ReplyDeleteMBC completely overlooked the king 2 hearts and golden time...what a f*cking joke!! im sorry but some of those winners should have just got the hallyu or populartiy awards and others, who did the real acting should have got the acting awards!! just coz "the moon that embraces the sun" viewing rating MBC practically threw awards at it...btw when it had been airing when there was NO RIVAL COMPETITION AT ALL which a big factor why they were that high, apart from the child actors and kim soo hyun, completely over-rated, and not deserving of the hype! plus how on earth does yoon eun hye get 2 awards and the king 2 hearts as a whole drama only gets one? WHAT A JOKE!!! seriously MBC has just been making f*cks up all month haven't they....
ReplyDeleteJJ and Yihan bromance was one of the few good things about Dr. Jin. JJ's acting improved a lot though....and he even abandoned his 'idol image' for it (eg. he legit drooled in several scenes). But overall, I agree with you that both Dr. Jin and Jackal were bad projects.....he is not to blame though........he did his part well........the director and production team ugh =____= And it didn't help that both leads in Dr. Jin could NOT act.
ReplyDeleteJJ is not a failure in acting. He is good....and still has a lot of potential. He just needs to figure out how to pick good drama's =____= (and save us the headache from watching another Dr. Jin X___X)

ReplyDeleteI kinda felt bad for Ahn Jae Wook, when he failed to win anything. I thought maybe there was a mixed-up coz usually if your gonna get the Daesang, then you won't win on the Male Excellence category. And Jo Jung Suk should have really won the Rookie Actor(whether tie or not). If you go by the winners, Lee Jang Woo and Kim Jaejong's drama had moderate ratings which K2H also had, so they won because of their acting. Then Jo Jung Suk wins over the 2 on acting. And what's up with showing the face of those who didn't win immediately after the announcement. But you kinda feel bad for those who got their well-deserved award coz the inclusion of those non-deserving winners (some actors and most actresses) takes away the small prestige it has.

MBC totally alienated King2Heart, Golden Time and Light and Shadow most of the time though viewers give so much love for these dramas.... then again, it's still a tough competition this year with a lot of great dramas.... I'm looking forward for MBC's dramas in 2013.

ReplyDeleteJaejoong's effort to do sageuk was definitely obvious and he worked hard for it for sure, but it wasn't enough to win against the more natural actor, Jo Jung Seok.

I was rooting for Jo Jung Seok for the rookie award. Even as the biggest LSG fan, I would admit JJS outshined LSG in the drama. Jo Jung Seok's Eun Shi Kyung was definitely the gem of the drama, save for LSG and HJW"s amazing chemistry.
ReplyDeleteWorse is Jaejoong winning it. WHAT.THE.HELL.MBC. Usually I understand why this person won over who I want to win, but this is simply incomprehensible. JIN had fairly the same ratings as K2H, so saving that aside, acting is where you judge from, and clearly, JJS wins this over a mile. I love Jaejoong and all, and we all saw how he worked hard for this drama and taking it on as a challenge, but really, JJS was miles better than him.
I wouldn't even begin why TK2H and Arang was overlooked here. -.-
Just to clarify, many people praised Jaejoong's acting in Dr. Jin heavily in Korea. Including some of the biggest critics who felt he had really arrived as an actor with his role as KyungTak.

I don't know why Lee Jangwoo won though. I don't think his performance was memorable enough to have been on the receiving end of the award. So in that sense I agree with the netizens. Jo Jung Suk should have been one of the winners.
Watching the awards though.... it had its moments of WTH. I couldn't understand why the awards went to some people.

ReplyDeleteLee Jang Woo was nominated for Oh Ja Ryeong is coming, and it's a currently airing daily sitcom. I have no qualms against Lee Jang Woo winning the rookie award actually, because I enjoyed his acting in IDID (even though I didn't like the drama and it's not what he is nominated for) and based from a friend who watching this sitcom, he is good in it as well.
ah good for you and i hope people do that too before asking why coz i doubt they did that. but anyway i agree JJS is a good actor but then why? the same question with me why Ahn Jae wook didnt win any other award ? he is better then Jo Seung Woo.

ReplyDeleteI miss you had low ratings than TK2H but how come it’s own so many awards…..it’s a drama still halfway………yoochun didn’t win in popular category but critics category and what was shocking he was not nominated with lee seung gi.lee jun gi.kim soo hyun but with yoo seung ho,yoon je moon etc. etc,the 2nd lead of the drama…..from this it was pretty evident that mbc strategy to make sure that yoochun attend the awards….if they don’t make him win he probably wouldn’t have attended……isn’t in a way insult by mbc who should have put him with lLSG,LJG,KSH etc………….LEE SEUNG GI NOT WINNING ONE AWARD…..REALLY PISSED…ON TOP OF THAT NATION’S TOP ACTRESS HA JI WON NOT WINNING AGAINST HA GA IN…EVEN NOT A SINGLE AWARD….. ReplyDeletei completely agree with you about K2H being a rare drama, it created a completely fictitious world (south korea as a sovereign state for god's sake!!!!) but the writers and performances were of such quality and substance that the situations that occured were so believable creating so much tension and suspense (unlike Dr.Jin= EPIC FAIL) but.... oh gosh you might hate me for this, but i kinda get why lee seung gi didnt get the award, *go hides in a bush from hurling capslocks*

Huh, JJS outshined LSG in the drama? Seriously? Did we watch the same drama? I don't know much about those actors before, just interested in the story but the king and his acting impressed me very much. I like ESK but in some scenes, he turn me off. Anyway, if compare to other winner, he's much more better.

ReplyDeleteTrust me, I've watched The King 2 Hearts about 15 times every single episode. LSG did so well in his role as the bratty turned competent king, and it's his best role to date actually.

I was just pointing out that while JJS was the secondary role and LSG got the main role, admittedly JJS wins the acting category, even if compared to the main role itself. Shining in your his scenes against the even the main role tells us something already.

I happy danced when I read lee yoon ji won an excellence award but i almost flipped a table when i scrolled down the winners list and Jo jung suk's name was nowhere to be found...!! i was like whuttt is their problem??!! idont know which are the qualification system to select who wins what but so far, he has delivered 3 characters with completely different personalities flawlessly...! andif we're talking about his eun shi kyung in K2H, the results are even less logical... i remember when i first saw him in Whats up? i was charmed by his awesome voice and his acting and def thought i wanted to see more of him acting then when i sawhim in K2H's again, my jaw literally dropped in surprise andi happy dancedwith joy... thats what an actor should do: to make you want to see him again and again with each role he takes... i now wish he can get more and more awesome roles and lead roles in the future -maybe a single, mini album or album too?- and put his talent to good use!
ReplyDeleteEveryone is biased yes, but some of these awards were really unfair. There are actors who brought life to the entire drama they were in, but they did not get a single award. And then there are actors who were so forgettable in their drama, even with getting the award they got, people still cannot remember them in that drama.
ReplyDeleteJo Jung Suk, Yoon Je Moon, Ahn Jae Wook; without these actors King 2 Hearts and Light and Shadows won't be the drama it was. Switch away JJS and the character Eun Shi Kyung might not even have been so popular. They are actors who breathed life into the characters and it was the character that made the actor popular, not the other way round. On the contrary, Dr. Jin without Kim Jaejoong will still be Dr. Jin.
