solos and mentioned that she wanted to do endorsements like Dara did. There wasn't that much hatred on Dara when she got a solo song and many endorsement offers.
ReplyDeleteBut when CL mentions on having a solo album or talking about 2NE1 in general and plans, it's like the world must find every single fault in her and hate her for it. And that she comes off as an all around cocky and arrogant being who only lives for herself and wants all the fame and hogs all the fame for herself despite being only the third most popular member in 2NE1 in South Korea.
The hatred for her is pathetic.
I'm not talking about this comment section only. It's like this on other websites that is why is said it . I should have been voice it out better but i'm sorry i can't speak in english . Sorry but i really like 2ne1 it's just that i have seen so many blackjacks talking not very nicely about snsd and when people are hating trowing up the snsd card not only here !
ReplyDeletegreat comment
ReplyDeleteBut I AM talking about this comment section since this is the website I'm talking about and that we're on. Other sites remain irrelevant to this conversation. In general I know that many immature Blackjacks have not spoken greatly about SNSD, and vice versa many SONEs have not spoken nicely about 2NE1. No one knows how the Blackjack-SONE war started (but the traces do go back to when 2NE1 beat SNSD for the first time), but fighting fire with fire will solve NOTHING.
ReplyDeleteI understand that you aren't a part of this, however, I hope other certain people who are throwing all this shade and hate about CL learn that as well.
She's not cocky. She's not arrogant. And she's not out for just "fame." She wouldn't have spent 3 months at a time for three years straight making tapes for Hyun Suk to listen to when she was trying to get into YGE, then finally go to the YGE headquarters herself and shove the tapes in Hyun Suk's face for him to listen to if she weren't passionate about music.
Agreed. I notice that even fellow "blackjacks" were not happy for CL when she announced possibly getting a solo album. Most of the comments consisted of "I would rather a Minzy solo tbh or a Bom solo." I don't understand how people just rag on the littlest things in her statements and turn them into her being arrogant. I'm just tired of seeing all the CL hate everywhere I turn when she isn't doing anything wrong to deserve so much hate.
ReplyDeleteIt's as if they just want her to be shut out completely. The dongsaeng line barely get anything in comparison to Dara and Bom and yet it's CL who gets the hate. All the girls deserve something and when CL wants something people hate her for it. It's as if she can't have any desires and she's wrong to have them.
ReplyDeleteShe can't do anything. :/ I'm still waiting for these people who ragged on CL to respond. Nothing.
They obviously have no basis for their claims. They make it their point to make CL out to be the bad guy in every situation when she is simply only trying to make good music and please the fans. I sense no arrogance in any of her statements just someone who enjoys performing for fans. Yet people will always try to make a big thing out of nothing. You can never win with some of these people especially on this site.
ReplyDeleteoh wow, thank you ^^
ReplyDeleteYou preach nothing but the truth. And it's sad that it happens even in the Blackjack fandom? The place where you would think CL would get the most love and support has so called "Blackjacks" turning their backs on one another. There is barely any Blackjack fandom anymore just CLassifieds/CLovers, Minjas, Bomshells, and Daralings whose biases all happen to promote within the same group.
ReplyDeletePeople will always try and make a mountain out of a mole-hill. If anyone from YG Entertainment who isn't a senior member such as Teddy, Gummy, or Tablo (someone who these anti-YG people KNOW they can't rag on about not being talented) who makes a statement, people will forever take it out of context and call them "arrogant" or "cocky." Always the sad reality. Especially on this site.
Its saddening that even those who try to defend CL are constantly being ridiculed and called YG stans and being bias. I would defend each and every single member of 2ne1 if I feel as though they are being badmouthed without any valid reason, but for some blackjacks I feel that they would not do the same. I'm starting to think that blackjacks are the most disconnected fandom based on some of their actions especially when CL announced her solo it was pathetic. I just hope that CL releases her solo album and shuts everyone and their negative comments up.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's anything wrong with telling both men and women that there are certain things they shouldn't do if they fall outside the boundaries of morality. Guys shouldn't look at porn; women shouldn't present themselves in a way that objectifies themselves; men shouldn't sing about hitting women or treating them poorly; etc. None of those things benefit the individuals/society and can actually be damaging. Societal values will probably never be perfect, but some things that are looked down upon make sense and should continue to be looked down upon while some things that are forgiven shouldn't be.
ReplyDeleteOh my god! You need to calm down. What is written on this forum has very little bearing on CL's life. Im am willing to bet my job that she doesnt even know this blog exists.
ReplyDeleteWe know she is your bias but tone it down a notch.
My comment was made how many hours ago? I do believe I'm calm now.
ReplyDeleteAbracadabra may have been their breakthrough hit but they were already popular before. L.O.V.E and How Come did really well on the charts.
ReplyDeleteBesides, they went back to their roots with Six Sense (Which did better digitally than Abracadabra) which proves that they don't have to "sell sex" to get recognized as musicians.
They aren't underrated, at least in Korea. They could care less about international fans.
ReplyDeleteif the netizens count japanese songs, JUNIEL wil definitely have more than just 7 copyrighted songs. 7 (kr) + 25 (jp) = 32 songs
ReplyDeleteaccording to knetizens, tasha is the queen of all rappers. she even topped her husband lol
ReplyDeleteNot to forget Bang Yongguk. He got 38 songs registered under his name including the songs he composed & wrote when he was with Soul Connection
ReplyDeleteWell they had to do what they had to do get recognized. TBH I'm glad they did because if they didn't the group would have disbanded in 2008 (according to JeA). People like to cling to Abracadabra to say that they stopped focusing on their vocals but if people actually listened to all their 2009 and onward discography they still very much retain the R&B/soul sound that they had (Vendetta,The ugly truth,I'll do well,Can't go,One summer night,Come with me,etc).
ReplyDeleteI've been to Korea especially in 09 and Abracadabra blew them up they weren't that popular no matter what international media says, the song didn't blow them up per say it was the dance, even now they are still pretty underrated except for Ga In.
ReplyDeleteWow SUNNY HILL JJANG!!!!
ReplyDeleteMisung, Kota and Jubi JJANG!!!
Fighting~
3 yongs :D
ReplyDeleteWait...I'm so confused...at first when I read the title I thought all the female idols listed are people with the most copyrighted songs as in THEY copyrighted songs but seeing all the compliments I'm confused...?
ReplyDeleteWait...I'm confused...so did THEY copyright the songs or did SOMEONE copyright THEIR song?
ReplyDeleteZinger !
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of depressing how little there is except for Miryo. I hope more female artists get in there and make their mark.
ReplyDeleteIts sad the females don't have as many as the males :(
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised with Yuri. she's really good at words. her thanks to alone in their albums are always beautifully written.. her mistake was a very good song.. the lyrics are heart felt. I hope she does more.
