  2. I wanna see a drama where someone has tattoo's visible in it. Is that so much to ask?!

  3. "Why are they so hell bent on using idols?"
I thought it was obvious they include idol actors bc it creates interest from their fans whom will probably buy the movie, watch the show, etc thus making profits off of. it's about money of course, not who can actually act lol sadly

    1. Ya but k netizens are pissed because they feel that idols can't act. They prefer real actors/ actresses.

  4. it's been shown time and time again that idols don't bring in viewers.

the reason why they cast idols is so they can sell it for a higher price to foreign markets. for example, TTBY bombed badly in Korea but sold for high prices to other markets.

  5. Jiyoung will be majoring in theater so I was looking forward to see if she got the talent (and netizen's reactions to her acting! That's always fun lol)
As for Soyeon... I expected this, and I'm not talking about the comments.

  6. She'd probably be unremarkable.

  7. Iris 2's representative said they were considering Soyeon (a trans is on AKP). So CCM denied it because they hadn't heard from KBS that she was being considered. There WAS talks of soyeon being a candidate direct from the mouth of KBS staff. This netizens should check their facts more ;)

  8. Maybe, but I wanted to give her a chance.

Her character in Rainbow Rose was too similar to her usual self for me to determine whether she's a good actress or not.

  9. Of course it's not media play - this article is Osen, not Newsen. When Osen does media play it's usually YG. Netizens don't care about facts, they are just looking to bash Soyeon for no reason, as usual.

  10. Um T-ara are already proven actresses who have had both critical and commercial success in the past. They are known as acting idols. It's one of the reasons the group is so popular. Check Jiyeon, Hyomin, and Eunjung's filmographies and past reviews. Especially Eunjung. But now that T-ara have had a scandal, everyone wants to change their opinion and pretend that T-ara can't act and shouldn't be in dramas, when before everybody supported it. Sigh, stupid netizens.

  11. Damn, I wanted to see if Jiyoung had improved her acting.

  12. I dont understand why they cant you young establish actresses like Kim Ji Won, Jung So Min, Kang Sora, Kim Yubi,Yoon Ji Ni etc

(i.e Kang Sora maybe a bit to big for this role) despite that the rest of

These girls already have their names out there have starred in very popular drama's and can actually act as well.

  13. idk why ur being downvoted because ur right. t-ara has proved themselves time and again. hate their personalities if you want, but the group has solid actresses.

  14. honestly im ok with eunjung she is not the best yet she has potential, but about jiyeon or hyomin i dont like their acting that much

  15. Honestly i dont want any Tara member on IRIS 2 in fact i dont want more idols on IRIS 2, is enough having joonie and the beast boy so yeah, Iris was such a great drama and if they keep getting idols im afraid is gonna end hated by koreans

  16. Honestly, as a non-Korean, I would prefer to watch a K-drama with an idol in it. However, since I have already watched Iris and Athena: Goddess of War and liked them, I would still watch Iris 2 with or without an idol being in it. For the very same reason, I believe the viewers rating will not drop just because an idol will be starring in it(?)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Is it because you don't mind the shiteous acting, or you just don't recognize how shitty idols really are at acting?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Um, but it's NOT Jiyeon, Hyomin, OR Eunjung being talked about in regards to IRIS 2.

    It's SOYEON.

I don't see what Soyeon's acting skill (or lack thereof) has anything to do with the rest of the members of T-ara. It's silly to think that just because T-ara has one, maybe two, passably good actresses that all of the members are going to be the same.

  19. Unfortunately, that's how the world works:/ Similarly, only a few believed in most of their 'past scandals' before those tweets they have made are interpreted in many different ways. It's called the labeling effect, and it affects even normal human being, let alone celebrities. That guy from AsianJunkie even tweeted that the Korean police can just blame a murder case that's gone cold on T-ara and the Korean netizens will believe it. It does sound exaggerated, but it truly reflects what is happening now.

  20. That's only true in regards to audiences in other countries.

Their own country (South Korea, just in case you forgot) doesn't want idols to be in dramas unless they have earned their stripes—like Lee Seung-gi. This isn't even a recent issue, either. It's been like this for at least the past 5 years.

People are just getting more and more vocal now because companies actually care about what K-Netizens have to say.

The most recent dramas in which idols played a main lead have all tanked badly: Love Rain, To the Beautiful You, Playful Kiss, Heartstrings...

You're only speaking from your own perspective. Try understanding what K-Netizens feel and understand. Look at which dramas are ranked #1 and ask yourself why those dramas bring in lots of viewers.

  21. It could be the latter since I'm only interested in the storyline and mystery most of the time.

  22. Joon was an actor before he was an idol so why should his idol status matter now.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i know he was an actor, well more like he just acted in ninja assassin but yeah, i love joon but seriously IRIS was sujch a great drama with no idols, well only T.O.P but yeah and is not like they r good at acting not even my biases r good LOL for sure i will watch their dramas but that does not mean im blind to say "oppar is the best actor"

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think eunjung's acting is great though... or maybe that's because i compare her to suzy

    ReplyDelete
  25. Soyeon's face is like a girl who is trying to play a poker face when she got diarrhea. seriously. And hell, Jiyeon is a good actress? Guys, she got the roles because she looks like Kim Tae Hee!

    ReplyDelete
  26. God, thinking about Lee Joon plays a sniper ~sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL Joon is a hot namja thats for sure LOL

    ReplyDelete
  28. those k-netizens are just idols haters, they must be like what ? 1000 to comment at every articles ?
South-Korea is about 50 millions of people ! it tells you the validity of their opinions.
seriously am i the only one to notice that they only bash most of the time ?

    ReplyDelete
  29. What was Jiyoung's role supposed to be?
there is one idol i want to see in Iris 2 , if ever its some sexy villain or assasin role. oh well, whatever, its not like its gonna happen anyway..

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think people are taking netizens seriously because South Korea is one of the most wired up cities in the world (#15 most connected in 2011)? However, I'm pretty sure there are terms such as 'Net Zombies' used to describe SOME of these netizens. I doubt I'll need to explain why they are called Net Zombies.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Something that the producers has not yet realized. Idols does not equal ratings. The entire fandom is always too busy worrying how hard their idols work and what kind of underwear they wear.

    ReplyDelete
  32. With the track record of idol drama's, I'm pretty sure producers know not to expect high ratings. What matters to the production companies is the profit they'll make when these drama's with idols are sold at high prices in various countries.

I think a 'netizen' summed it up pretty well in another article - if the audience want's more rookie actors to be given a chance, they should try supporting them so production companies feel it's worthwhile to invest in them. Basically stop whining about it on the internet and affect a change you want to happen.

Personally I don't think employing a rookie actor will ensure good acting because there's always people who are less skilled in every field. But than again I'm all for giving people a fair chance to prove themselves irregardless of their background or where they arrived at their position.

  33. jiyeon does not look like tae hee joyeon herself said in one show that KKS was to one who invented that to promote her LOL i think secret sunwha with brown hair looks more like tae hee

    ReplyDelete
  34. And this is exactly the reason why the quality of Korean dramas are slowly starting to dwindle down, because even the audience perceived that the easy way out is the perfect solution to any problem. You think idols are the ONLY reason why dramas are sold overseas? Lee Byunghun, Kim Taehee, Rain etcetera are called Hallyu stars for a reason. They sell the dramas!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wish and hope that Jiyeon will be in IRIS
    2. I personal think she is very good actress for this drama. She
has her look and talent. She can do it better than any T-ara members. Even some K-Netizens did not like her. But most fans around the world love her dearly.
The drama will be more viewers too
