I for one love both BB and EPIK HIGH. Epik high has Tablo who is my favorite lyricist but as a group, their stage presence is not close to that of BB. But I will say that as a VIP, my fav perf of the night was the hip hop stage with Epik High, Dynamic Duo and Simon D, by a long shot, they killed it.

ReplyDeleteLol, so many db5k/big bang fights. So I'll just butt in, you'e all too cute. There is one simple reason as to why the former tvxq will always be better than big bang: big bang absolutely sucks live. It's pretty embarrassing. The argument "tvxq as 5 will never be again so it doesn't count" couldn't be more invalid. It's like saying Bieber is better than MJ, since he's dead anyway.

ReplyDeleteThe fact is that DB5K is never popular with the Korean general public dear, the best song sale of them is Microtic, it's like #30 on the yearly charts, and in the same year BB's "Haru Haru" is #2 and had about >10 songs in Top50.

ReplyDeleteI never had the honor to see dbsk as 5 live, but I've seen JYJ and Big Bang. Comparing the songs, I listen to BB's more. But I'll never again spend money on hearing BB's live-singing. Anyone with ears would admit that DBSK is superior in singing. BB have never completed a live without making me cringe, even while having playback 50% of the time. Unfortunately, dbsk split just before kpop started getting popular outside of Asia and during most of their time, SM threw them at Japan. I'm not invested enough in this part of the discussion to search statisics about their sales and geneal pupblic's opinion, but from what I've heard elsewhere , you're speaking bull. Either way, my statement's validity doesn't decrees with your comment. They're still infinitely better at singing. Stage presence... about the same. BB only come so far with fake swag. Song writing... same. So it somes down to their live quality, which dbsk excels in. This doen't even need to be argued about, it's a fact.
ReplyDeleteFriend, all I can say is that they're not your style. I went to Alive Concerts, 2 times in Singapore and 1 time in Malaysia. No, Big Bang isn't Gods at singing live, only GD, TOP, Daesung always sing/rap live well. Taeyang was good 2/3 nights (Singapore 1st and Malaysia one). But what make me enjoy them performing live a lot? Because of the power, the energy in their performances, the way they own the stage.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I like DBSK a lot too (And still like JYJ/Homin), but sometimes some fans like just... trashing down BB a lot, while talk about talents, they don't have less than TVXQ, and in Korean public eyes, they're still No.1; and no individual idol can have such the fame G-Dragon has.
Their music is my style, but their live is not... I do indeed respect singing/dancing combo over rap more. We're commenting for the same reasons really. I wouldn't be here if there were not so many rude comments towards dbsk and jyj. I've previously seen VIP's and cassies respecting each other for what the other group have that the other does not. I've never seen the fandom wars between the groups until recently(cassies are getting butthurt over what dbsk could have been, but no longer have the chance of becoming). They are two very different groups, so they shouldn't be compared if you want to be fair. But they both(used to)consist of 5 VERY individualistic and talented members in their own way(that's why they're both the biggest and most respected)so people can't help but to put them against each other. Neither fans of both, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI still miss the old BB. I really don't understand why they don't dance much anymore. People say they can't dance but when they try they are good and GD is really good. I liked how they danced during their debut lalala and vip have the best choregraphy, bap reminds me of this style that's why I love bap out of the rookies. Now bb doesn't have much choregraphy in their dance they mostly stand around and just leaves one member to dance which is taeyang but all he does these days is pelvic leg shakes and duggies ( i think thats what it's called). And ri got into bb for his dance skills and choregraphy but now he is like so lazy and doesn't dance at all. And top looks like he doesn't even want to be there anymore and wants go become an fulltime actor. Please don't mistake me for a hater I'm a vip. Just feel sad sometimes of how much they changed.

But I admit that they really sound good live and very skilled, much better than the rest perf which showed they're real pro. But since I prefer the more fun and entertaining stage, BB nailed it hahah Both of them are good. I wonder if they do collab perf
