[Pann] Girl groups and their hardest song flops

Pann: Girl groups and their hardest flops

Wonder Girls - Like This (2012)
SNSD - Mr. Mr. (2014)
After School - Shampoo (2011)
2NE1 - Do You Love Me (2013)
4minute - Watcha Doin Today (2014)
f(x) - Red Light (2014)
SECRET - Yoohoo (2013)
SISTAR - None
miss A - I don't need a man (2012)
A Pink - Hush (2012)
EXID - Every Night (2012)
AOA - Confused (2013)
Red Velvet - Be Natural (2014)

1. [+129, -23] SNSD's 'Mr. Mr.' actually did super f*cking well and f(x) hit the peak of their image with 'Rum Pum Pum Pum' and 'Red Light'. Red Velvet was a rookie and 'Be Natural' was a digital single. Wonder Girls' 'Like This' is years old but I still remember it. I don't think these four deserve to be on the list, they're already too successful ^^

2. [+126, -26] 4minute's 'Hate' was their worst flop to date actually

3. [+72, -114] Soshi's 'Mr. Mr.' was so bad

4. [+39, -0] 'Shampoo' was a good song though..

5. [+37, -0] Why 'Like This'? I remember the song and dance were both popular

6. [+33, -4] 'Mr. Mr.' was 3rd on the monthly chart... and it was released at like 2 or 3 pm and their music video was messed up so they had to release it in lower quality on top of their song being leaked ㅋㅋㅋ it received a lot of awards at the year-end despite all that~

7. [+28, -15] I personally thought 'The Boys' sucked harder than 'Mr. Mr.'

8. [+26, -4] 'Mr. Mr.' didn't do as well as SNSD's other releases but it did well overall... so many things went wrong like the music video being corrupted and delaying their comeback, the song being leaked.. it still ranked 2nd or 3rd on the monthly chart so it did alright.

9. [+25, -3 As an AOA fan, I'm amazed at what SISTAR has achieved

10. [+21, -2] When I first heard 'Hush', I thought it was good

11. [+12, -4] I don't like any of SM's songs. They're only #1 because they're sung by famous people with big fandoms, the songs would've flopped hard on the charts if any other singer sang them.

12. [+10, -1] Anyone in my age group would know all of SISTAR's songs, even their debut song ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Push Push Baby`

  5. Mrmr was flop cuz of Come Back Home.

Crush album is too good for a Girl Group, I'm still listening it and I'm not a Black Jack.

    1. Oh please stop. It was rubbish. They went downhill after that twat YG let them release I love you, falling in love, do you love and that other crap where CL was naked.

    2. All those songs were released before crush. The thing that took them downhill was the drug scandal

    3. @Qwertyque what? Crush realesed after 1 week.

And Crush was in top 10 with 3 songs in 1 month.

    4. Crush was so good. Every single track was my jam even though i'm not a blackjack. I didn't like snsd mrmr as much. Only their fans will like it

    5. I totally agree crush was awesome and would have clean up awards if it was not for park bom scandal. One of the most solidiest female albums that year.

hey @anonymous! just want to say i've ever seen people who were not snsd stan but liked mr mr, meanwhile their fan (ME) don't really like it.

    2. I hope you're not talking about 2NE1's "ILY" because that was #6 on the GaOn yearly chart for 2012. That's hardly a flop.

  8. Red Velvet 'Be Natural' is what made me become a huge RV fan. It made me fall for Irene and Seulgi. Flawless AF

    1. They actually did look on point in that video. I enjoyed the dancing.. it was very smooth and hard hitting. Wendy caught my eye and my big black Dick in that MV.

  9. Actually big or small Fandom every person in Korea can sing every Sistar's title track since debut, I dare to anybody to go and ask, they career is amazing so far

    ReplyDelete

    1. Exactly. I just find it weird how people tend to brush them off as an elite group just bc they're not part of 'The Big 3.' They've literally had the most iconic songs since their debut and actually worked for all the accolades they received so far. They even have the best sub-unit of all time! The girls definitely deserve a lot more recognition that what they're getting.

      Delete
    2. It's not about being in the big 3, its about fandom size. Sistars fandom is still small compared to other successful groups.

  10. Shampoo was my jam!

    1. Yeah i really like that song, the piano melody and stuff, good ol times tho when kahi and bekah still in AS ㅠㅠ

    2. It was my jam too! Even the MV is really good and the epilogue song (I don't really remember the title) where they dance some tap dance was really awesome. So sad it's categorized as flop:(

  11. Ok hello Be Natural with Wendy's vocals was a highlight of Red Velvet's Career

  17. lmao at them including like this, glad people didnt agree, it debut at no.2 in melon even when yg released big bang's album at the same time. I remember it was big bang as no.1, then WG at no.2 then all big bang songs then all wonder girls song in the mini. Honestly others wont probably make it to no.2 along side big bang but only WG.

  18. I can't believe they are saying like this was a flop?! Ô_ô

    ReplyDelete
  19. really sad with the fact hate flopped, the whole mini album is high quality. but some non kpop fans loves hate tho

  20. i really like Hush tho!!

  21. Be natural is digital single..also it's remake song from SES..compare this song with another song in the list is unfair

    ReplyDelete
  22. To be honest ..im quite agree with the comment #11..

  23. Hush is still my jam

  24. However Mr Mr and Shampoo are still my jam till now 😂

I mean when you really sit back and think about how many sm stans complain how song quality they're not lying. Sm is still stuck in the earlier 2000s, catchy hooks but songs with no meanings. Do I still like some of their songs? Yeah, but we all know if it were any other groups in any company big or small the songs would flop without a fanbase or company stans to back them up. Only few good ones that come out are Jonghyun's written and composed songs because he wants to be taken seriously as an artist.

    1. Donghae too,he composed and written so many good songs for suju,d&e and others not only jonghyun who is serious about make a good music

    2. I forgot he does it too. Thanks for the reminder. Sorry I don't really keep up with super junior so I never knew about his musical skills.

    3. I don't keep with with super junior so I didn't know he wrote songs too.

  26. I guess I curse kpop, since I love all of these songs.

  27. But....... Like This did welL on the charts and won June Digital Single @ Gaon Charts award

    ReplyDelete
  28. They saying that Mr. Mr. was flop because they comparing the digital sales to CBH but tbh the song was soooo good. The album sales and digital sales was balanced so it's not flop. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Do you love me is a flop?? That song is still my jam. It makes me hyper and happy though lol

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes in Korea most of the songs on this list are flops, international opinions aren't taken into account because it's the Korean public's opinion whether you like the song or not.

      Delete
  30. Do you love me actually did really well in Malaysia.. it played everywhere radios,tvs,shops,..

    ReplyDelete
  31. You guys do realize that even though you like these songs these were still considered flops based on Korean public opinions? No matter what us international fans think these songs were veiwes as flops by the Korean public and some fans and nothing will change that. Except it and move on.
