Article: [TV Zoom In] 'Empress Ki' Joo Jin Mo and Ha Ji Won's mello acting shakes the hearts of women

Source: TV Report via Naver

1. [+209, -23] Why do I find Ha Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook more romantic and fun to watch...

2. [+153, -18] I only see Ha Ji Won in this drama... So pretty...

3. [+128, -13] Jung Woong In is the antagonist but I'm sure he himself knows that he's truly a bad guy... I bet the pro-Japanese group members in the past were men like him.

4. [+103, -12] Ha Ji Won loves Joo Jin Mo but I wonder what leads her to pick Ji Chang Wook? To protect Goryeo? Out of greed for power? Or because she loves Ji Chang Wook more? So curious

5. [+86, -16] So fun

6. [+51, -10] Doesn't change the fact that this drama is a distortion of history

7. [+48, -10] She matches Tahwan better

8. [+34, -2] All three of them are perfect 100% successful casting. Just like Najung has Trash and Chilbong, Ha Ji Won has the oppas of two countries. Joo Jin Mo and Ji Chang Wook are both so handsome.

  1. I have heard nothing about this drama besides this article post.
Would someone like to tell me:
    1) Is it good?
    2) Is it worth the time to watch it?
    3) When did it start?
    Thank you :D

Agreed. Ha Ji Won is beautiful and charismatic! Plus she's down to earth and is hardworking... truly one of the best actresses.

  11. For some odd reason, I really miss Jo In Sung.
It's probably due to HJW. (What happened in Bali)
    Or JJM. *coughfrozenflowercough*

I actually wanted to watch this but it has 50eps. so I'm still half-half on it but based on the stills i find HJW and JCW have more chemistry than Joo Jin Mo.

  15. it's about 10 episodes in. it's fucking fantastic. gripping story line, beautiful production, badass (and i can't stress this enough) female lead, a good balance of drama and humor, hot boy, manly man, what more can you want?

    ReplyDelete
  16. mte when reading all these comments haha

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love Ji Won and Chang Wook....but 50 episodes and also being a historical drama is not something I'd probably watch

    ReplyDelete
  18. the only drama i watch. seriously the hanjiwon really queen of chemistry. and yes.. Ha Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook so fun to watch. really recommend this drama

That was a movie with great acting but a disappointing storyline. Like you know its gonna be a tragedy.

  20. I'm liking this so far but kinda wish it wasn't 50 eps long cuz knowing me i'm going to get frustrated and bored half-way through let's hope it just gets more interesting

    ReplyDelete
  21. i love ha ji won & joo jin mo chemistry more than Ta hwan simply because joo jin mo put more subtle and depth in his acting ...

    ReplyDelete
  22. JCW is so weak looking; I guess a lot of young girls might be in to that, but give me JJM any day.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Korean king and Mongolian(Chinese dynasty) king

  24. I'm really surprised by the pretty boy craze tbh. It's kind of sick when you think about it that people are basically shipping SN's character with the person who killed her parents. In what world is that going to happen? And in what world will she return the affections of an enemy emperor who at his most benign is like a fly buzzing about her? From what I've seen, her love for WY has never wavered. Even during her wedding day, she could only think of him.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm liking the fact that the Seungnyang/Tahwan pair has heaps of shippers :D

    ReplyDelete
  26. he was also the guy in 200 pounds beauty
I was shocked when I found out. I've seen both movies, couldn't recognize him!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I remember watching one movie with Ha Ji Won and Kang Dong Won. It was amazing. She matches historical stories so well

    ReplyDelete
  28. I hope writer will not change the plot just to give SN/TH shipper some pleasure lol well you know Korea .... but base on their previous work they tend to give second lead more hype in 1st few episode before male lead come to the rescue ... but i don't know about this time ...

shipper have more hope since they already knew that SN/TH will happen since they show their wedding in 1st episode, but i keep my faith on her and WY because of the intense stare and crying scene as a 'forever love' haha

  29. All three of them are perfect 100% successful casting. Just like Najung has Trash and Chilbong,

oh how lovely, when we remember all of them against sequel reply 1994 at first, especially when the cast is go ara, a sm actress. xD

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just looked up the frozen flower and man, that is a messed up story.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I really hope the writers take some of the saner people into account ;-) I have faith that JJM would not pick a project where he'd play second fiddle to someone like JCW.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Historical drama with Jo Jin Moo, Ji Chang Wook & Ha Ji Won?? Oh, YES!!

This is would be like fresh air in my drama land after watched The Heirs. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. sigh ... JCW is good but he still not give any impact to Empress Ki drama other than his 'shipper moment' with Ha Ji Won, but JJM even with just a few second appearance on screen he give this King vibe ...

    this drama is epic!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ji Chang Wook matches Ha Ji Won's visuals more. It's because they both got the pale, pretty look while Joo Jin Mo is the more scruffed, handsome version.

    ReplyDelete
  35. this drama is good, im watching it while procrastinating :D seriously in love with ha ji won
and also i advice you to watch Reply 1994, i wasnt paying much attention to it but when i started watching it just melted my heart. the chemistry between characters is crazy!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm already at the point where I fast forward through his scenes... nothing against him, but his character is really frustrating. He looks like a prime candidate for mommy issues... and the way he attempted to mark his territory during the wedding scene? Laughably pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't quite like dramas that distorts the history way too much that's why I kinda hesitated but I think I'm gonna give it a try for the fantabulous Ha Ji Won plus the script and cast that seem awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  38. yes! finally!! I hope NB will release an Empress Ki article every month...

    ReplyDelete
  39. yeah, me too.. most especially in this drama he fell in love to the "male version" of Seungnyang..

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ha Ji-won never age. Both Lee Seung-gi and Lee Chang-wook are born in the 1987 but matches her so well

    ReplyDelete
  41. JCW and HJW scenes are more compelling to watch.. can't blame them, the writers give them a more interesting love story and lots of screen time too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 1. [+209, -23] Why do I find Ha Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook more romantic and fun to watch...

TaNyang Team all the way!! =)

  43. The duelist hehe kang dong won is hot

  44. Me! Let's go down with this ship! ~weehooo

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am haha I watch the episodes the second Viki says "100% subbed" no joke

    ReplyDelete
  46. I am already watching Reply 1994 I love it :)
and thanks for telling me about Empress Ki as well :D

    ReplyDelete
  47. it's a good movie actually, but it's almost like porn lol

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think the movie was hyped due to its gay scene but the whole movie was more about the love between Song Ji Hyo and Jo In Sung. It is just a normal romance movie with a gay factor. Those sex scenes are handled beautifully. I won't consider them as porn.

    ReplyDelete
  49. What happened in Bali owed me a proper ending. I suffered for 20 episodes to see Jo In Sung and Ha Ji Won get together and what I got in return, Ha Ji Won was killed by Jo In Sung and then she told him she loved him and Jo In Sung killed himself. Where is my proper ending?! At least put both of them in another drama where they can be together so I won't feel so upset.

  50. [+209, -23] Why do I find Ha Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook more romantic and fun to watch...

    ME TOOO !!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. what is the distortion from history ?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I know. The scene of him smooching with Jo in sung is stuck in my head

    ReplyDelete
  53. why did they kill each other. I try watching the drama but got a little bore and I was impatient.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Empress Ki is considered a traitor to Koreans and King Chunghye was a serial rapist and murderer, yet the drama depicts them as heroes.

    ReplyDelete
  55. thanks for that information...now I'm going to be looking at the characters a little different when I start watching the drama.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This is the ending, I would skip the middle part. Ha Ji Won and So Ji Sub were found sleeping together (purely sleeping, nothing more than that) on a bed in Bali. Jo In Sung wanted to find Ha Ji Won but ended up finding her on the same bed with So Ji Sub. He was so angry that he shot So Ji Sub and So Ji Sub died. Ha Ji Won woke up too and Jo In Sung shot her too because he was really tok angry as he felt betrayed by her. She did not die instantly and she told Jo In Sung that she loved her before dying. After Jo In Sung knew that she loved him all along, he realised he shouldn't have killed her so beig devastated and losing his will to live, he shot himself.
