"Over the Lunar holiday, we (the police) received a call from a convenience store owner saying that there was an elementary school student who tried to steal a piece of candy stuck to a doll. The owner reported it to the police in hopes of teaching the kid a lesson.

When Lieutenant Park met the child in question, he found that she was just a first grader who immediately burst into tears in fear once she saw him. Upon hearing more about her background, he was able to discover that she lived alone with her grandmother... Her mother had passed away four years ago and her father was traveling the nation in search of a job. They were barely making ends meet off of the insurance received from her grandfather's death...

'Just how badly did she want that candy?' they all thought to themselves. The store owner passed on a special gift set of various snacks to the lieutenant and he himself bought a box of apples and a box of yogurt to visit the young girl's home with.

The grandmother teared up at the gesture of the visit and the lieutenant made a pinky promise with the child to never do bad things again.

Thank you to the store owner and the lieutenant who thought to console the child with warm actions than strict punishment."
