Not really lol. There are lots of different reasons: unrealistic beauty standards, depression due to intense competition, sexual assault by those in power, corruption, etc

S.Korea really needs to shed some light on these issues and let people know that there is psychological help if they need it.

  3. They should not be mean to people with no reason, but in T-ara's case it's totally justified.

  4. ^ Nobody talked about fucking t-ara in here, the article is about suicides you tool

  5. ^ The T-ara defenders are really hoping one of the girls does commit suicide so they can go around screaming "See what you did!!"

I find it hard to believe celebrities would kill themselves because 'netizens' don't like them any more. But I don't live in Korea, so what do I know?

  6. It's not just netizens tho they do contribute a big part to it. The media is part of the reason as well as the society as a whole treat depression as a mental disease so most people don't go get help till it's too late. I remember Epik High's Tablo talked about it on CNN when he was interviewed.

But overall you can't blame ONE thing as the source of suicide because cases tend to be different for each person. It's multiple things at the same time.

  9. It's a problem within the Korean society. Netizens can quit bitching but it won't stop thhe suicide rates in the country. Like one of the above posts said, " unrealistic beauty standards, depression due to intense competition, sexual assault by those in power, corruption, etc" are to blame. Add bullying as well (no, not just the T-ara case) but that seems to an issue within the Far-east Asian societies. I might be wrong so please do correct me.

RIP to the fallen stars who couldn't receive the help and support they needed.

  12. Boram will be dead soon and it will be Netizens' fault. It's good that they are thinking about this issue before it blows up in their faces in a few months.

  13. There is research found a lot of korean celeb admit having depression and suicidal thought, I wish they can get help from expert.... Same with idols too, the company should provide counsellor or something

  14. ahh so youre part of the problem k.netizens? really?! i never thought of that! it might be because of the harsh comments and the "please suicide" campaigns that are often organized by you?
they might not be the main reason because its not a secret that saying that youre under psychiatric treatment is taboo, the bullying -one time i read about a 10 yr old committing suicide because he/she was bullied... it broke my heart...-, but they contribute a lot!...
theres a need for the own govrment to educate people that going to the psychiatric or psychologist doesnt mean "youre crazy" like most people think... they should get treatment because most of the celebs are said suffered depression in the period they committed suicide. you have no idea how a helping hand, nice words can change someone's life.

PS: RIP stars :(!! ... park yong ha.. i still cry everytime I think about him...! i wish he found the peace he was looking for :(
