Same Old: IU

Article: IU takes a picture with a female fan in waiting room 'fortunately she looks bright'

Source:
Ilgan Sports via Nate

1. [+272, -26] Look at the dark circles under her eyes, does that look bright to you

2. [+194, -24] She looks like that lawyer that comes out at the end of the quiz show. Just a member of the cast. If you want to be a national celebrity, don't ever upload anything to the internet... Like Lee Seung Gi

3. [+106, -14] How is this worthy of an article???

Article:
'After IU's scandal' spotted in the waiting room "Still loving her fans"

Source:
Sports Chosun via Nate

1. [+529, -101] Now, I don't see IU as lovely no matter what picture I look at her of. Hm... Looks like it really has affected her image a lot.

2. [+326, -31] The journalist is such an anti ㅋㅋㅋ He knows that posting up articles about her will only garner hate and yet he still does it ㅋㅋㅋ

3. [+184, -35] The weird thing is that I don't really care that much for Eunhyuk even after the scandal but now whenever I see IU's picture, she's just like a regular idol to me. I don't see any of that unique, nation's little sister image she had to her. She's just another solo female singer that can sing, nothing more, nothing less... I guess image really is important, considering what happened to IU in the blink of an eye.

  2. What? No it doesn't. Moon Geun Young is the "nation's little sister".

  3. OTL k-netizens.
"I don't see IU as lovely no matter what picture I look at her of"
And the third comment of the second article, full of bullshit. I don't even know what to say. Can the hate get any more stupid??

  4. juniel who?? Netizens don't even recognize her, and her song reached top spots in just few minutes before dropping to obscurity

  5. I am finally getting it after following few of these articles. Even though they may not be billed as such, these "news' are like the gossip rags that you see when you are at the grocery lines. I guess it's shame on me that I believed there was any form of journalism or, put it another way, that they would have some professional & ethical standard such as accuracy to the stories that they are reporting. Further more, they are biased and aimed to attract certain "crowds" & elicit a specific reaction from them.
Since I understand now that they just print gossip, rumors, & innuendos as "news", I can just take it lightly and not give it any more credence than I would give to those gossip rags in grocery ling which at least don't pretend to be news like these articles. Gossips & rumors are fun as long as people don't forget that it is exactly that and not facts.

  6. Exactly. I think Koreans for the most part recognize that Korean entertainment journalism is trash at best, but because international fans only have a selected range of outlets like allkpop and soompi to rely on for news, they tend to hold them to different standards which brings some confusion when a portal you go to for facts and news also starts reporting frivolous crap... but really, allkpop or soompi are both unfiltered versions of the Korean media. They post the same crap.

  9. i think we should all just try to understand their cultural views. even if it is wrong..

  10. So can IU go back to singing good songs that aren't full of aegyo like she did when she debuted? I hope so.

  11. IU is not a child, she's a woman.

  12. I'm not sure that these netizens actually are representative of Korea. All you have to look at is comments by the netizens to the Phillipino Korean who recently got elected. If the netizens represented Korea, she would not have been voted into the office. Plus as someone pointed it out, these articles have been designed to attract certain crowds and solicit their comment.
So, I doubt this represents the "cultural views" of Korea as a whole. My parents are from Korea and they are rather old fashioned but even they did not react as these netizens did to the "scandal" picture.

  13. all relative. to someone who is much older, iu would be a child. just like to a 15 yr old, someone thirty is ancient.

  14. You're right. Apologies. I guess you could say her cute childish image stuck with me.
I'm younger than her too.. :/ oops.

  15. I wish T__T
If only FNC would let her earn the title rather then shoving her down the throats of everyone..

  16. I think IU is one those naturally cute and beautiful looking girls. This sounds more like jealous & hateful people trying to convince themselves and others that she isn't all that. The green just seem to ooze from that statement. I am a female and I think she looks pretty. Some people are trying to down play everything about her just 'cause of the recent happenings.
Perhaps it's that mentality that says "If I repeat it often enough, people will believe it". Although it seems to have worked with some of the K-netizens?

  17. You're right. These netizens comments don't represent the whole country's opinion. My (korean) guy friends reaction to IU's scandal was oh no jieun-ah! eunhyuk you bastard! and they moved on.already. In Korea netizens are always bashed because of their hateful comments but the media made it look like netizens have such huge power. In reality it's not. I'm Korean and female. I hardly talk about celebrities with my friends. Even when I was a teenager when SUJU and DBSK were active I and my friends didn't care about them. We talked about dramas and songs but not celebs private lives or anything. Now I'm 22 got interested in Kpop because of my foreign friends and started reading news on NATE but seriously the comments there are so full of hate. They hate society, celebs, people, women and everything, Every time I read those netizens comments I think some of them have some serious issues they just don't realize THEY are the problem not the celebs or other people. It's not just Korea. On Youtube and other sites you can easily find that kind of comments. People are going crazy... Sorry for the long comment.

  18. yep you are right about that too.. its something mention every now and then. these comments that netizen buzz posts from nate or whatever.. its not the general view..

  19. I just hate how everyone's dissappointed at IU but nobody says a thing about Eunhyuk....¨The weird thing is that I don't really care that much for Eunhyuk even
after the scandal but now whenever I see IU's picture, she's just like a
regular idol to me.¨ this is a proof

  20. for me, iu was a good looking and talented singer, who was also good at mc-ing, really nice to her fans, and if you watch her variety shows, you know she's smart and mature for her age (at least on-screen).... and she still is. nothing more, nothing less. those "innocent maiden" lovers can seek someone else to stan. iu will continue her career with her talents, hopefully.

  21. she looks like a fat bitch

    1. You're that Hyuna fan who likes to leave nasty comments about IU.
To chase after IU articles to leave nasty remarks must be tiring.
