funny thing is that most of them aren't good-looking either; so i would say body before talent, since muscles are pretty much their main attraction. They might as well just become circus performers imo (and even then its still an insult to circus performers)
ReplyDeletelol Let me make the point a little more clear. YES, obviously those girls were horrible at singing but now that the idol industry is shifting towards girls who ACTUALLY sing (thanks to Lee Hi and Ailee), it just makes their glaring flaws in vocal ability even more apparent.
ReplyDeleteDon't see why it matters. Most groups I listen to outside of the world of k-pop can't sing either, but have other factors that make up for it. Technical skill isn't everything. Just like the world's fastest guitar player doesn't necessarily make the best music or have the most fans.

Korea is a country where looks are super important for them... for them it's normal to tell (or to be told) to lose weight, to have plastic surgery etc. but then they hate it when someone gets popular for looks? lol... That's just jealousy. Koreans even have ulzzangs, these people are popular and have fans for only ONE reason: being pretty, perfect looking. A country that loves beauty (fake or real) so much, can't complain about a pretty girl being popular. the only reason why they would even complain is because it's not them, and that makes them mad. True fact. Koreans are super competitive too.

Sohee sucks at singing and dancing at the same time but on radio at least she does well and at least she's getting lines to sing. Sohee improved a lot compared to before but WG isn't relevant enough now for koreans to check their new perfs, koreans only remember WG's popular days when Sohee was 15, overworked and couldn't sing well. That's the image (more like "sound") that they'll have of her for a LONG time, regardless of how much she improves and sing well, they'll keep thinking about 15 years old Sohee in 2007, cracking her voice in Tell Me perfs (which is also the most popular WG song in Korea btw).
