1. [+2,300, -76] By that logic... then classic (Korean) characters like Hong Gil Dong can technically be black or white too which doesn't make sense tsk tsk. It's just who the character was formed to be, why mix racism issues into it?

2. [+1,630, -54] This doesn't even make sense ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's not like Spiderman is a gay black man in the original series ㅋㅋㅋ

3. [+1,143, -110] They should just start creating new characters that fit with the changing times... You can't keep forcing characters made back then with different beliefs into modern day society. I have no problem with a black or gay character but thinking of Spiderman as being black or gay is foreign to me because I'm not used to it... and this isn't being racist, it's just arguing who the character was ultimately made to be. Companies should just create a new character who is black or gay, why force Spiderman into being one of those instead?

4. [+920, -20] In the original, Peter Parker is white and straight. I don't get why that's such a problem that he's portrayed that way in the films. You already have Miles Morales as a black Spiderman and he isn't Peter.

5. [+84, -0] I don't understand why Spiderman being straight is a problem when his character was written that way from the start. Why is this controversial?

6. [+63, -2] You wanna know why Disney never puts out black princesses? Because they put out Tiana and it failed miserably. Disney hasn't made another black princess since.

7. [+55, -2] It's like trying to argue that Yi Soon Shin can be black

8. [+49, -1] The majority of the audience wants a white and straight Spiderman than a black and gay Spiderman. People should just make parodies on their own if they want one so bad.

9. [+48, -2] How can you argue that Peter Parker is black? Then if someone makes a movie about Obama, they should portray him as white and gay. I don't get why these contract terms are even deemed controversial at all.

10. [+48, -3] Ridiculous how this is controversial
