Dex addresses criticisms over his recommendation of highly controversial anime

Article: Dex recommended a Japanese anime, now being criticized on women's community sites for being a 'p*do"... but he's fighting back

[+1,247] Well, by that logic, no one should be watching Pokemon either since it's animal abuse

[+1,248] People have nothing to hate on so they're just making crap up now

[+722] Controversial, eh? All of you should reveal your Ridi book lists, let's start there

- [+74] I need to hold a funeral for my library before I die..

[+363] I've never seen the anime myself but I am aware that there are scenes of a young child being r*ped and s*xually tortured - all this drama on the community sites aside, why would anyone with a sane mind recommend such an anime? I'm actually shocked at the comments here defending such a thing

[+104] I looked up the anime because I've never seen it before and the screencaps alone are making me throw up... this is so gross... I can never understand why anyone would watch such a thing...

[+78] If the anime is really about s*xually torturing children, then yes, this is shocking... I like Dex but there's no reason for him to be recommending such a thing to young kids

[+71] I like Dex too, and I get that he's popular and a lot of people think he's cool, but people are being blinded by the 'women's community' aspect of this controversial and choosing to ignore the actual controversy, which is that he recommended an anime that features young children being s*xually tortured. No one's hating on him purely because he's doing well and we're all jealous. This anime has been the topic of controversy long before Dex was getting hate over it. Even the Japanese are accusing the author of the anime for being a p*do because he owns a mannequin of a young girl in his home. Stuff like this should not be considered a 'personal preference,' and Dex is not simply getting hate because of 'jealous haters,' the anime is completely problematic and is considered an issue even among the most hardcore of anime fans.

[+222] Perhaps the women's community sites should worry about their own interests in shota anime ㅋㅋ

[+37] Worth nothing that the Korean export version was thoroughly rated and marked 15+. The people who are crying about it being problematic are the ones who specifically sought out the cut-out scenes and watched it separately.

[+40] The anime has gone through a lot of regulation before getting on Netflix and our other OTT platforms. A lot of scenes were cut out, which is the version that Dex and a lot of other idols have watched and recommended it for. I don't get why it's considered so controversial now 😢 It even won anime of the year because of its great world-building..

- [+4] Food for thought, just because those scenes were cut out doesn't mean it never existed in the production stages, and just because they were cut out doesn't mean all those controversial intentions by the directors were never there... why is this being considered an excuse at all?

- [+1] ^ Well, the average person only watches what they are shown, they're not going to go look up what the original was meant to be or what the "intentions" of the director were. I'm not excusing anyone by saying the scenes were cut out, I'm simply saying that these celebrities were not aware of the controversial aspects because those scenes were cut out in their version
