Old tradition where people would eat hot meat-based soups (like samgyetang/ginseng chicken) on 'boknal' or one of the three dog days to replenish the body with nutrients lost from the heat of the weather. Dog meat is also consumed, which petitions are campaigning against.

The important issue here is that the entire process needs to be regulated to make sure that it's clean and well managed.

People who eat all other meats but are against dog meat. Btw, I don't eat dog meat myself but I'm of the opinion that it's okay for consumption.
