Same Old: IU

Article: 20 year old IU, you should meet Go Hyun Jung unni [Editorial]

Source:
Oh My News via Nate

1. [+825, -98] She's the one that messed up on Twitter

2. [+826, -157] Her fans have every right to be angry. Idols live off of their image and she used that to her absolute advantage and succeeded. She's the one that pretended that she was a little girl that was shy and didn't know anything and made hundreds of thousands of dollars that regular people couldn't even dream of earning. Now they're trying to come out and say that her fans have no right to say anything because she's a woman? She made money off of her image. This is an obvious response. The reason Goo Hara isn't getting as much hate is because she never pretended like IU did. IU manipulated her image to make money.

3. [+705, -106] The media keeps missing the point here and they keep trying to make it seem like everyone's mad over a dating scandal but we all know the real reason... The media needs to just shut up.

4. [+193, -27] 'Woman' IU has done no wrong but 'product' IU's career is over

5. [+135, -27] The more Loen media plays like this trying to turn her image around, the more people will just continue to call her a sl*t. It's pathetic and cheap.

  2. She should come out with a super sexy concept. If they say her career is over, she has nothing to lose, and maybe she'll gain new fans with her new image. Lol.

  3. Actually the netizens are right this time, I feel the same way and iu is my favorite Singer. However, I'm still a fan and I really wish this whole thing would blow over so she can have a successful comeback in December... I really miss her December comebacks

  5. I really wouldn't give a shit if it was some generic "idol", but it's IU. She can sing, and she sings well. She screwed up, clearly, but it's sucks how her music won't be objectively viewed anymore. The picture's always going to be mentioned, unfortunately.

  6. i'm actually kind of amused. i wonder how long they will try to keep the "scandal" going?

at first, the netizens/antis tried to make it scandalous. it seem to work for a bit but people with eyes and brains figured it out, it wasn't as scandalous as they were trying to make it seem (it's a relationship scandal vs sex scandal that they were trying to make it)

now, they're trying another tactic - oh she fooled us!

sigh. these netizens/antis sure are stupid if they can't distinguish between song concept vs real life. i mean this girl's interview was very realistic with admission to drinking, watching a porn, wanting to go clubbing, etc

in another words, the things that a lot of girls at least wants to try once even if they later decide that they don't like it. iu seems pretty darn normal and real.

so much for the "lying to us" angle. if they're too dumb and choose to ignore what she says in interview, they shouldn't bother using the "lying to us" card.

  7. god no. the girl should not with all the antis attention so focused on her. she should go for whatever would give her an awesome comeback. show them the talent that got her to where she is and gained her the fans even when she was a chubby 15 year old.
focus on talent & quality vs shock

  8. sings really well & composes some awesome songs. i'm still waiting for things to settle down to see how the cards fall. too many antis going online to vent their hate to accurately judge anything right now

yes, I think she was drunk at 5am or something

  10. IU is a player, she dated guys from Super Junior, MBLAQ, B2ST and she wanted Taeyang too ..

  11. I don't think IU is an idol, she is like Ailee, Juniel, Lee Hi, a singer.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yeah, that was my whole point LOL that she isn't any old idol.

  13. woah.. hold your horses girl/boy. there's no proof and don't go around sprouting nonsense. you definitely sound pressed/jealous as hell. perhaps you need to take time off and just spend some quality time with some friends to regain your perspective

  14. IU should just quit the entertainment industry and marry eunhyuk so he can have a home to return to once he comes back from the army

  15. I am pretty sure Eunhyuk and IU broke up, that is why they cant up with the "truth". She did a mistake, and obviously messed up her brilliant, but i sincerely believe everything happens for a reason. Maybe its an opportunity for her to go back to that 15 years old chubby but very passionate and talented IU? Come back with an awesome song that highlights your talent, it has to be soo good that even haters cant say anything. I am not a fan, never was, but I really hope people will give her second chance, she deserves it.

  16. the Netizen have a say in this matter. whether its right or wrong its just ur own personal POV. international fans wont understand how is this becoming such a big whoop, understandable but not excusable mistake.. in Korea, IU is not just an idol with great vocal, she was..'PERFECT' in everyway. she's very nice girl, respect elders/sunbae, love and beloved by her fans, pretty, gullible. innocence/naive. FGS,Korean view her as an angel rather than a normal singer, they love her inside and out. till whenever she did any stupid mistake, peoples react like "aww..how cute ^^". and whenever she went to an event/show, her sunbae will treat her really well (RM for example) and care for her like their own little sister (thus NLS came). My point is, she was beloved all over Korea, so u can see how is this a HUGE BETRAYAL on her part when she publish that selca (if u still dont understand, then u r on ur own). again im not saying netizen r right/wrong to trash her but i understand them and it was great that there r still a few fans who stand for IU in this matter. Hope IU gonna turn out alright (though its gonna take some time). still, i didnt appreciate her silent treatment over this shit. idk, maybe it was a trend in Kpop that idols stay silent if they ever screw up but it just seems like she was at fault OR just trying to runaway from the prob and hoping for fans to just forget about it.

    1. I really like your comment u said exactly what's on my mind ppl here are still missing the point but u laid it out exactly.

    2. Pffttt... what r u on? To claim that they viewed her as perfect?!? Huge betrayal? I feel like I am reading a really badly done novel plot. Get real.

  17. Knetizens are so stupid.
IU did not make her image her company did. If you really truly believe every single thing kpop idols portray then you are dumb as fuck, I'm sorry. Everything is bullshit in kpop.

  18. Does anyone know exactly when (in Korean standard time) she posted it? How long was it up before she deleted it??

    ReplyDelete
  19. taeyang hugged that slutty slut face. i hate iu

    ReplyDelete
  20. They're own fault, if they were stupid enough to believe that IU was innocent as she put off.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Best comment here. The fact that k-netizens bought IU's "innocent" image in the first place just shows what fucking outstanding dummies they all are. It's always funny when reality bitch-slaps these little keyboard warrior douchebags and they go and have a cry.

    I agree

    ReplyDelete
  24. and why do so many international netizens call Hyuna a slut all the time?

    ReplyDelete
  25. fans are stupid... antis 1000 time more stupid

    ReplyDelete
  26. that's so right! IU maybe innocent on the outside but she is a real SLUT inside. and Hyuna/Gain? slut outside, ANGEL inside ^^.. pfft ~~

  27. She blew it herself, it her mistake this happened, and now the world knows that she was riding oppa's cock while being a minor.

She does not deserve any sympathy, as she was fooling everyone for years with her loli virgin image, while being a babyfaced closet nympho.

    ReplyDelete
  28. No one even knows if she was a minor that pic could have been taken a month before she burnt her pajamas.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Last I checked all idols have an on screen image for you to believe in their image is stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anytime a female idols, other than BEG, does something sexy international netizens call them sluts but you know it never goes the same way for their 'oppa'

    ReplyDelete
  31. I realized something as I read the responses. It seems like it's the females who are responding more vehemently and negatively about this than the males. Really, as a female, I am disconcerted by this response. But looking at the responses, a lot of it seems to caused by envy and jealousy - her for having what they lack (success, achievement, etc) and delusional minds thinking she's taking something that belongs to them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. but k-netizens are still smarter than intl' fans :(

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Excuse me?!?! They are not smarter. They are no smarter than the i-fans. They are fallible and prone to jumping to conclusions and ignoring facts that are inconvenient to their "truths" just like fans anywhere. Just look at Tabloid and what he went through because of them. They were so sure that they were right that they ignored everything, including facts, that did not fit what they considered the "truth".

  35. Netizens need to understand that an image is an image. In real life they could be nothing like what you would expect them to be, and in case they didn't know, idols don't choose their image. Their company chooses for them ._.
