Culturally, Christmas in Korea isn't really seen as a family gathering or celebrated as anything more than a special day to go on a date with your so (family gatherings are reserved for New Years and Thanksgiving and such) hence the understanding Korean response to Zhang Yuan claiming it's usually a day couples spend at the motel together, "The Chinese don't really know about Christmas. They just see it as an extra day off, or to spend at the motel.."
