[+693, -47] I get that guests are being considerate towards the bride but everyone is almost always wearing black at any important event. No matter how much someone chooses to 'dress up,' it will obviously never overshadow the bride who's in a whole dress and full glam, and it's not like any style of dress will change the fact that the bride is the star of the show, so I don't get why people look down on others for dressing a little fancier as long as it isn't white a dress. It's too much. I know the younger generation likes to make fun of boomers and whatnot but they're really no different upholding these outdated values.

[+322, -22] Well, it's a difference in culture, what can we say~ ^-^

[+111, -23] I bet people would've had a problem if Jennie had dressed up fancy... Better for her to choose to stay on the more reserved side. Though she could've gone with some more color than just black like that ㅎㅎㅎ

[+42, -0] I wonder when this even began... because it feels like even 10 years ago, guests were allowed to wear bright colors to weddings

[+36, -2] There is definitely something bizarre about Korean wedding culture. The bride is in western style while the mothers are in hanbok and the fathers in western suits.

[+23, -0] We do have a culture of helping the bride shine as much as she can ㅎㅎㅎ but it used to be that anything was fine as long as you didn't wear white but I think internet culture has made it more extreme where any bright clothing at all has become grounds for criticism

[+22, -1] This really only started happening in the past 10 years or so

[+14, -0] I also found it weird since a wedding is supposed to be a fancy party but no one's allowed to dress fancy other than the bride... I think it helps liven up the wedding's atmosphere if everyone's allowed to dress nice.

[+8, -0] I'm not fond of wearing black to weddings either, feels like a funeral

[+7, -0] Wedding guest culture in our country is so tiring...

[+6, -0] It never used to be this strict until people started uploading photos of guests on the internet and shaming them...
