ReplyDeleteI love Kara but I'm not going to lie, as an AKB48 fan, AKB48 started out with only 7 paying audience at their first show in a 256 seats theater. The girls who were 14, 15 yrs old at the time, were passing out free tickets and flyers on the street just to get more fans. They waited 7 yrs to get to Tokyo Dome, when they were already selling millions by their 5th yrs. That's why when I saw their promo vid for TD, a dream of only 1830 meters away, I was happy for them.

Speak for yourself. There are many genres of music that don't require singers to be technically good. There are lots of lead singers of famous bands who can barely keep pitch. Here's some simple math for you: $112 million >>>> $63 million. I don't know 2VXQ's sales numbers, but they're really, really high as well. And 2VXQ has sold way more concert tickets than Kara.

ReplyDeleteThere were around 50,000 people in Tokyo Dome's audience to see KARA (and thousands of people in theaters around Japan) and just because around 700 korean netizens in this article "don't approve" KARA's skills or "don't think Hara can sing" won't be annoying me. Kamilia knows KARA's history, and after countless factors, to us KARA is the best. As a Kamilia and a Hara-stan, I'm really glad my girls could archieve this, none can take this from them, they made it happen. They've worked really hard and they're talent. And yes, I love Hara's refreshing voice and that's all that matters. I don't need anyone's permission to love it. Plus she isn't as bad as those people think she is, at least she can hold a tune. Not the best, but surely someone I want to listen to more and more. 2013 started beautifully for KARA and I'm so proud of them♥

They helped in the lyrics for their solo songs, there are great models and entertainers plus great personalities and strong images as idols. And yes, to me they're the fucking best you can go cry cry.
And they made it in Tokyo Dome. That's great. The second biggest seller (girlband) in Korea, yes, they're good.

Do you know how hard DB5K members had to work in order to release singles non-stop in Japan, then promote non-stop in Korea, and then go back to promote non-stop in Japan? SM used to work DB5K to the bone because they were their biggest cash cow. Ever since JYJ left, TVXQ members' contracts have been revised and now TVXQ members also have the free time and freedom to pursue other activities such as acting and emceeing. If DB5K were still together, you can bet your life savings that TVXQ would be releasing more than 2 singles/year in Japan, promoting non-stop, with NO breaks. Support TVXQ, but don't discredit JYJ.
ReplyDeleteIKR?! I'm so glad both JYJ and TV2Q are getting their well-deserved breaks. SMEnt milked them to the bone before the lawsuit. Those days where they ONE week of break was actually a photobook vacation, which isn't really a vacay at all. Plus the end of 2008 where they had end of the year shows in both Japan and Korea. It was like, morning Korea, afternoon Japan, night Korea scenario :(( Not talking about who's right/wrong here, but I can understand why JYJ was not happy.

Maybe you weren't aware but it's actually ok to like what you like, and taste is subjective. I won't die for thinking Hara has a sweet voice. It's not a big deal. The fact that someone is attractive has no bearing on my ears but again I don't have to prove myself to you. And like I said before..they were NEVER certified million by RIAJ (and certification is just base on shipment not actual sales..so how can they achieve a million sales when they haven't even ship a million album?)
And cumulatively TVXQ still sold more than KARA and make more than KARA..granted it's because they've release more material...

ReplyDeletelol what, it's hilarious how people are so obsessed with down playing their achievements, sm didn't face a huge loss or even a small loss, they didn't make as much money as analysts expected them to do, but still made much much more money than last year, the stock dropped but got high again only a few weeks later, go read that article again, and in case you didn't realize, tohoshinki are produced by avex, their tour was coproduced by avex, obviously sm wasn't going to make much money from them at that time since they didn't have any korean activities

ReplyDeleteIf there is no prestige now then how was there any before? When johnny's groups would hold there debut there, or would hold a concert in it before 1year, when foreign acts who never learned a bit of Japanese held multiple day concerts at the dome. Ayumi also held it only a couple years into her debut, long before she broke a ton of records. I fo kind of wish Kara waited a bit longer too, but everyone who has performed there has deserved it, so the talk of it losing prestige is silly unless you always thought that way.
which is why I said the last months ..... duh and excuse me but those singles all did better than their recent singles, regardless of the reason they still sold more. Just like how you were all buying like 20 copies of the keep your head down single to prove of a point but didn't manage to keep up with those numbers.

ReplyDeleteWhoever manages to fill the Dome, deserves it. Without any prestige, you think anyone can attract 50,000 fans? How naive. And most of these fans have already attended KARA's concerts before and they were back for more. Just because KARA is not your taste, you all can disregard their abilities. They cater to the crowd that dominates the world's music market, and a very conservative one at that, and that's a feat even the best female group from Korea have a hard time getting into.
ReplyDeleteTokyo Dome is a huge obstacle for many. To fill it is like lifting a 1,000 pound weight. Well, KARA lifted it, but some people just could not accept that. They came up with all kind of excuses. The worst thing is, most of them have only listened to 1 or 2 old KARA songs and summed up their entire careers. All the records KARA has broken and the chart-topping positions for all their singles and albums, are over-looked becos these haters did not even know about them in the first place.

ReplyDeleteTHIS. So true. Bashers will always be bashers and almost every singer/idol has haters no matter how great and perfect they are. I don't care about those hate comments about Kara. Hara may not sing like other good singers out there but the fact that she is not completely "talent-less" and that she has great character is what matters to me and other kamilias out there. If they really are nothing like what other people are saying here then how come they were able to make it this big in Japan? Geez some people need to show some respect. I may not be a big fan of AKB48 and other groups mentioned but I don't go around in blogs/forums comparing them to Kara or any other group just to say something totally unnecessary about them. Kara is Kara. Every group out there has their own Pros and Cons.
