1. [+393, -28] Korea's going crazy. Everyone's embarrassed of their bare faces, thick make up is the norm.. and foreigners continue to make fun of us for this. Perfectly fine faces are being fixed up and there is even the term 'plastic surgery monster' going around now. People are falling victim to greedy doctors who advertise the act of bringing a knife to your face and it's all become the norm now. When will Korean society come back to normal?

2. [+397, -45] The reason Korea's crazy over plastic surgery is simple. Looks can solve everything. You don't need to be wise, calm, or be beautiful on the inside. You can have a Ph. D from MIT and have the patience of Buddha but it won't matter if your face looks like Lee Guk Joo in this country.

3. [+239, -14] I remember seeing one woman on the subway and almost threw up at how plastic she looked. She looked really pretty from afar but the minute I got closer, her eyes.. and nose... I thought her eyeballs would pop out. Let's all draw a line somewhere!

4. [+44, -11] Because men won't treat a woman with respect unless she's pretty.

5. [+21, -7] I truly wonder if people get plastic surgery for their own satisfaction or if women are just doing it out of competition against each other.. or is it to be pretty for a man?

6. [+19, -0] You can definitely tell when you go out on the streets that there are more prettier women now. The problem is that they all look the same... I wouldn't say they all look like twins but they share a few characteristics or two.

7. [+15, -0] You look at the junior high school girls on the streets and it's rare to see anyone with double eyelids but you see college or working women and it's more rare to find anyone without double eyelids.

8. [+11, -5] I remember when a group of European women summed up Korean women by saying Korean women take out loans to get plastic surgery and afford expensive clothes, bags, and shoes so that they can get a boyfriend in college.
