Article: National Assembly aiming to decide on BTS army perk by April

1. [+1,264, -107] Did their agency lobby the government or what? If they're trying to be granted exemptions by arguing their economic value, than why would any of the chaebols serve in the army? What about all the people with PhDs, why are they serving?

2. [+805, -49] Does this crazy country have nothing better to do with our tax money than waste time on deciding whether to send these celebrity clowns to the army or not? This is so pathetic that I can only sigh.

3. [+392, -20] Just because people are against them being granted exemptions does not mean that they don't support BTS. We are just against perks being given out without standards.

4. [+319, -5] Does the National Assembly have nothing better to do than decide on things like this? What about the really important issues that we need eyes on right now?

5. [+328, -22] At their core, BTS is a group produced to make money. Just because they've become known worldwide is not enough to grant them special perks. Let's please not put into action something that will undermine all of the soldiers of our nation.

6. [+163, -14] BTS... just stop expecting exemptions and just go serve. Since when did it make sense that you didn't have to serve just because you're popular? It's not like you're singers for our country specifically. You're just celebrities who are trying to make as much money as possible... You are not war heroes who saved us from anything! So serve!

7. [+118, -4] I think having them serve as Dokdo security will be the best solution... it will tell the whole world who Dokdo belongs to

8. [+109, -4] These people became singers to make money for themselves... and they want exemptions just for being famous for it? Then what about all the famous businessmen from Samsung and Hyundai? The same logic should be applied to them ㅋ

Article: Will BTS' promise to serve come back to bite them like it did with Yoo Seung Joon?

1. [+1,700, -163] Two years ago, I'm sure BTS felt that service was something far off into the future so they truly thought that they could serve when it came time to. But now that they're older, it's probably scary having to push all that you've achieved aside to rot away for 18 months. I understand where they're coming from because I also enlisted later in life and I really didn't want to go. The majority of Korean men are drafted at a time in their lives when they've barely saved any money or worked a proper job. They're pulled into the mud and despair. But at least BTS has already achieved as much wealth and honor to live the rest of their lives in luxury? Life after service is much longer than your life before it. Don't taint your image over 18 months.

2. [+838, -60] They are pursuing the career that they want, making top tier money, living happy lives... why should they be granted exemptions on top of that? Are they not already being properly compensated for the prestige they've brought to our country?

3. [+304, -42] BTS have brothers who have served already. I truly trust the National Assembly to not make a decision as terrible as granting them exemptions. Don't give up all that you've worked to achieve and just go serve for a year.

4. [+254, -13] Yes, you must serve

5. [+259, -22] Please just serve... granting BTS special perks is basically the same as granting their stakeholders special perks
