SM's manager caught hitting a fan in the face

Article: SM manager on the chopping block for assaulting a fan 'is he that same manager from before?'

Source:
Sports Chosun via Nate

1. [+1,485, -138] Stupid girls without brains. Is it worth following these guys even while getting assaulted like that.

2. [+1,092, -339] Do you really want to be a stupid fangirl for no benefit to you at all even while getting hit like that?

3. [+1,023, -359] That manager is infamous for hitting fans

4. [+239, -23] I'm speechless that a manager is hitting a fan, but even more speechless that the idol is doing nothing about it and just watching. As if it happens all the time ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. [+192, -34] Doesn't SM train their managers? And the singer that just passes by without doing anything when their fan is getting hit is also a problem... Neither side is in the right.

6. [+185, -10] Stupid fangirls, your loving oppas don't give a sh*t about whether you guys get hit or not ^^

7. [+147, -6] If you look at that SHINee video.. yeah, the manager is wrong for hitting the fan, but the members are also wrong for passing by like nothing's going on

8. [+111, -17] JYP's problem is that none of their artists are talented. YG's problem is that all of their artists cause trouble. SM's problem is that their songs suck and their managers cause trouble?

9. [+110, -19] Isn't it attempted murder if you hit someone wearing glasses in the face?

10. [+93, -14] I want to dress like a girl and follow SM idols around so I can get a manager to hit me and I'll crush him to the floor back ㅋㅋㅋ

  3. They deserved it. This people have places to go and they aren't meant to be touched by every jack and Jill.

Sorry but going to airports is pointless. You see you bias for 10mins. Get hit or pushed by someone working for your biases company (normally manager) or just get beaten up by Sasaeng fans who are at the airport. Its not work it.

    1. Yeah I remember once seeing the video of TVXQ in airport, one girl was coming to their way and got hit to the ground by their manager, and those boys were just completely ignored and walked as if nothing had happened.

      Sigh. Show no mercy.

I even saw one of HoMin at Thailand airport, screaming and yelling to their own fans, Yunho was angry and pissed but he went too far. So shameful.

    2. The 5 of them probably learned from their managers. Aside from what you've mentioned, yoochun was also so rude at the airport snatching away a fan's camera forcefully and gave it to his manager to take care of it. He even throw away a letter that was given to jaejoong, like legit throwing it away in front of everybody, at the airport. Plus the beating he and jaejoong did, wow that's just so horrible. Even more horrible that their fans keep on trying to make excuses about it.

  6. Is the person making the "...too close to Shinee or exo..." comment retarded?
I like comment number three, i would totally line up and pretend to be a fan and if the manager dared raised hand i would crush him under the weight of the legal system. And post it on the internet with his full name address.
Jonghyun is a complete asshole for watching it happen and doing nothing.

  8. These kinds of events actually make me angry. Why? Because if this was Bigbang's or JYJ's manager everyone would be saying 'like idol like manager' and bashing them to bits. But, since it's an SME idol, stans will ignore it and their 'oppa's will be angels forever'

well if you hit a fan, it still means you hit a fan, doesn't matter who you are. exo and shinee managers are gross human being for hitting a fan. jaejoong and yoochun are also gross human being for hitting fan. no excuse.

    3. EXO manager hit the girl wearing sunglasses at the airport too , back in Aug.
How come this action still keep going on?

      SM never learn ?

    ReplyDelete

    1. That's not true. People who follow artist or any human being in general into their private lives and that cause trouble or accidents could hardly be labeled as fans.
Public events as concerts, fanmeetings, fansigning events or meetings on the airport are mean to be for fans. They are expected. However, it's unfair to force unwanted encounters with people who go as far as to break into your house or who follow you in mass all day causing car accidents just because they affirm they are your "fans".
Maybe it was wrong the way they exploded like that, but how much could you be able to endure something like this and do nothing? However, they already apologized for that(the incident happened 4 years ago btw) But, where is these SAESANGS' apology? They are not sorry at all, they don't want to change either. They still go at it. They still cause trouble and that's not fair.

      Delete
    2. ^ "that's not true". um what part of it that is not true? jaejoong and yoochun did hit a woman. are you trying to excuse them? they're not the only people with sasaengs. they're not the only people with SUPER CRAZY sasaengs. they hit woman.

      Delete
    3. You put it as if it was a normal doing to them. They are not crazy people hitting any women they see, nor artist who treat their fans badly. I am not excusing their actions, I am stating facts.
Saesaengs might be women, but that doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. Aren't you the one excusing them here?

As I wrote before, JYJ gave their apology already and I doubt they did it or will do it again...But what can I say about Sasaengs? They still do crazy things and still cause trouble to them and to their fans.
I feel sorry for those other artist you affirm they have Sasaengs and I feel sorry that people like you condone something that still happens with words as "women" or "fans" as if being under that label could permit these people do whatever they want.

      Delete
    4. you're still giving excuses. you said you're stating the fact, but yet you refuse to akcnowledge that they indeed beat that person, whoever that is. they have reasons, yes, but that doesn't validate what jaejoong and yoochun did. are you validating that beating is ok? if this is any other idol you won't defend them like this.

  12. Okay since we have such substantive evidence (like the video above of the manager hitting the fangirl), and of course, it will stand as proper evidence in a court trial, lets all get together and sue Jaejoong and Yoochun or hold a protest in front of their houses, because obviously 'our' collective consciences have finally awoken and we will finally start going crazy about all the bad shit that goes around in this world. Instead of having jealous childish tantrums behind our computer screens.....we will fianlly stop eating chocolate, because it is many enslaved Africans who work in implantation's; and we will go to our women shelters in each of our countries and stand up for those women by beating up their husbands or stalkers (because a women has the right to defend herself AND NO man has any justification for ever hitting a women); and while we are at it let's all join Hyori and start adopting abandoned pets, and let's go join the army to stop terrorists, and create world peace through a untied women's power etc.

OMG I did not know how good joining the KPop fandom would be for my conscience! I am so grateful to all of you for opening my eyes! I did not see Jaejoong and Yoochun for the women beaters they are (even though I don't even know if those people were girls or women or if they were even hit or bruised). Thank you so so so much!

  32. To all of you blind "fans". Almost NO ONE argues against the fact that the sasaengs are crazy and not really considered fans. Clearly, violence IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO DEAL WITH THIS. Whether it be verbal abuse or physical altercations, just NO. No one's oblivious to the fact that the sasaengs are insane mofos. But please do NOT DEFEND violent behaviors. I'm really sick and tired of people defending celebrities (esp. JYJ; they come up a lot in these kinds of discussions) or managers or whoever for their disgusting behaviors. For many in the entertainment business, crazy people (not only sasaengs) are part of their lives in some way. The mobs at airports, the stalkers, the antis: they are all things they have to deal with. Celebrities are aware of this. They are are aware of the other ways to deal with this stuff besides violence, a major one being the law. Let's not get carried away with our biases to support abuse of any kind, seriously.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am all with you against violence. I don't support it at all, but as a fan (a JYJ fan in this) who knows 'a little' about them, their behavior towards fans in normal circumstances and the good remarks and praise they(specially Jaejoong) receive from different staff teams and from people/friends close to them; and also as a fan who knows what these Sasaengs did and still do. I can say I could comprehend why it happened, accept their apology and still support them and admire them as always.
You are right, there might be other ways to deal with this kind of things. But it doesn't help at all that some people excuse what these Sasaengs still do as if it was normal and should just be accepted.
Some people say "let managers 'protect' you" or "contract bodyguards to do the 'dirty' job", but obviously that is not the solution either. I believe the change should happen in the fans first. They(us) should stop believing we have some authority over them just because we are fans. There are limits that we all should respect and also encourage other fans to do so.

  33. But seriously what did that girl with the glasses even do??? I've probably seen that gif a millions times over and I still don't understand what she did differently than any other fangirl just videotaping her oppa. :/

    ReplyDelete
  34. SHINee's manager(s?) have not one but a few incidents to their name already. The infamous August 2009 incident (which the girl apparently had a hand in the controvery - google "wenfany - Managers hitting fans"), the not so known February 2010 incident at Singapore's Changi Airport and the October 2011 incident at Gimpo Airport.

It's bizarre but I read somewhere (I think it was 'onewthings' on tumblr) how manager Choi Jin (man of the 2009 spotlight) was actually missed by K-Onsoonies (Onew fans).. it's a long post so google it yourself.

Personally, I think managers should not have to double up as bodyguards. They're cranky and tired as they are already as someone who manages a group's schedule and each individual member's as well, they are also in-charge of chauffeuring them to each scheduled activity, and they apparently have to deal with an absurd amount of fangirls (some of whom don't know their limits).

    I'm glad I don't have their job.

    ReplyDelete
  35. this is so true. And... I'm not defending them, but what the fuck can they do about it? This is what managers are paid for. FROM MOST LABELS, NOT ONLY SM :/

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I doubt that, since SM stans are usually the ones crazier , be it saseang and all, they are way too extreme to the max.

So SM is known a long time for their manager behavior toward fans. Such a bad attitude.

Not hearing much these kinds off hitting fans from other labels indeed.

If you people stan SM , you must fully awaren of this more or less, I bet.

I never understood why managers automatically have to b bodyguards or chaffeurs...! Managers are exhausted too running from a place to another anddmight not be in the mood to deal wiyh hysterical invasive fans and arent even trained fir that so why they get that job too?? I doubt sm or any other company that have acts that manage to gather zillions of fans cant afford people to take care of the artists and the fans themselves... Tis happens mostly to sm artists cuz they rely too much of the extreme fantasy created by sm... I think that ill be rooolling on money cuz the 1st thing ill do is to run a bodyguard business like right infront of the sm building lol theyre the first ones ill give my card to...

  51. That manager is a psycho. BUT, to be fair at least to Jonghyun, fan accounts say that she was sexually molesting him. Like, sticking her hand down his pants and trying to kiss him or something. Not right for the manager to hit her, but reasonable for Jonghyun to freeze up and want nothing to do with the matter. Fans and managers both need to check themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Supposedly the girl who got hit had run up to Jonghyun and kissed him, which is why he was rubbing his mouth. Still, I think it's sad that some of SHINee seemed completely unphased by how it was handled... I say some because Taemin and Minho were obviously in shock over what happened and were concerned for the girl, especially Taemin.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I hope excluding EXO from your comment doesn't actually exclude EXO and EXO fangirls or boys from your point.

    ReplyDelete
  54. If she did tried something like that, Jong would push her away himself or the other members would react as it's not something anyone would just ignore so I highly doubt the fan was actually molesting him. Bothering him yes but putting her hand down his pant? Come on, it sound fake.

    ReplyDelete
  55. this where you got wrong. not all fans that waited at the airport to have a glimpse of their fave idol and to give gifts and all are equal to sasaeng. these fans at the airports mostly are just there to welcome or to say farewell to the idols only and after that, they went back home. it's not like sasaeng that have to follow them around always... however, i do admit that sometimes fans also crossing the line also... the managers too...

  65. Brainless or not, fangirl or not, it is just RIDICULOUS that a grown man feels the need to hit a young girl! I understand he may be frustrated but please blame lack of security or prepare better in advance. ReplyDelete
  68. Both sides are wrong, I guess. The manager shouldn't hit the girl, but the girl also shouldn't go too near. I mean people have their comfort zones. And idols are people too. Sometimes sasaeng fans have to respect and think about how their idols would feel first. And the manager should have spared a thought about the fangirl

    ReplyDelete
  69. "although I have a feeling entertainment companies just don't want to waste money on security". this or just it's part of the show - airport fan service, pictures for journalists. Usually airport for other stars it's just an airport, to get from A to B. But in k-entertainment it's a big thing (with all this airport fashion and shit)

    ReplyDelete
  70. I would let someone punch my face just to see T-ara live. Anyway, I don't recall hearing such incidents for any girl group. Is there one?

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think people should get hurt regardless of being a female or male. The difference in sexes were made up by PEOPLE. Not god, not some spirit, PEOPLE. PEOPLE made the rule that guys are stronger, shouldn't hit females etc. There are studies where females are as equally aggressive which isn't portrayed in media because it's 'taboo'. If females are looking into equality, I think they should also work in this aspect.

It's disgusting to see the two face people around here.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I swear to god that if someone ever does that to me I'd make sure to make them spit their dicks through their mouths with how hard I would hit them back.

    This is just so wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'll bet if them celebrities showed that they gave a fuck, the crazy fangirls or sasaengs would be encouraged to throw themselves at celebrities even more.

    ReplyDelete
  74. this is a good kick in the stomach. "when did my life become so pathetic?"- fangirl after getting a nice smack

    ReplyDelete
  75. This article is a little confusing? I'm not sure fans really understand what's going on. These are just the facts:

The manager shown in these pictures is allocated to SHINee, mainly. In the newer photo, he is simply standing near EXO's Tao and Sehun. In the video, Tao glances at the girl after the abuse. On another occasion, SHINee's manager, looking after EXO, knocked a fanboy's gift away from Kris.

In the older photo, the fangirl who was hit allegedly tried to kiss Jonghyun, which is why his head is down and he is rubbing his lips. This has not been proved. Onew and Key are next to him and did not react. Taemin and Minho were behind the manager, and both seemed concerned.

Finally, the incident of Sehun smiling after the manager hit a fan: several Chinese fan accounts state that another fan was shouting out at him 'I love you~' in a comical manner. As a result, he did not see the incident.

How you interpret the evidence is up to you. A lot of videos, gifs and fan accounts are circulating around Tumblr about these incidents: look them up, and be informed before you start your argument.

In my own personal view, these managers need to be fired, and other mangers need to be trained to deal with stressful situations. Abuse is not acceptable, under any situation (unless someone's life was in real danger). Although these airports can be a veritable nightmare, managers need to be trained to cope with the crowds. Removing the abuser from the situation ends it there.

I won't talk about the reactions (or lack of) by the idols. I've never been in a situation like that, so who am I to judge? I've never been pressed by thousands of people, all trying to grab me. I imagine it's distracting.

  77. i've never seen a VIP being hit...so why put big bang there?

  78. Sometimes I think the managers go too far then again when I see how exo fans get I think they are in the right for hitting some of those people. It's a toss up. If you don't want to be hit don't do anything to hurt the guys. But if a fan is just giving them a gift I don't feel they should be hit.

  81. i still dont get why they dont know how to hire bodyguards... theres no bodyguards in SK??! there are professional bodyguards that are trained to control masses without smacking anyone BUT since companies mostly SM -imo- want to let fans have the illusion that oppa belongs to THEM and that oppa only looks AT THEM , theyre okay with sasaengs been all over their artists because in the end they are consumers and will give the company $$$... if you ask me, managers should be just that... the ones in charges of schedules, meals, etc. but not drivers or bodyguards...! there should be managers, a chaffeur AND a bodyguard... not that random all-n-one thing they do! cant believe some companies are that cheap... this guy looks like a psycho but people should consider that managers are maybe as stressed and busy as the idols tryng to get them in time to all places and on top of that they have to drive them everywhere with almost no sleep -which is most of the time the reason of the car accidents idols experience- so if youre short tempered and on top of that, the clock is ticking while some random people is on your way, it can end in disaster..

  83. 8. [+111, -17] JYP's problem is that none of their artists are talented. YG's problem is that all of their artists cause trouble. SM's problem is that their songs suck and their managers cause trouble?

    Haha. :'D

  84. It may be just me but 1) I'm never being an anti fan to SHINee. 2) Sm's songs do not suck. 3) SHINee was a bit emotionless to what happened. 4) The fangirl was kind of touching Jonghyun not sure if you guys saw it though. 5) I think that the manager was completely wrong to hit the girl though. 6) although I read somewhere that he told her to stop but she didn't listen.
Over all , I think that they should recieve better trained managers and less obsessive freakish fans who grope their biases. T_T done.
