[Rumor] SM to debut a new boy group this year?

Instiz: SM to debut a new rookie group in the second half of this year

"SM's Korean activities are just as active. SHINee's third album is scheduled for release on February 19th while five member female group f(x) is planning a comeback in 1Q13 (first quarter). EXO will be continuing to promote in Korea and China for the first half of the year, and a new artist is preparing for debut in the second half of the year."

-

"I heard about a new rookie group coming out... It's a girl group, right?"
- I heard it's a boy group. A girl group is scheduled for next year.
- The girl group is next year~~!

"What about Jino?"

"What if it's someone they pick from K-Pop Star?"

"The new artist has to be Jino... I don't think they'd put out a new girl group this early."

"They better give EXO a comeback before they put out the new group."

"So the new group this year will be a boy group?"

"I think the debut will be delayed... Last year, an article said EXO would be making their comeback in the winter but look how delayed it's been."

"EXO hasn't even gained footing yet and they're already putting out a new group?"

  2. "EXO hasn't even gained footing yet and they're already putting out a new group?"

    MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY

    ReplyDelete
  3. I doubt they'll debut a new boygroup though. Too soon. Probably a girl group first.

    ReplyDelete
  4. How about you let Exo have a comeback first.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Someone pls September-11 SM!

    ReplyDelete
  6. EXO-K isn't even doing that well in Korea... why would you debut a new boy group when you still have a 'rookie' boy group that hasn't made a comeback for... idk, FOREVER?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh glad to see Jino is mentioned here! He totally deserves to debut, imo. If only SM could produce less crappy songs ;;

    ReplyDelete
  8. aren't they debuting a ballad group or something like that? I remember before exo's debut, lsm talked about debut m1 & m2 (which were exo) and m3. I guess the group that's debuting will be m3..

    ReplyDelete
  9. They just need to give me Jino, I'll be happy

    ReplyDelete
  10. They should just ride on SNSD money making.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I want to know what happened to Jino ;~;

    ReplyDelete
  12. "What about Jino?" hahahahahh

    ReplyDelete
  13. lol i hope it's not true

    i want Jino T_T

    ReplyDelete
  14. ooohh a new sm boygroup. i hope jino is in and they debut with public friendly image and music.

    ReplyDelete
  15. "What about Jino?" mte. it's weird that their planning to release another group so soon but i guess with the way things have been going they can afford it. anyway, it's just a rumour right now, we'll see when the time comes. it's good they haven't announced anything yet. no twiddling my thumbs waiting for a group to happen =__=

    ReplyDelete
  16. what is so special about Jino?

he has a nice voice but that's it. People are talking like he's the next Xia Junsu or something ¬___¬

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Exactly, his voice color is just good, but not outstanding like other SM lead vocals

      Delete
  17. i would like a new girl group which is far from gg and fx + not dancing robots too

    ReplyDelete
  18. I hope SM just disband EXO.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Welp, EXO hasn't even made a single comeback yet and SM's already gunning for another boy group? If SM wasn't so good at their promotion cycles--and their promotion cycles are an absolute beast, seriously the best of the Big 3--I'd be crying foul.

    ReplyDelete
  20. WELL it said rumor right. I don't think that SM would be that stupid. They need to focus more on EXO first before making a new group. How about Comeback SM?

    ReplyDelete
  21. People just like his voice? That is enough.

    ReplyDelete
  22. lol fat chance. they make alot of money for them. so no. just no. they wont disband, take your wish somewhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i'm more anticipated on SM new girl group >.<

    ReplyDelete
  24. he was apart of sm the ballad along with jay (trax), kyuhyun (suju) & jonghyun (shinee). He kind of just disappeared.

    ReplyDelete
  25. there is no where it says that it will be a boy group in the article. its only fans guessing it may be a boy group.

the chances are high that it will either be a solo singer or a new girl group

    ReplyDelete
  26. i wish SM should focus on their songs and debut-ed idols first. I'm a SM stan, but there's just around 6 SM songs/total around 80 songs in my ipod.

    ReplyDelete
  27. when we barely get to see BoA, TVXQ, SNSD & Shinee being active in Korea now they'll come once every two years if SM keeps debuting groups. Well at least I hope they're better than exo (wasted money tbh)

    ReplyDelete
  28. SM, why do you not want to give people what they want: JINO.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'd honestly rather see SME to work with what they have

    ReplyDelete
  30. People enjoy his voice and want him to come ouy of whatever dungeon sm is hiding him in after all this time

    ReplyDelete
  31. lol they should try to make exo relevant first

    ReplyDelete
  32. waaayyyy too many trainees and no place to put them,so debut them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. well, he was good ! can't he be the next Xia Junsu ?he was and still well loved.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah, I think they're actually preparing a soloist.

    ReplyDelete
  35. "EXO hasn't even gained footing yet and they're already putting out a new group?" MTE

    ReplyDelete
  36. I doubt SM will debut anyone soon. Unless a girl group /exosistergroup/ or a totally different boy thing /solo,duo,ballad,band/. Impossible to debut the same thing as EXO right now.
Judging from EXO's debut rumors back in 2010 --> actually debuted 2012 .. I guess we're not gonna see this debut soon.
Whoever complaining about SM having many many groups, these groups are not sitting there drinking their afternoon tea waiting for their comeback. They are active touring and releasing other stuff. Also, SM need to debut new acts now and then. Because groups do not last forever. Bad things can happen all of a sudden.

    ReplyDelete
  37. You didn't have to say that rudely. Other will love him but people like you won't understand the love some fans have for their favourite artists.

    ReplyDelete
  38. He's still hanging around EXO and stuff.. ;-; and I heard his debut was supposed to be on June 31 of last year but it never happened.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Someone pls rape current SM CEO. His ass deserves some fat cock.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Last year there was a debut everyday.. I don't blame SM if they delayed that for his own good.

    ReplyDelete
  41. SM, really?

But maybe because they spend so many money on EXO, which was a completly disaster in Korea they want to rehabilitate their wealth on new group? idk, SM explain yourself D:

    ReplyDelete
  42. I bet is a girl group, SM debut format is male/female

    ReplyDelete
  43. there are many ballad singers lol.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yet they still can debut something like Fly To The Sky 1999 (SHINHWA 1998) and The TRAX 2004 (TVXQ 2003).

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think, because Suju and DBSK arent making as much money as in the past, SM is a little "desperate" to make other "boom" in kpop, cuz now their base is SNSD. Not telling f(x) dont help, but let be realist, they dont make enough. And SHINee is not a "fresh meat" as before.

They are losing a lot money and influence.

    ReplyDelete
  46. i bet these all this jino supporter will just d/l his song if he ever gets to debut

    ReplyDelete
  47. This doesn't make any sense.
They still have a looooong way to go with Exo.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Jino wouldn't go much far.
SM is not good in promote solo idols.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Except Shinhwa and FTTS, Trax and TVXQ weren't aimed towards the same audience and the music scene wasn't as saturated with idols like it is now, making it harder for them to promote dual groups if one isn't already established.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Is this an indirect bashing of EXO?? Get a life hater, No one forced you to view all the teasers.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Well, EXO is the most popular rookie and the rookie that has sold most albums right now. Besides they are way more popular than when other SM groups like SNSD, TVXQ and SJ first debuted. Just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  52. lo NO! typical Delusional Exotic here

    ReplyDelete
  53. sorry to ask but who is Jino?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sm please give me Jino. You don't have to debut another girl group & boy group. You already have enough groups to take care of.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oh yeah you are so smart. You are comparing a group from 2012 with groups who debuted before 2009. You must be new in Kpop

    ReplyDelete
  56. Why should they disband? They have many supporters that love them and buy their albums.

    ReplyDelete
  57. SM have a band but they failed to promote them. And I doubt SM is able to promote a band.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Jino has a wonderful voice and he is a very talented singer and performer. That's more than enough. He is more talented than other rookies in Kpop right now and more talented than some idols in SM who debuted. I have no idea why SM didn't let him debut yet -___-

    ReplyDelete
  59. it's been a while since they promoted a solo singer...maybe they are able to do it now?

    ReplyDelete
  60. It's true nevertheless. If EXO is more popular now being rookie than other top groups were in their debut, imagine them in 3-4 years. You know i'm right, don't kid yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  61. No they are not. They have many crazy and obsessed fangirls but no one except their fans care about them. Their debut song didn't even reached the Top 30 of the digital charts and they promoted for more than 1 month

    ReplyDelete
  62. laughing right now, because where's EXO?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yes, right. SM is not that influential anymore. proof is EXO's debut that didn't blind the public as supposed from an SM group. They didn't lose that much of money though, their groups still bringing the same amount of money as before as a whole.
SJ & TVXQ stopped going further yet they still can be milked to the last second. SNSD is the main act now & able to bring lots of money.
But saying F(x) & SHINee can't help is not right. Both are still young with good talents that SM took their time building them (At least SHINee as much as I know).
Last year they pushed SHINee with Sherlock to show their abilities to public. The result was the continues praise for SHINee after the Gayos which will help anticipating their full album. Big acts doesn't only mean "fresh meat" imo.

    ReplyDelete
  64. You might be new that's why I will explain it to you again. Every SM group was very popular when they debuted and gained many fans. BUT again: You can't compare a rookie from 2012 to a group which debuted before 2009. That's stupid. Youtube is a big help for Kpop groups to gain fans nowadays but Youtube wasn't that popular till some years ago. And fansites and fandoms have changed a lot. They are much more organized nowadays. EXO might end like SuJu (who have tons of fans and can sell a lot of albums but the general public will never really like their music). EXO are also lucky that they have tons of obsessed and crazy chinese fangirls (well I don't know if I should call them lucky).

I'm more worried about their health of EXO. Their fans nearly kill them everytime when they are on the airport. I don't want to know what will happen in the next 2-3 years.

    ReplyDelete
  65. He was a member of SM The Ballad (other members were Kyuhyun, Jonghyun and Jay).

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yeah, what I mean is they can debut a ballad group or a band, but definitely not a dancing group like EXO. The audience will be different.
The music scene is already doomed. If they are going to wait till it fixed they better not debut at all. Yet they can push them the way they pushed EXO.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think it's because EXO-K is not doing as well as SM expected. It's the same reason Pledis is debuting another rookie group when they already have NU'EST. From the company's point of view, this is correct strategy, as long as they have the capital. But this is obviously not so great news for the boys.

    ReplyDelete
  68. The general public in Korea doesn't care about TVXQ and SJ either. Only their fanclubs care about them. So I don't know why you're only taking about EXO like that! Yes times have changed since others debuted but that doesn't change the FACT that EXO is bigger than those mentioned groups looking at debuts.

And as if other groups don't have crazy fan. Didn't a cassie try to poisen Yunho? Didn't ELF terrorize a girl for taking a pic with Kangin to the point where she commited suicide? Yeah, i thought so.

    ReplyDelete
  69. You totally don't get the point.

and btw. TVXQ and SJ do better on the digital charts than EXO. The general public knows who SJ are and they also know who TVXQ are. They just don't care about their music anymore. And I never said their fans would not be crazy. ELF and Cassies belong to the most craziest fandoms (still better than the fans of H.O.T)

    ReplyDelete
  70. oh thank god the girl group is next year :) i know this is out of topic but i m gonna audition this year for SM and i know i am asking for too much but i hope i can debut in the new girl group :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. OMG so he was that guy..I was watching I Miss You from SM the ballad last week, and i didn't know who that guy, he's good-looking and his voice sound good too, what a shame they're not promoting him :\

    ReplyDelete
  72. A cassie didn't poison him it was an anti. Please if your going to start stuff use proper facts. TVXQ is liked by the genral public in Korea. Super Junior not so much, some members yes but as a group no.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Not that TRAX failed to promote as much as they lost members too soon and the singer is now in the military. Trax released an album before this but since Jay had to do so much so he can enlist they didn't get to promote as crazy and bands have a harder time to promote than idol groups because of the intrsument factors. But they did do OST, appear on other SM idol's albums and joined Super Show a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  74. first quarter of the year means March? so f(x) will comeback after shinee? o_o

    ReplyDelete
  75. I hope Jino is in this one

    ReplyDelete
  76. *cough*BOA*cough*

    ReplyDelete
  77. they have fangirls, thats all they need to sell well. Who cares about the general public

    ReplyDelete
  78. woahh kim young min CEO...just debuting jino as soloist ASAP

    ReplyDelete
  79. General Public awarness is the most important
Even if you sell very well, you can't get CF deal with that only right?
    CF deals>CD sales (more $$)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. But out of all the rookies this year EXO had the most endorsements (Samsung, The Face Shop, Sunny10 and Ivy Club). When they become more relevant I can see them getting more deals. Plus what you said is only correct for female groups since they have to rely on public awareness more, in terms of male idol groups album sales and concert tours always produce a higher revenue especially in Japan than they would ever make from a cf...

  80. @disqus_HGo8JaN1H5:disqus answered this for you.

    ReplyDelete
  81. well sm used to debut a new group every year
so maybe they're starting it again?

    ReplyDelete
  82. I thought the most popular rookie group is B.A.P?

    ReplyDelete
  83. A big factor that helped EXO gain so much popularity for their debut IS SNSD, SJ, & TVXQ. If not for their sunbaes, I highly doubt they would've gained so many fans so quickly from debut. SNSD, SJ, & TVXQ didn't really have that type of advantage for them when they debuted.

    ReplyDelete
  84. is just a delusional exotic, dont believe it

    ReplyDelete
  85. Having a year old group doesn't mean they can't handle another one. SNSD 2007 > SHINee 2008 > F(x) 2009.. They handled them well. It's SM not a small company that don't have money or can't do this.
Not saying the rumors are true or anything, just that it is not impossible because they still have Exo.

    ReplyDelete
  86. exo needs to comeback first ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    ReplyDelete
  87. I heard it was supposed to be a 7 member boy group though...

    ReplyDelete
  88. Nope, SMe's prepared to debut a girl group.

    ReplyDelete
  89. SM just. . .blah blah,
just take care of shinee n fx well, so they can big as snsd n tvxq,

    ReplyDelete
  90. They alternate between boygroups and girlgroups though. They never debut them boygroups back to back though.

    ReplyDelete
  91. They did when the two groups were too different. Fly To The Sky debuted a year after SHINHWA, and The TRAX debuted a year after TVXQ.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'm not telling they cant help, but they cant keep a company like SM by themselves. They are really famous and make a lot of money, but not as much as (just an exemple) DB5K made in the past, you know? So SM should find other "boom" to keep their influential power. ;D

    ReplyDelete
  93. HAHAHA no the most popular rookie group is Busker Busker

    ReplyDelete
  94. DBSK is doing as well as in the past and maybe better if you consider they are just 2 members and the less popular.
Before Mirotic, DB5K never reached 500k, they used to sell about the same than DBSK is doing now. And DBSK is doing better each year, they are selling more, who knows what they can do next time?
As Toho they are selling very well too, they are doing a Tokyo Dome Tour this year and the last tour made nearly 100mill USD.
I don't follow Suju but I know they are selling 500k albums and giving successful concert tours.

You want to convince yourself that SM is doing bad because you stan JYJ and don't want to accept the fact that SM and DBSK don't really need the 3 member that left.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I hope SM do better this time, Exo was such letdown, a mediocre band that doesn't deserve to belong to SM.

    ReplyDelete
  96. haha... forget debuting new groups and just give me the only sm band I love... SM THE BALLADS. Seriously that was so so good. ;A;

    ReplyDelete
  97. I wouldn't say they're household names but they have one of the biggest fanbase for a rookie and it'll most likely grow in the years. It doesn't matter if it's from 2009 or 2012 because it's always just about how big the fanbase is. Those who buy their album are mostly local fans, International fans make up about 10% of their total album sales or even less. Korean fans have always been organized, you gotta see the HOT and TVXQ fans before. They're fucking crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  98. most EXO fans came from SMtown fans, no wonder if they easily get number of fans because they debuted when SMtown is already on top of their game. but the problem is, if we compare EXO to rookies that debuting in the same year, EXO didin't achieve what most people expected. with sjdkasjdasj teasers, promotion everywhere, people expect something great from them. but look at BAP who gained more attention as one of best rookie, or Busker-busker (they are not boyband, but they debuted around the same time with EXO) but their popularity is no joke in Korea. EXO is still nothing is Korea. I think what makes EXO popular right now, is only because they are the product of SMTOWN.

    ReplyDelete
  99. nope.. both EXO or BAP is nothing in Korea. you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg_Hx5d-O3Q

    ReplyDelete
  100. anyone remember csjh? don't you think SM needs to make their comeback album?

    ReplyDelete
  101. "What about Jino?" THIS!!! SERIOUSLY!

and BOY GROUP AGAIN?! LOL NO.

    ReplyDelete
  102. okay let's clear it here, whoever more popular bap or exo. they're still a rookie groups, so mostly koreans didn't know them except the crazy fans who's been into kpop since so many years ago. they're still grows up, like the other popular idol long time ago. btw, i love exo, baekhyun's voice is no kidding.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Wow at this rate this new boy group will have a fanclub name & color before EXO has a comeback

    ReplyDelete
  104. Hey haven't cared much about EXO and Shinee's left over in the dark corner and they plan to debut another boy group. Good job!

    ReplyDelete
  105. I wonder what happened to CSJH.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Maybe after they've earned profit from them like...in...forever years.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Okay, until the first paragraph I read it ok, its your opinion.

But you dont need be that gross to try to be "more right".

No, I'm not a JYJ stan. I like DBSK as they are and I dont hate SM. So stop to accuse me.

That was rude, so I will just laugh at you.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I don't think SHINee is in the dark corner. Not anymore ~

    ReplyDelete
  109. "What about Jino?" THATS WHAT I SAID... SM, i honestly cant care less about a new group UNLESS you include Jino in it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  110. SHINee in a dark corner? Definitely not anymore. Korean album in 4 days, Japanese single in March, Part 2 of Korean album in April. Rumors of Japanese album in May, and then another Japanese arena tour this summer. That sure doesn't look like a dark corner to me.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Who cares, it's stupid either way

    ReplyDelete
  112. Then SM will release the girl version of EXO.

    rip k-pop.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I think it's girl group that their going to debut. Considering SMEnt's tradition. You know when we have boy group then there must be a girl group counter part like SNSD and Super Junior.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Lol, Shinee are too busy.

    ReplyDelete
  115. It turns out rumor being true, SM to debute solo artist and he is Henry of Suju M

    ReplyDelete
  116. Yeah..!!!They should make EXO a comeback first before they debut new group.!!

    ReplyDelete
