It's a tough world for rookies these days: Hip hop duo Alphabat

Article: GD lookalike Kyumin and Serin, new hip hop duo named 'Alphabat'

1. [+228, -25] Let's differentiate between lookalike and copying, yeah?

2. [+170, -26] ?? Where...

3. [+152, -23] He looks more like Shindong than GD

4. [+33, -9] Pretty sure GD said to dream big with him, not copy him

5. [+27, -5] I don't like how this company is doing their media play. Rappers should have their own distinct flow but he tries too hard to copy GD. I saw his homepage and it's just full of pictures copying poses GD did during his debut.

  2. He's totally copying GDragon and Big bang... who else pose like that and wear those kind of clothes?

    ughh hip hop wannabes.

  3. It's def tough for nugus, especially when netizens are gonna compare u even when u are trying to be original. Outright copying like this, dude at least get your own style.

  4. I love the tiny car.

  5. 3. [+152, -23] He looks more like Shindong than GD

    Sorry Shindong, I laughed...

  6. Big Bang are hip hop wannabes ¬___¬

    ReplyDelete
  7. Well he did say he wanted to become just like GD, fashion wise and music wise...

    ReplyDelete
  8. And who exactly does Hip Hop belong to?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Afrika Bambaataa and Grandmaster Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  10. More like GD&TOP wannabes, tbh. They're trying to emulate a cross between Big Bang during the "La La La" days and GD&TOP in "Knock Out"...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well then everyone after them are wannabes.

    ReplyDelete
  12. They should get together with Chad Future and just make a career out of parodying kpop songs if they're gonna go that far with imitating. Jeez.

    ReplyDelete
  13. There's a different between being a wannabe and simply being inspired.

I refuse to call people wannabes if they make an actual effort to be original, no matter how wrong or LOL-worthy their efforts are. At least they're trying to accomplish something.

To be, a wannabe is someone who's just content to be a follower. Never thinking on their own, like a trained circus animal.

Like Gretchen and Karen from Mean Girls, who wanna be just like Regina George. http://images1.fanpop.com/images/photos/2200000/the-plastics-mean-girls-2226969-600-736.jpg

  14. Being a GD copycat is an automatic death sentence in K-Pop. His career's over before it even began.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I know. Mte. But people seem to not understand that and just outright throw that word around.

    ReplyDelete
  16. it's look like HIP HOP belongs "only" to GD...i mean did he even invent Hip-Hop!???

    ReplyDelete

    1. Who said anything about hip hop?
The netizens are clearly commenting on the gestures and appearance which resemble GD's.

  17. Yg stans think GD invented hip hop -____-

    1. swerv... literally noone thinks that

  18. GD look alike? Uh oh. YG stans are gonna murder this duo since GD "invented" hip hop and all. What little chance of a career they had is over now lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. No YG stans don't, because if they are YG stans they would know that YG had Jinusean, 1TYM and a few others who did hip hop before GD and BIGBANG .

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's just that kyu min started as a GD impersonator on star king. That is how he became known. I actually don't mind him because it's not like he is hiding the fact he is copying GD. I think it's quite cute.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wrong, it's not so much about the Hip hop aspect with Kyumin. Kyumin loves being the GD lookalike, he actually thrives off it. He dresses, poses and wants to be like GD. He said so himself and has the pictures to prove it. So he is going to get murdered but by GD fans and well by most because he said it himself that he wants to be like GD in fashion and in music. So in the end it's because he has no originality.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ??? Because it's kyu min.. He became famous on star king for impersonating
GD. We aren't randomly saying he is a wannabe. He is loud and proud about it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. doesn't seem to affect beast junhyung's career negatively

    ReplyDelete
  24. GD isn't even hip hop, neither is BIGBANG --they're pop. YG stans have a hard time admitting that because they want to continue to claim that BIGBANG are "real artists". They're marketed as hip hop artists to stand out, but really all they do is combine a million different genres to make a pop song...

    1. This! I agree with. But BB's fans are finding it so hard to admit this one fact about the group. They are a group that performs hip hop songs, like so many others. It's funny that they keep insisting that real artists peform hip hop, and insinuating that if BB isn a hip hop group, they're not real artists? Blind faith. I love Big Bang, they can perform any kind of music, but to call them hip hop artists, it's not quite right.

    2. Wow VIP really don't care that much about the hip hop thing. All I ever see are dumb haters talking about how VIP are so obsessed with being hep hap but tbh im really active in the fandom and we barely even conversate about this. The reality is most VIP realize and appreciate that Big Bang makes a great variety of music. Actually ton of VIP prefer their pop ballads or electro tracks to their more hip hop sounding ones. BTW this has nothing to do with BigBang being real artist or not.

  25. Which YG stans have said that? Screenshots, names... I need confirmation of this before I can ridicule them

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah why do haters always have to keep up with the hiphop. bb are very pop and have alot of fans for their pop/electro songs including myself. And they were marketed that way because that is how they started by gd changed bb direction a couple of years after debut.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's not my job to take screenshots or names. Look around, you'll find something.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Multiple factors are involved, including the fact that Junhyung isn't really the center/main focus in the group like GD is (and like this dude in Alphabat) and that Beast's music appeals to public. Beast is an established group while Alphabat will be labeled as "one of those rookie groups."

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think it's because Junhyung debut as an idol in the normal sense. Kyu Min was a infamous GD impersonator before. So it's different.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Sounds more like you're talking out of your ass, then. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think the real bullshitter here is you. Stop trying to pass off your opinions as facts, it's obviously not working.

    ReplyDelete
  32. NOBODY is hip hop anymore. The hip hop movement died with the new millenium.

    ReplyDelete
  33. You definitely don't know the difference between GD stans and YG stans.

    ReplyDelete
  34. But in the end GD stans are YG stans too.

    ReplyDelete
  35. so to be a real artist u have to do hip hop? i don't get your logic...they call them artists cuz they write and produce their own songs, they contribuit to their stages, concepts, fashion etc

    ReplyDelete
  36. the article title says the kid is like GD. actually the kid is the same one in the crispi crunch article, he made a small career out of copying gd. people arent wrong in thinking he looks otherwise. do you think he looks like gd?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Doesn't mean YG stans are GD stans.

    ReplyDelete
  38. looks like we got another b2st junhyung here!

    ReplyDelete
  39. sooo k vips think GD is the creator of hip hop. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  40. They don't say that anywhere. This kid is G-Dragon look alike, that's what his career was before he was an idol. The kid even says he wants to be like G-Dragon.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I always give new hip hop groups a chance. I'm ready to see what they've got. Sorry I see no GD in this.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Teaser sounded decent to me.

    ReplyDelete
  43. K netizens are saying stop copying GD not purely because he looks like him but because this guy made a living cosplaying GD so it's no big secret. Knetizens know who kyumin is. And crispi crunch asked him to feature on their mv because of his GD cosplaying it was for comedy. And now they are debuting.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Seriously bullshitting. But okay. Carry on.

    ReplyDelete
  45. You're the one put words in people mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The kids is the one said it themself with title of media play "GD lookalike"

    ReplyDelete
  47. But Chad Future always give me good laugh...

    ReplyDelete
  48. People thumb you up without know the truth... None said HIP HOP belongs "only" to GD. Just the kid is famous for "cosplaying" GD long time that is what's netizen talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  49. You're just mad because I didn't give you names or screenshots when you're capable of doing that on your own. Deny it all you want but some YG stans do think like that.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I can fucking swear on my parents that i saw a comment on a shitty Allkpop Awards article like this exactly:

'Where the hell is GD in the 'Best Producer' category, most producers here nominated are hip hop and he composed one of the best songs ever 'fantastic baby', omg so bullshit'

Let me clarify Yoo Young Jin and goddamn Primary who is the demigod of K-Hip Hop at the moment, was among the nominees.
That is the extent of delusion of some YG stans.

    ReplyDelete
  51. So what if he/she thinks it's the best song ever. It's just their opinion. Why are you so mad? Some of you hiphop fanatics are the most nastiest keyboard warriors of them all. You guys look down on our groups because they aren't super magnificent like your talented underrated hiphop gods geez you guys act like elitist yourselves. We may be delusional at times but so are you haters making things up like we think gd invented hiphop.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Woah chill whats with the bs of generalizing people as hip hop fanatics.

It's not that she thinks FB is the best song, she/he even goes further of claming GD is the best producer in S.Korea.

And unfortunately average YG stans are delusional and biased as hell, not your fault if you think you are a logical person doesn't fit that group.

    ReplyDelete
  53. All 'pop' is , is a shortened form of 'popular'. Can something not be hip hop/ have hip hop elements and be considered 'popular music' too??

    ReplyDelete
  54. I didn't see where anyone said that it belongs to GD only, but it is necessary to point out that bigbang helped popularized that style of music in the idol sphere. No one believes they invented it, or deserve all of the credit, but they did help usher it in over there.

    ReplyDelete
  55. This used to be civilized place!
    What happened?

    ReplyDelete
  56. my thoughts exactly. bitches need to get out.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The more popular this site gets, the more people will flock to it--that includes "haters," "delulus," "trolls," and the like unfortunately.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I had good talk with the admin the other day.
I'll just leave it at that.

    ReplyDelete
  59. after seeing your comments, maybe u should take your own advice

    ReplyDelete
  60. I still don't see the resemblance. He may be a cosplayer but vocally nothing alike.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Heard the full track and it's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ah, the kid is famous for cosplaying GD before, he said he wants to be GD, like that. That's what the netizens are talking about.
