Sorry if you guys think all these articles on rape and suicide are a bit much. They're just issues that I'm personally interested in and feel passionate about. In no way do I intend to paint Korea as this horrible country with rampant rape and deaths, etc if that's the impression you got.

A 12 year old 5th grader commit suicide by jumping off the roof of his apartment building. His parents suspect that it was because his English grades recently dropped and he had a test coming up. He had written a letter for his parents on parent's day apologizing for causing trouble.

It doesn't matter if our number of prodigies are increasing or if our education is at an all time high, who's going to be teaching these kids any character and morals? Making sure our kids grow up with the right morals should be prioritized over their education. How miserable this child's parents must feel... Child, run freely as you wish in the sky.

Has anyone ever wondered just how heavy the backpacks they're carrying must weigh on their shoulders? There are barely any kids that play in athletic fields anymore. What are we teaching our children? What they need the most right now are the ability to dream, the love of their parents, and interest. I feel like the time they spend with their parents will be infinitely more beneficial to their upbringing than grinding away at an after school academy.
