1. [+1,869, -49] What he said isn't wrong but it's illogical of him to say that he didn't intend to be racist when he slanted his eyes and yet when someone else does it, they're being racist against Black people. He should know how to reflect on his own actions if he wants to fight the wall of racism. It feels a bit wrong to say that it's racist for others but fine for yourself... Black lives matter but so do Asian lives ^^

2. [+433, -21] If Black people want to discuss racism, then they should start by not slanting their eyes when they see us and putting Asians down

3. [+251, -31] Racism will exist everywhere... just live in your home country~

4. [+111, -6] He himself said that there was no meaning behind his action of slanting his eyes. Why is it okay for him but it's racist when others do it? His problem is  that he forgot that he's a well loved celebrity in Korea but went behind Korea's back to gossip about them. I don't want to see him on TV anymore, or in news articles...

5. [+107, -3] Black people are racist against Asians too. He should go fix that in his own home country before trying to school another country. It's annoying that he thinks Koreans are an easy target and that he can make his money here but put us down too.

6. [+60, -3] He's putting down Koreans in a roundabout way to call himself right.. but it seems that we are on different pages with Okyere. If Koreans truly hated Black people and looked down on them, you would've never been allowed on TV ^^ As a whole, Koreans won't attack you unless you mess with us first.

1. [+330, -14] I understand the message Sam Okyere is trying to send, as well as what we as Koreans need to reflect on. However, I still fail to understand why he hashtagged his post the way he did, and judging by a few of his snapchats, I don't like the way he handled his apology either.

2. [+231, -13] Black and white people... please stop dragging us Koreans into your tangled history and judging us by your standards

3. [+189, -6] It was the Western white people who took Blacks in as slaves so why are you taking up this racism issue with us Asians? And Sam Okyere, why were you quiet when Black people were assaulting Asians because of the virus? We're the ones being harassed by Black people so why are you cosplaying as the victim?

4. [+166, -10] So blackface is wrong even if you didn't intend to be racist but slanting your eyes to mush your face is okay? What a crazy man... just go back to your country if you hate this so badly!

5. [+40, -1] He makes Korea sound like we're as racist as Europe

6. [+31, -1] "Fighting racism"? Since when we were racist? As if it isn't bad enough that he's making our country out to be racists internationally, now he's giving interviews?...

7. [+29, -0] Please take your activism back to Ghana

8. [+24, -0] I used to like him because he seemed more Korean than an actual Korean... but let me tell you, most Koreans are way too busy to be spending their time being racist.

1. [+13,347, -1,055] Okyere-ya, if you want to talk about racism, you should start by not slanting your eyes and putting down Asians. Look back at your own actions. Is it okay to put down Koreans?

2. [+7,296, -254] It doesn't sound like he did the interview to clarify things but rather to make Koreans look like a country of racists..

3. [+6,858, -150] So he slanted his eyes with no intention to be racist... then wouldn't the same apply to the Uijeongbu students? It's not like they intended to be racist... how ridiculous.

4. [+4,655, -108] So it's racist when others do it but not when you do it? You think you can live your life however you want like that?

5. [+4,324, -226] I understand that Black people view blackface in the same manner that Koreans view the rising sun flag. However, as a public figure, it was wrong of you to put the pictures of students up on SNS and directly attack them like that. If you truly wanted to educate them, you shouldn't have acted so emotionally.
