Same Old?: Block B, Big Bang

Article: Block B to collaborate with British pop star Alexandra Burke

Source: TV Daily via Nate

1. [+235, -74] Will you guys stop it already. They already fu*ked off like you guys asked and reflected while shaving their heads, unlike that Nichkhun b@stard that hid behind the power of his company and muttered some sorry apology. These guys even recorded a video of their apology. What happened to all you b@stards that begged everyone to forgive that star that almost killed someone? Psy did drugs and evaded the military and yet he doesn't get even a quarter of the hate G-Drag does. What's up with the double standards towards Block B when they already apologized and reflected.

2. [+155, -42] You guys are all so fuc*ing pathetic ㅋㅋㅋ First you call their achievements on the Billboard as media play and now that they're representing Korea to collaborate with a pop star, you're all hating on that too ㅋㅋㅋ

3. [+90, -36] These kids are way better than that kid that did marijuana and thinks that he's getting hate because he's so popular and awesome. I guess to VIPs, any crime is worthy of forgiveness as long as you have a big fandom

4. [+214, -180] Guys, remember not to repeat what you did if you find yourselves with just $5 left in your pockets in Malaysia.

5. [+145, -140] So how much did they pay you? You guys will do anything for money, huh???

  1. netizens must have high blood pressure cause they're mad ALL THE DAMN TIME. the fact that seungri is enjoying his time pisses them off, it's absurd. yes netizens, the way youre acting is actually quite funny, please don't burst a vein.

  2. why are people mad because Seungri likes to slap and hit women when they're having sex?

who cares if Seungri treat girls like cheap sl*ts?

fans forgive Gdragon drug scandal because he's taltend and hot... and c'mon everyone use drug.. like JYJ Junsu & Jaejoong or SJ Eunhyuk.

    1. Probably fans were able to forgive him because it was his 1st ever mistake and the result only was that minimal use. So why keep hatin.

If he did smoke regularly like those guy in Supreme Team. Off u go... Fans can't help no matter what.

    2. That's a dumb excuse since GD still did something wrong while BlockB words were misunderstood
Zico said he only have $7 in his pocket now but he'll donate it, not he'll only donate $7.

      Delete
    3. Nah, same as GD
Netizens were done believing that Block B had attitude problem and rude during Thai scandal.
Time will only help changing that stereotype.

Same as GD, even he is no longer associate with any weed anoymore. He will always be blamed for that action.

Sometimes you can't just compare. GD and Psy are way more similar in scandal.

      Delete
    4. I love how that's always VIPs excuse "everybody uses drugs so that makes it okay"

You have the IQ of dirt.

    5. I agree VIPs are seriously stupid and wow how can you just lie and say JYJ and Eunhyuk smoked when it's not even true, of it's true talk but don't lie to make ur artist look good and smoking is still a bad thing to do, I'm sure you wouldn't be happy to see ur son or daughter taking drugs.

      Delete
    6. Nah using drugs is not okay.

Be Psy or GD or many K celebs, it will never be ok.

But the thing is GD did learn his lesson , same as Psy and others. People need to give anyone a second chance. And GD had his.

So what wrong with you guys Haters can't stand much? The fact that GD is still much loved and more relevant than your bias??? So you hate him for that? Once GD is no longer famous, you may die happily ?

As a VIP, I was mad at him. But forgiven a long time ago too. I bet many of you would do the same if your bias was under same scandal, you continue support them, right?

Just learn to chill. No need to be hatin all the time. That doesn't change the fact the the person you hate will disappear. Learn to live with it. It makes your life a little more pleasant perhaps ;)

    7. Gdruggie is relevant cuz he's hated by the Koran public, he's only loved by his fans

    1. Why?

      Based on RUMORS?

While Jonhny Idols can survive those groundless rumors, I'm very positive Seungri can too.

And Haters with no good life like some of you guys can only live a pathetic bashing life forever all you want.

      Delete
    2. Lol Johnny? You mean from jpop? Groundless? Like Ryo biting fetish?
The reason they do well is because JE is a big company that know how to do media manipulation. They're kinda like SM + in Japan people just don't give a damn. It's well known JE boys whore around or party but the people just don't care about it as much as Korea which is "conservative" on the surface. That one guy from SMAP ran around drunken naked one night and screamed "what's wrong with nudity?" when he was arrested is fine after he took time off from the public eye

  12. ''Look at Sex Seungri smiling like he fu*kin enjoys it'' ...well he is at a photoshoot with his friends/bandmates...is there a reason not to enjoy and have fun?

  13. I'm a VIP but I understand why people hate on him, he did something wrong, didn't apologized when it happened and waited a long time to do so. Then acted like nothing happened and started bragging about how talented, loved and rich he is and wrote a song about it and saying his antis hate him for those things.
He didn't take time off too, do he basically acted like TARA
Plus he's not a good leader, he doesn't allow the others to shine like Daesung and Seungri and even when Seungri released his solo he had to insert himself in it
He likes to be on the spotlight all the time, he and top can rap but the others have beautiful voices but they get less lines and when they went to prompt in Japan he didn't even bother to learn the language and he didn't even sing his rap in their Japanese but in English!
He doesn't seem to care about the other members except for Taeyang since their best friends, he is not even close to TOP even though they worked together a lot.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with the leader and Japanese thing, I always wondered why he and TOP don't even bother to sing in Japanese when they're promoting in Japan maybe that's why they're not famous there.

      Delete
    2. This, all of it. He makes too many selfish decisions and it wouldn't annoy me as much if he weren't in a group, but he is, so his actions affect everyone (and I'm sure Seungri's careless scandals didn't help either). He's just really oblivious, entitled and in dire need of a reality check.

      Delete
    3. A VIP my ass. Hahaha

      Reality check please.

Denying the fact doesn't help. We are okay with the haters. If you can't atand them, it's fine.

The more successful you are , the more people will bring you down.

      Delete
    4. ^ You are aware that not everyone who criticizes is automatically a "hater", right? Supporting an idol isn't just about kissing their ass. I have more respect for people who are willing to admit when their favorite has done wrong, like the OP. People will try to bring you down when you lack tact and humility as well, but at that point you've already screwed yourself over.

      Delete
    5. The thing is what this one saying bad about GD is ridiculous...

If she is the VIP, sire she should have known some ' Facts '

First, GD is more fluent in Japanese than TOP. And this year songs released in their Alive album are simg and RAP in Japanese already. :)

Second, GD did disappear , gone for many months not like what she compare to Tara. CCM did not let Tara any rest. He basically gone out of sight , no TV , no CF promo , nothing for almost half a year after the news broke out.

So to me that anon is nothing lose to VIP at all. We are okay if you wanna bash them , just admit it that you are, not acting as you are a fan because you are not as I stated Realty Check above :)

      Delete
    6. ^ They started rapping in Japanese after years of trying to pursue that market. It simply doesn't look good. The Japanese rap is more recent so what OP said was valid. People like you are the reason why sane VIPs and other people see you all as elitist and just plain rude ("I don't agree with you so you aren't a real fan", "bye, we don't need you" blah blah blah). And GD barely disappeared, he just promoted in different places. He's yet to do any substantial reflection. If T-ara could hide from the public I'm sure they would; CCM is in charge of their schedule. There's a difference between bashing and criticism, not everyone will praise your group, and fans have every right to not support everything their idol does. OP didn't say anything "bad", they spoke the truth.

      Delete
    7. I think you still dont gety point. I said we are okay if you wanna say whatever you believe, but please atleast be true to yourself.
That was just plain bias as close as hater could say. Because those aren't facts. If one state opinion , and seems to be more bias as GD was bashed for not master his japanese while Top is obviously worst. smh for OP logic. Thats it.

And dont even start with the rapping in English, aome groups even rapping and singing in Korean and still got ahit load of copy sold.

GD barely disappeared? What a joke. So how would you call Tara or Nichkhun? Even Block B during so called reflection, they did release an ost song. == smh

      Delete
    8. ^ The only biased person here is you. You see OP's words as "hate" because straight up praise is probably the only thing you can fully digest. They ARE ~being true to themselves~ by saying whatever the hell they want as a fan of Big Bang. So what if it wasn't to your liking. Did they lie? I get the point entirely, I just don't agree with it because you're too busy defining what a "real" VIP is over someone's opinion. I brought up the rapping in English because you were telling OP to "get their facts straight" when you weren't even fully correct. You made it sound like they've been rapping in Japanese all this time when they haven't.

And for the last time, T-ara aren't reflecting because their dumbass CEO isn't letting them, Nichkhun is still barely in the limelight and Block B have been inactive for a good portion of the year, even with the OST song.

      Delete
    9. I didn't write about TOP's rapping cuz I was clearly talking about GD -_-
I was going to defend myself but someone already did, thanks btw :)

      Delete
    10. I love how you claim to be a VIP and don't know basic facts. Here's one - top and gd are childhood friends and it's gd who asked him and helped him audition for yg.

The rest of your post is just as off. Wanna hate? Hate openly. Don't claim to be a VIP to have your opinion taken mores seriously.

      Delete
    11. But the facts OP stated arent correct neither. The did rap in Japanese , those English rap was for the past. Fail to reality check. How can OP be one of us . Thats sound more of haters as I told you ;)

And the whilole speaking Jap, OP did talk bad on GD while she failed to see the knoWn FACT that TOP is weaker in Jap speaking. So invalid don't you think?

Its fine if some wanna hate on GD, just atleast get you fact staight , will ya?

      Delete
    12. They're finally rapping in Japanese after promoting there for almost 5 years. Them not using it in the first place was always a bit of an issue. This is more recent than anything, so why are you overlooking that? OP didn't mention TOP's Japanese because she was talking about GD, therefore still valid. Criticizing =/= "talking bad".

How on earth are some of you VIPs jumping down OP's throat when you don't even have your facts straight yourselves? JFC.

People DIED in that flood and they said, "Here's some money. It's only $7 but I hope you feel better."

As if $7 is going to bring back the lives of the people who died... Seriously, I don't know what the fuck is wrong with them. They lack so much tact that they truly should not represent Korea on any global platform until they learn some fucking manners.

  24. "Because he's talented and hot"
Lol yes, 100%. Also because VIPs aren't mad, we know how to find it in our hearts to forgive our boys. They don't know everything; the oldest is only 25 years old. They're still babies to the world, still learning. Most of us know that hate doesn't bring you anything but bitterness: prime example? These netizens. (besides, we'd probably be too lazy to hold hatred in our hearts for long).

Besides, BIGBANG tries to stay positive for us and for their many other fans. When they're positive, good things happen to them. It kind of rubs off on other people, and when something bad happens we go, "What the hey? Who cares."

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think he understands very well. VERY well. It's not really that the fans/company helped him out of the mess. The trace of marijuana they found in his hair was too miniscule to convict and charge him. Nothing more, nothing less.

But the Korean public is so damn critical. VIPs tried to uplift his spirit and remember, the demand for GD in Korea is high, scandal or not. I think that's part of a reason why he came back so soon. I mean, look at the episode of Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook that GD featured in not too long ago. Because of him, a record number of fans applied for tickets for the show. People still like GD. He has more love than he does hate, and that's what he looks for.

He had a hair test and it came positive even though he did the tests after allegedly he only took the drug in Japan at the concert.

Basically he lied about the whole thing and I can't believe some people believe his lies.

  32. The people in Korea are not mad because of the stupid $7 joke but during the interview all they were doing was being disrespectful, rude and acting they were the shit when they were being interviewed for the first time in another country.

If you are new group trying spread your name and image in another country you do not act in a manner like that for the 1st impression

The Korean public was unembarrassed because of their behavior since they were there representing Kpop and Korean people

    ReplyDelete
  33. because you understand more from translations than Korean people who actually understand Korean

    ReplyDelete
  34. They never made fun of the flood victims. They even donated $1400 dollars before the interview to flood victims, proceeds from their showcase went to flood victims, and they even donated books to schools. $7 was the money Zico had in his pocket at that time and when they laughed, they were laughing at how broke Zico was, not the flood victims. You've got your facts all wrong. And they reflected and took responsibility for everything. And since you want talk about donations so much, how much did you donate to Thailand? Did you donate $1401?

    ReplyDelete
  35. "I love how you claim to be a VIP and don't know basic facts. Here's one - top and gd are childhood friends and it's gd who asked him and helped him audition for yg."

That's irrelevant. Even with them knowing each other before, GDYB are still the BFFs of the group. That's the point that you missed.

    ReplyDelete
  36. because you believe everything the media says. Plus a lot of people saw the edited/cut video not the entire interview before talking.

    ReplyDelete
  37. erm, just so you know, that part you quoted was definitely misrepresentation by the media. And btw the korean media is notorious for providing incorrect info all the time, so it's always good to check the original source esp for things like scandals. Korean fans have already posted the correct translation; which goes smth like "We can't do much except offer monetary aid" to which the other members asked how much money he (zico) had at the time, and he said the exact amount he had, which was very little. I don't get why after so long people still can't sort out the parts that the group did wrong and the parts that are clearly mistranslated. It's not that hard to figure out. Logic will tell you that it's quite unlikely that a group who did some volunteering work before the interview would actually go and degrade the victims during the interview. So, to reiterate, the group screwed up in the form of their behaviour which was meant to be funny but was inappropriate given the context, but as far as the speech is concerned, the parts posted on some sites (which are of course translated directly from korean news sites) are extremely inaccurate

    ReplyDelete
  38. the problem is about checking the original source; the korean news sites (which international sites translates from) had reported false info, so anyone who only read the news sites (regardless of language) would not get the accurate message. Those who looked at the original video and translated from there would give a different translation of the actual conversation. This just goes to show how far the media would go to stir up an unnecessary controversy. U need to get used to the fact that journalism in a lot of asian countries are not very reliable at all.

  39. my poor double BB's big bang and block b... when would they stop talking bs about them?? there is no "move on" in the haters' vocabulary... k.netizens are mad because seungri gets sex and they cant... XDDD seungri looks effing good in that picture since he's smiling so bright... and he must be that happy because he can spend some time with his groupmates...
and block b... theyre effing mad because that event gathers famous acts from all over the world, their talent is recognized and theyre representing Korea?? how can you even criticize that?!! O__o

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nope I watched the actually video all 28 minutes of it and I understand Korean and they were being very rude throughout the interview
btw I can think for myself thank you

    ReplyDelete
  41. yea, sure they were being rude, but at least if u understood everything you would also know that a lot of what was reported didn't reflect what they actually said right? Like the "Here's some money. It's only $7 but I hope you feel better." part. Apart from behaving like asses, some of the reports on the spoken parts were quite misleading, as i had found out much later after the whole matter died down. After such a long time ppl should really let this go; if block b were a disgrace as representatives of korea, it's not like netizens hanging on to such issues will reflect well on koreans either. Honestly its getting pretty tiring going through the same old jabs and mockery on the same issue. If people still cannot get over the issue, it's completely fine and its their choice. Just that the excessive hate and criticisms after all this time and after all the apologies really makes these korean netizens seem like bitter and unforgiving people.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I know the Korean public/media were blowing it out of proportion at the time and I wanted to find out for myself what really happened so I watched the video. I was surprise to find a rookie(nugu) group acting so obnoxious and rude during an interview. They were a new group most people do not know or care about them and your first impression is to see them act that way eps if they were invited to come there in the first place? I was embarrassed for them bc of their actions and most people of Korea felt that way too

btw I'm not a hater but it seems people do not understand why Block B is getting hated on it'a not about the stupid joke but their actions even though they do not deserve it to the extreme limits that they went through

    ReplyDelete
  43. You don't seem to understand this will never truly go away there will always be a troll to bring things up in every article about gd sg block b etc. but it will take some time for the public to let go of the past(ignore the trolls).

I think you should get over the fact that it prob will take a longgggg ass time(this happened a couple months ago and it's still fresh in ppl's mind) for the general public to get over something where they disgraced their country (<<<that's how people see it)

and lumping every korean out there makes you a better person bc you forgave and forgot about it? Why? bc you are prob a fan(you realize they are KOREAN also)? Hey were joking around and that's who they are right? well the general public does not like the way they acted. It's up the Block B to appeal to the public

    ReplyDelete
  44. Why do you still sound so pressed after all this time? It's been eight months already. You (and the nine people who liked your comment, apparently) obviously have your facts mixed up.

Tell me this: if their intention was to joke about the flood/make light of the situation, why'd they hold a showcase during that same trip and donate books to a school damaged by the flood and donate part of the showcase proceeds to fund relief?

People like to villainize these boys when they don't even realize that they went to Thailand with nothing but good intentions. Yes, they were stupid but are they evil, antisocial misfits who don't understand tragedy when they hear it? I don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It gets so old that people still go by the same wrong information. I have repeated the correct information so many times. I think we should write an essay and give it for them to read over for enlightenment each time they retort with incorrect information. There's nothing more annoying than people talking about this issue like they know it, yet they use the wrong information -___-;

    ReplyDelete
  46. Seriously, G-Druggin and sex Seungri are the worst they can do? Netizens come up with the shittiest insulting nicknames.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Fudge. This is what I hate about the whole thing. People hating on the group who cannot properly explain themselves when others make rebuttal and they ask for specifics, these detractors are not able to explain anything and back down with statements like "you don't understand". Generally, when you can't explain something that means you can't really defend your position.

And yes I understand Korean just fine so I watched the original version of the interview. What did I come away with after watching it? While their behavior was unprofessional, I did not find it to be so bad as K media/netizens make it out to be. Was their behavior bad? Yes. Was it something that was unforgivable? No.

Whatever happened to "no one is perfect", "forgiveness", etc?

I was confused though as to why they acted this way in a foreign country. I found the answer in their most recent Beatle Code interview. Block B was told that the reporters knew their style and they were alright with it. Needless to say, this explanation made a lot of sense as to why they acted as they did while in a foreign country. Anyways, they say a few other things but I'm too lazy to type it out.

  49. Representing Kpop and Korean people? Didn't I just see a comment by someone referring to Block B as a "nugu group" in the comment section? So any Korean pop group represents Korea? That is one f'ed up logic. I can see Presidents and other leaders representing their respective country. I can even see a nationally recognized/beloved athlete/entertainer representing a country but to say that a group that that just debuted in April of 2011 represents Kpop and Korea?

  50. A group that just debuted April of 2011 represents Korea and Kpop? A group that was called a "nugu group" in this comment section? People need to make up their mind on whether they are a nugu group or a national group. Either way, that is one f'ed up logic. I can understand if this a world renowned group or something but they haven't been around long enough to reach that status yet.

  51. This reminds me of that list of truths BBCs made shortly after the controversy and how we'd copy and paste it everywhere on tumblr and on AKP.

Unfortunately, that's the result of media falsely reporting information. It's SO easy to publish an article and pass it off as truth before the REAL truth is exposed, but by then, the damage has already been done. Even if a follow-up article correcting that mistake were to be published afterwards, some of that damage is irreparable. So, for that, I can never respect Korean journalism as a single entity anymore.

  52. .. Isn't that what you're doing lol

  53. How so? I may be a huge fan of Block B but I don't live through them. I have my own accomplishments, my own goals, and my own values. They're not ingrained in every facet of my life and I don't wake up and make my daily decisions in life based on what they do.

  55. I definitely agree...though I still don't understand why they get so worked up over mistakes that idols do. It's like they personally attribute those failures as their own or something...

  57. Malaysia? Wasnt it Thailand? Lol. Not a fan of block b but do get the facts right when bashing

  58. GD and Big Bang is always have a love-and-hate relationship with K-Netizens, seriously...
Netizens love them for their music (especially GD) and hate them for their scandals. But however, Big Bang never had cute, pure, and innocent image since the beginning. They're famous for being scandalous, yet, being so lovable at the same time.
And if you know how koreans love G-Dragon, you'll know that Big Bang's scandals won't have any major effect to their popularity. Koreans are basically G-Dragon biased, despite the scandals and everything.

  59. Never understand the Block B hate. They reflected and people need to build a bridge and get over it.

  60. They did not say that. They donated money before that. When asked how much he had in his pocket at the moment Zico said 7 dollars.

  61. "1. What's up with the double standards towards Block B when they already apologized and reflected."

    BUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRNNNN.
Netizen kids should just stop that nonsense already.
