American pop songs analyzed for "lyric intelligence" levels

Article: "Pop music is at 3rd grade level" Billboard analysis

Source: Seoul News via Naver

1. [+98, -6] K-Pop's the same
- Hey, our grade level is not that high
- K-Pop lyrics aren't even lyrics
- K-Pop is more on par with the babbling of a 3 year old
- K-Pop is actually 19+ now
- I seriously hate the random English words thrown in K-Pop lyrics. It's honestly embarrassing.
- K-Pop lyrics are a random mumble of Korean + nonsensical English

2. [+75, -2] Let me see ya lalalala love me hey yayayaya shoobidooba shalalala wooohee wooheee yayayaya (T-ara's Yayaya lyrics)
- Sounds like a song for monkeys ㅋㅋㅋ
- I had a feeling T-ara would be mentioned here ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
- Ring ding dong, ring ding dong, ring digidigi dingdingding~
- I never understand any of f(x)'s lyrics. Their lyrics are so foolish.
- Yup, Korea has f(x) and SHINee. Lyrics meant for the outerworld.

3. [+56, -3] So is K-Pop on infant level then?

4. [+48, -11] Pop is so low class tsk tsk. We have plenty of high quality songs that even Stephen Hawking wouldn't be able to decipher but instead pop songs have "let me see ya lalala love me hey lalalala yayayaya"

5. [+37, -2] For a second I thought the article title left out the "K" in "K-Pop"

6. [+29, -2 Not like Korea's any different ㅋㅋ

7. [+26, -0] Up, down, up up, down, up, down... it's on par with a 2 year old's language abilities.

8. [+21, -4] Awww, come on journalist... There are some texts that moved me when I was in third grade.. these lyrics, however, do not.
