Lee Hi's lives are getting more unstable?

Article: Lee Hi was doing good until her voice cracks + holds up mic too late

1. [+478, -50] It's not just today, Lee Hi has always had shaky live performances. I'm not her anti, I've loved her since her K-Pop days but her live is always shaky ㅠㅠ

2. [+434, -35] Why did they put that type of make up style and clothes concept on her... She looks like an ajumma ㅠ

3. [+376, -40] Since some time ago, I find myself unable to watch Lee Hi's stages because of how unstable they are... And it looks like it culminated in today's performance.

4. [+85, -2] This is what happens when you directly debut someone that is still an amateur. Her concept is 'powerful vocalist' but her live is shaky at best;; They should've trained her more.

5. [+79, -5] These are problems that stem from a lack of practice. Going off key to an artist is a grave mistake. I hope she just uses this as an opportunity to work even harder!

  1. Finally people realized that she has shaky voice, probably the reason JiMin won was because she had greater control in her vocals.

  2. Her voice is unique, but damn she's always had control issues. Coupled with the fact that she has no stage presence, I'm kinda over her.
I lol at people saying she's better than Ailee or Jimin, who have "boring" voices.

  3. After watching her performances after her official debut, I'm kinda bothered and I feel nervous for her coz she might cracked her voice ~ I really noticed it too that her lives are getting unstable~~

I just hope she will go on rest for a while and practice more~!

THIS! I know how keen YG is on western style looks but the girl is only 16 years old; she's got plenty of years to start wearing these kinds of clothes and makeup. Should've debuted with something more youthful and fresh.

  5. Pfff Ailee and Jimin voices are far from boring and they have control in their vocals.

  6. i saw this today. and she looked tired and didnt look like she wasnt having fun.
the choreography was damn awkward espicially the bit with the chair. poor girl looked like she couldnt get down.

YG needs to give a simple yet sofisticated concept and should not over work her its not good.

  7. she has no stage presence *sigh*

  8. She looks nasty as hell ew...

  9. Not gonna say she's not talented, but Lee Hi has always been shaky. She's fine in her comfort zone, but her comfort zone isn't very large. She doesn't even have full command of her own song. She's a good singer, but not good enough for someone whose "concept" revolves around being a talented vocalist, and definitely not better than Jimin and Ailee like some stans seem to believe :/

YG should have trained her more to be honest. I get it that they wanted to release her while she was still known and fresh from K-Pop Star but her voice, especially live, is something that could so much better with more practice.

  11. I find it both amusing and exasperating how much YG stans can't accept her lack of stage presence. They just make up excuses, saying that she has her own 'unique' charm, that she hasn't been trained enough, that she's still young, etc. I almost fell asleep watching her music video. They probably just wanted to debut her as soon as possible before the next wave of finalists come from kpop star. Music reality contestants may sell well at first (e.g. American Idol) but the longevity is what is most important. Let's see if YG can keep it up with all the debuts he's planning next

  12. She's still doing lives? I thought she would have had her goodbye stage already.

  13. IT WASN'T ALL BAD, it became bad at the end when she tried to hit that high note and do some adlib at the end. She needs MORE practice and voice lessons. That voice needs to be developed. Bom needs voice lessons as well.

  14. I wish she would have had more training, right now she's just a pretty voice and average signer.

  15. Exactly what I'm saying! I love watching them perform and they can actually sing well. Jimin is a cutie.

  16. no way, she's 16??!! i dont know anything about her (not interested) but she looks twice her age. damn.

  18. Her first few performances = great
Her last few performance = just neutral
    she needs to focus

  19. I find it amusing that YG said their artists should only perform on certain music shows so they don't appear tired or some BS like that. Seems like it's backfiring for her. What she needs is stage experience and vocal lessons, and performing rarely is not helping her at all. Also, it seems like that new choreography isn't helping either. Sometimes, she looks like she's concentrating more on what her next dance step is rather than focusing on her vocals.

  20. The best singer in Korea right now is Hyolin
    - beautiful
    - sexy
    - Charismatic
    - Mind blowing voice
    - Stable
    - Awesome dancer
This girl has great studio voice and it's a little bit cute
And bout her stability live park bom is really bad live too

  21. It's all the makeup. She's adorable without it.

  22. That last picture is giving me "I eat babies" vibes.

  23. her MAMA peformance with Epik high was horrible.

  24. how the hell is Lee hi better than Ailee ?? o_O
can't believe those YG fans are that delusional.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, it's to be expected since she didn't have any professional vocal training prior to K-Pop Star. Jimin, other the hand, has had vocal lessons since she was a little girl, which is why her output is so much more stable and clear than Lee Hi. YGE should've had trained her a bit more. Plus, I don't think a girl like her needs choreography. Not only does it make her look awkward, but I'm willing to bet that it makes her uncomfortable enough to lose control of her voice.

  26. I'm a YGSTAN and I don't even like her as much as other acts...honestly she debuted to soon...but I understand why YG did that. It was a smart move...look at her now shes gotten so far. But yes you're right her voice is really soulful and original ..but she very shaky and boring on stage. Sucks....I don't think stage presence wise she will get better anytime soon..it's funny cause YG is known for their explosive stage auro. I guess you either have it or you don't. YG should have given her a stage where she just literally stood there with no production and just did her song. Would sound much better IMO...I'm sure her moving around is also what causes the voice control issue. I'm hoping he does this for her next song.

  27. Ailee looks more professional...lee hi should learn more....she try to look confident on stage...but i can see she s not.

  28. She looks like shinyoung from invincible youth....

  29. People have been praising her vocals nonstop, but I don't see why. She really is quite shaky.

Lots of potential for growth, though, ofc.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I saw people praising her performance in MAMA and i was like "WTH, Did we just watched the same performance?" it was a mess.

    ReplyDelete
  31. She has a great voice just, the exhaustion of idol life is getting to her. Here is where lack of training shows. She's still incredibly talented.

    ReplyDelete
  32. lol it wasn't that bad. She was fine until the end.

For a rookie, she got awsome live vocals, better than a girlgroup member who got 2 lines overall and trained for how many years.

Lee hi is singing the whole song all by herself, and it's the first perf her voice crack, the only perf. Convenient that when she does a mistep, bam everyone on her lol.

Netizens are so bipolar. One thing that will never change.

She's only 16 and faced a lot of success quickly. YG probably didn't planned for lee hi to make lives of 1234 for 2 months straight. It's because the song is still charting high.

And just because you see her only on inki doen't mean she don't do other events. She does. She did a radio live not long ago, she sang her song perfectly and after when she got to introduce herself, her voice was clearly strained and tired, After she sang "Love" and again perfect vocals. She got big potential and act like a pro. I agree, she clearly tired. It was her goodbye stage, so luckily, she'll got some rest. But you can't deny how she improved, especially her self confidence on stage.

I'm obviously a fan of lee hayi, and i follow her from the beginning. It's just my opinion like you state yours.

  33. Let's be honest, all she has is unique voice. Her face is blank all the time, her voice is shaky... I'm not hating on her, because her voice is really nice, but she leaves an impression of arrogant person. YG artist are always so confident when they perform but she is just standing with that haughty expression... She has no stage presence :(

    ReplyDelete
  34. Too bad JYP fucked up her debut. :(

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ailee was trained by Wheesung, so it's no surprise that she's excellent when she's live.

Lee Hayi (I can't call her Lee Hi because it looks and sounds stupid) was always sort of timid and shy. They should've trained her for a while longer and maybe the stylists shouldn't have made her hair fucking ORANGE. Of all colors... -__-

  36. Depends on the type of voice you're looking for.

I think Lee Hi is better than Ailee, only because I find her voice more intriguing.

Just like how I find Adele better than Beyonce.

They all have great voices, just depends on personal preference.

But if we're talking about being a ROOKIE then of course it's Ailee, she has an amazing voice, can dance while singing and can def hold her own.

    ReplyDelete
  37. strangely yg has been promoting her and this song for 2 long months, even without the shaky vocals, the performance has been boring. she prob gives no fucks any more to do well.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I CANNOT stand her face!!!!

    I adore Ailee though

    ReplyDelete
  39. YG made a great mistake debuting her so fast. She has a voice that could go with the best of legends, but she needs more polishing. It also doesn't help she has such a blank stare and unmovable face... she looked like she was high or about to fall asleep at MAMA's... I don't like watching her AT ALL. I'll stick to just listening to her on CD! LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  40. yeah i noticed that problem during her duet with Epik High on MAMA, she was often off-tunes... i also think YG debuted her too soon... they needed to give her more time to be at ease with the dancing part even if i always thought they should have just debuted her as a vocal not as a dancer.
the fact that she seems so unnatural during her performances is because she was not ready yet to be thrown on stage... too bad TT

    ReplyDelete
  41. no, ailee is a better singer you like lee hi's voice which is personal taste but objectivly and technically speaking aile IS better

    ReplyDelete
  42. Mh.. what I find weird is the fact that at KPOPSTAR her lives weren't that unstable..
    idgi.. oô

  43. I think she's always had shaky lives... I do like her songs but lives are really not her strong point. She almost always awkward and like... she's not giving her best. Don't hate on me, just my opinion.
