Simon D showed proof that he donated 50 million won to a children's foundation in support of baby Jungin, to which one commenter replied, "Donating to charity is good but is it necessary to post it on SNS like 'please look at what I did', 'please give me praise'? Doesn't that basically make this a 50 million won cry for attention? I get that celebrities live off of the attention of the public but couldn't you do this in private? What is the point of a celebrity's life?"

Simon D replied, "I'm not asking people to give me attention and praise. I think it needs to be shown like this so that more people take an interest and participate in doing good deeds."

1. [+1,880] Even if his purpose was to show off, he's still a million times better than the people who haven't donated. Why pick a fight with him...

2. [+1,011] He's amazing. A lot of people donated after seeing Simon D do it and I think positive influence like this is so good 👍🏻

3. [+858] Anyone who finds stuff like this problematic usually have never donated a cent themselves

4. [+476] Please don't comment unless you've donated something too

5. [+321] I think donations to causes like this that require a community effort encourages people to share about it on SNS more. I know that there are a lot of people who do private donations as well, though.

6. [+137] So celebrities get yelled at for attention seeking when they post it on SNS and then they get yelled at if they keep it private and accused of not donating at all. Have the people making this so problematic even donated a cent themselves?

7. [+187] It's always the ones who've never donated who have so much to say about someone else's donation... tsk tsk, Simon D, you're doing great!

8. [+79] It's through exposure like this that this type of positive influence spreads to more and more people... it requires a community effort.

9. [+46] Donating your own money is a hard thing to do in general, so what if someone wants to show off?

10. [+32] Even if you donate with the purest of intentions, isn't it just human nature to want some praise for it too?
