The Korean Entertainment Producer's Association is accusing Infinity Challenge songs of becoming a corporate media octopus (whatever that means) that is disrupting the digital music charts, lessening genre diversity, and creating a negative effect on the growth of Hallyu.
They accuse the show of using their influence and popularity as a TV program to their advantage to easily infiltrate the music market, thus leaving less room for actual music producers. In order to continue the growth of Hallyu, they demand that Infinity Challenge respect the boundaries of music producers.
1. [+1,853, -50] Then what about singers becoming a detriment to the roots of the acting industry?
2. [+1,579, -47] Then what about the idols that use their popularity and fandoms to put out crappy acting?ㅎㅎㅎ
3. [+1,487, -45] Then what about the idols that are taking over the dramas with their crappy acting, leaving no room for rookie actors????
4. [+271, -5] The vice-chairman of KEPA is CCM Kim Kwang Soo
5. [+220, -5] I'm seriously at a loss for words. Then shouldn't they be blocking idols from starring in dramas and movies? Since when were there such "boundaries" that needed to be protected? A singer that stars in a drama is a multi-entertainer but a gagman that sings is crossing a boundary? Talk about running your foot in your mouth. And I'm sorry, but the choice of what's allowed and not allowed is up to the public. Good music will be enjoyed no matter what you try to do.
6. [+194, -2] They're whining about sharing their bowl of food with others without realizing that they've been stealing the food of others for years already
7. [+176, -4] Why? So they can save the idols who sing through autotune? They never gave a crap about this when actually talented artists were never given the light of day on the digital charts. So are they saying that the standard for the industry is idol hook songs charting purely through the power of their fandom? And do they even know how Infinity Challenge is donating the proceeds?
8. [+155, -3] Why do they have such a problem with the public listening to the music they want? They should be using this time to create better music and improve upon themselves... Instead they put out idol after naked idol drenched in autotune
9. [+147, -3] Never in my life did I think I'd leave a reply ㅋㅋ A detriment to the music industry? The idols you've been putting out are not even a dot on the map compared to the history of the Korean music industry. Have you never thought of the idols stealing the jobs of other actors and becoming a detriment to THEIR industry? At least Infinity Challenge donates the proceeds to the less fortunate, what have idols done? Don't even make me fu*king laugh. If you want to make any kind of change, start by taking all of the crappy idols out of the dramas.
10. [+141, -1] There needs to be an article titled "Idols dominate the animation dubbing industry, a detriment to voice actors"

Article: 'Infinity Challenge' reps respond, "We had good intentions, now we're not sure what to do"
Source: OSEN via Nate
Infinity Challenge reps said, "We released the digital songs under good intentions, but we're not sure what to do anymore with the direction the situation has taken. Whenever we released digital songs, we donated all profits to the less fortunate. It's upsetting that this is becoming a problem."
1. [+797, -50] Who are the idiots barking when the public is enjoying the music they choose. Have they never thought about the stupid idol songs taking over the market instead?
2. [+767, -42] This is ridiculous, why is Infinity Challenge being targeted like this?? Then idols shouldn't be allowed to go on varieties and act
3. [+715, -42] Please pay no mind to them. They don't know that they're a detriment to the acting industry and that they've pushed away the talented artists off the charts. They really have no shame.
4. [+96, -3] I really don't know why Infinity Challenge was accused of becoming a corporate media octopus when they never profited off of these releases. Everything was donated to the less fortunate. Idols going into acting - that's what a corporate octopus is.
5. [+84, -7] I've yet to see one 'Association' do its proper job in our country...
