Article: 'Night Watchman's Journal' Jung Yunho... the sadness of losing a sister, cries without care of image

Source: 10asia via Naver

1. [+1,212, -56] The caps are so...

2. [+878, -185] Made me choke up ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ It was so sad ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ and his acting was good ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

3. [+890, -313] Goosebumps over Yunho's acting;; he really improved and he's good now ㅜㅜㅜㅜ When he had his hair down, it reminded me of Reverse Theater from a few years ago. So much time has passed and he only gets more handsome. Jung Yunho, just take everything will you ㅡㅡ

4. [+468, -59] Did today's episode have the scene with Moosuk and his sword?

5. [+198, -29] When Inhwa died, he really cried like an oppa who lost his sisterㅠㅠ..

6. [+195, -43] He did let his image go but I liked that he was so focused on his acting that he didn't care about how he looked... And his hair makes him look handsome.

7. [+200, -49] I don't like idols so I avoid dramas with them in it but Yunho's acting was good

8. [+180, -36] So sad to see Moosuk cry like that. His acting touched me.

  5. Dear NB, I have no request. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  6. He improved a lot but the plot is still confusing

    ReplyDelete
  7. Ya'll want that BOA article. I can sense the thirst.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yunho really improved. That scene was so sad and he didn't care about looking good or not, he looked broken and desperate.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I lowkey want that article lol

  10. "7. [+200, -49] I don't like idols so I avoid dramas with them in it but Yunho's acting was good'

    ReplyDelete
  11. He improved a lot, especially in such a weird drama. Now NB, go take a nap and don't worry about these fans requests lol. They can do with google translate for now.

  12. *sprays some water on the comment section*

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yunho, D.O, Sooyoung. And people say SM Idols suck at acting...

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm translating this drama into Turkish right now and I can tell that his acting is really good. He really improved his acting.

Dear NB, can you please translate something about The Three Musketeers?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Apparently +200 people did and the other people who requested the articles because they heard his acting improved. c:

    ReplyDelete
  16. I know he'll improve. Yunho's always work hard and give his best for everything he does. It upset me netizen always make fun of his acting, but no one's good right off the bat, even REAL actors

    ReplyDelete
  19. 200 people upvoting a comment doesn't mean they expected yunho to be good tho...

    ReplyDelete
  20. oppa didn't mean it!!!!!!September 16, 2014 at 4:37 PM

So glad he's getting good reactions, and I love his long hair he looks so good! http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3IYr9unYi5Q/VBg4mJbGdzI/AAAAAAAAUZA/d1RMJmO2xh0/s400/140916%2B-%2B1.jpg

  21. You said no one expected the comment, not his good acting lol.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I did not watch the scene, so maybe he is good now but in the first episodes (before I dropped it) he was bad, the same with the female lead...

    ReplyDelete
  23. he just saw this. http://www.soompi.com/2014/09/16/erics-tears-from-discovery-of-love-moves-viewers/
Eric's acting is really good. and i love this drama too.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Is the world ending? Knets being nice to Yunho? wow

    ReplyDelete
  25. YJM + Eric = can't fail

    ReplyDelete
  26. Good comments about Yunho's acting? Proves that determination and hard work really does produce results! Im hoping these are comments from non fans who are watching the drama!

    ReplyDelete
  27. lol if they weren't expecting him to be a good actor, they weren't expecting to see a comment saying he was a good actor

    ReplyDelete
  28. i'm so happy for Yunho. His acting really improve so much. He is really hardworking and i couldn't be more proud of him <3

    ReplyDelete
  29. yeah especially in the caps :D:D

  30. oppa didn't mean it!!!!!!September 16, 2014 at 4:44 PM

    Fapping material.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why won't they be? He is such a sweetie and a hard worker. No more excuse to hate uknow xD

    ReplyDelete
  32. They've been praising him every week for this drama. He's really doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Honestly, I think to be a good actor, you have to let go of that pretty person image. That's why idols are so stiff and bad when they start acting, they try to stay pretty or force this cutesy image on while acting.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yunho is the most gorgeous idol. I just hope people stop posting pics of his boner.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ur Chami gif !!! Nailed it 👍

  38. Yunho didnt even appear on first episode... just saying

    ReplyDelete
  39. Lol he really sucked before though. It was awful. And I'm sure he's not Oscar-worthy just yet lmao.

    ReplyDelete
  40. i guess idols are right to persevere if they feel that they can improve.
it's better to not give up if you really are passionate and decided to give all your best.
happy for Yunho ^^ he didn't listen to the haters and probably only took notes of the constructive critics.

    ReplyDelete
  41. lol yunho is still pretty much bad. Its just he was incredibly bad before. TBH only SM idol doesnt suck and gives a real actor vibe is Eric Mun.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm glad they are! I'm not even his fan but I like to read positive comments...

    ReplyDelete
  43. JYP has the worst acting idols, ie: Suzy and Taecyeon

    ReplyDelete
  44. Before the drama begins everyone said that yunho is a bad actor and now they are like yunho fans :D

Yunho did a good job. His acting is verry good :3 ♥♡

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well, i guess Knetz and Korean TV critics have a different opinion, since he's
been receiving praises from them since episode 3, the episode he
    appears.

    ReplyDelete
  46. OMG very cute ♡

    ReplyDelete
  47. Y'all know this crazy clid has two faces tho.LOL

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm happy too! Especially that many people assumed it will be a fail before even airing. Yunho didn't receive justice but he is getting appreciated now which is a good thing :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. To be honest, I was a concerened about him, but after watching the first episodes with the main cast I was really happy to see that he improved.
Respect, after all the criticism... he did a very Good Job!
BTW The character Moo Suk suits him very well IMO

    ReplyDelete
  50. You are killing me with these gifs!! Staph..no please continue

    ReplyDelete
  51. Awww, sorry to make you suffer sooo much.

  52. The first episode didn't even have the female lead. They were still kids.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yoona is a very good actress as well

    ReplyDelete
  54. Probably didn't even watch the first episode.

    ReplyDelete
  55. ikr, first and second episodes were throwback and those episodes focused on Lee Rin's family and the female lead's sister and yes both Lee Rin and Do Ha were still kids in first and second episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I commented on this like 2 minutes ago but it seems that my comment disappeared. Why? T-T
Anyway, Yunho still has a lot of room for improvement, but he seriously came a long way since those cringe-worthy HTTG days. Keep up the hard work and you might become quite a good actor, Yunho.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Awww Yunho <3
I agree his acting has improved a lot! Well done!! :-D

    ReplyDelete
  58. They were always nice to him. They were just critizing his acting.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yunho acting all cute. Now, Suffer.

  60. Note to idols: If you want to be respected as an actor,, you have to do a great crying scene.

I can't really judge his acting in this though because I haven't watched anything past the 1'st episode. Is this a good drama?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Lol, I agree, the best actors are the ones that just let go and don't really care about their looks, they just feel free to express themselfs and emotions fully.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Maybe SM is paying for acting lessons these days. Go Ara got praise and now Yun Ho.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Ditto, he did an amazing job here!! love to see how much he has improved, he was always very hard-working and it shows, you can tell he's been practicing a lot. So proud of him. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  64. gosh judge a person by his or her performance, not if he/she is an idol....geez

    ReplyDelete
  65. You... Are cruel but I like that :'). Call me biased or whatever you want but I don't want to believe that there human beings who hate these guys! That should be a crime xD

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yunho has a younger sister so it might have been a little easier for him to really pour his emotions in this scene. I probably won't be watching this for a while but its definitely on my very long list of dramas to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This isn't Yunho's first acting role so they kind of are judging on performance.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I see no lies.

  69. I still can't believe my eyes *.*

    ReplyDelete
  70. are my eyes deceiving me or are people really saying that yunho's acting was good

    ReplyDelete
  71. That's one of my favorite Changmin gifs. ^.^

    ReplyDelete
  72. ...Very few Korean drama actors are.

    ReplyDelete
  73. It was decent, good in the crying scene. But in comparison to before he did really well. The drama's plot is weird though, it doesn't really make sense so unless you're willing to abandon logic then I suggest not watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  74. The only thing they've ever been mean about before is his acting. Really, otherwise, Yunho has an incredibly clean image.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Ugh bae youre doing so well ♡♡♡

    ReplyDelete
  76. SM artists' acting are getting good reactions... it really surprised me

    ReplyDelete
  77. I am so sorry Yunho, I love you VERY MUCH, but all I could see was

    ReplyDelete
  78. Handsome Yunnie *_*
This makes me miss his long hair~

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yunho is the true definition of an oppa ♡

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'm glad that he's getting good reactions on his drama now. I'm proud of you Yunnie! :)

    ReplyDelete
  81. It starts very good, becomes a little boring after some ( episodes 7-10) time but episode 11 fowards it's becoming amazing , IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yunho is an angel with a mission from heaven

    ReplyDelete
  83. Uhm.. aren't you supposed to let go of your image when you ACT? /just wondering/

    ReplyDelete
  84. "You are sure" meaning you haven't watched him in this one.

    ReplyDelete
  85. People should judge on his performance not on his history.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Knetz have always been nice to him they just hated his acting.

    ReplyDelete
  87. It's kind of a rocky logic though. There are stuff that are harder to do than shed tears.

    ReplyDelete
  88. SM's new acting coach is killing it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. If you're also into JDrama, "Life" is pretty good IMO. Pretty dark.

    ReplyDelete
  90. they were always nice to him generally and respect him a lot as an idol. The only thing they hated and criticized about him was his acting. thankfully thats over and done with now

    ReplyDelete
  91. THE LONG HAIR IS EVERYTHING ❤️

    ReplyDelete
  92. Because he is our Leader.... Never fail to amazed us.....

    ReplyDelete
  93. Proud of my oppa. Honestly, he did well with that crying scene.

Though I did kinda laugh 'cause his crying face was ugly. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  94. [+1,212, -56] The caps are so...

    show how ugly his crying...

    ReplyDelete
  95. Maybe SM really did hire a new acting coach. First D.O. then Yunho and now Sooyoung they have all did well in their acting. Now let's wait for Krystal. If she do well too then the new acting coach must be really good. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  96. A long haired Yunho is one of the best things in this world.

    http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww212/sharingyoochun2/pretty11.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  97. Hey no one looks pretty when they cry.

    ReplyDelete
  98. wait what boa article

    ReplyDelete
  99. Sorry, Disqus is acting up lately. I'm looking into it.

    ReplyDelete
  100. High school king of savy

    ReplyDelete
  101. stop it.
    id say performers are artists.
performers have different takes on a specific subject hence their expressions of it are quite different from each other.
id say dara, minzy, bom and cl are performers, hence they are artists.

they have different ways of conveying the same material.
    so please, stop questioning them.

fyi...if you measure your bias using the same criteria you measured 2ne1, then your bias is not an artist.

    ReplyDelete
  102. But why did she commit suicide when things get tough. In stead of solving it together, she's doing whatever she wants.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I have is much love for this hair era. His hair was so pretty.

If only Changmin's long hair gets a comeback, too, because he rocked the ponytails, too.

    ReplyDelete
  104. But if you watch the drama that you would learn when an attraction becomes cheating. The husband never crossed the line of physical cheating. This drama challenges this gray line which mimics the real life. When do you fight for your marriage and whe you should throw your towel. Also the $1m proposal is a round about way of saving the couple from financial ruin and jail time. Again this drama challenges the love notion that is never black and white. The husband and wife relationship werent that good to begin with and on the verge of breaking up long before the 3rd woman comes into the picture. I think the concept and storyline break away from the typical K drama. Who you want to root for isnt clear cut either. I appreciate the uniquness that this drama brings that evoked many debates.

    ReplyDelete
  105. That's right bb.
Now he proves that he deserve to acting.
    he's literally perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I know, i watched til ep 7-8. First 2 are about the king and the ill child and all that.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Changmin looked cute with long hair, it almost got a bit long this year with his curl situation but I doubt it will make a comeback anytime soon xD but to be honest for me next to Yunho I think it would be Yoochun rocking the long hair (ignoring the whole dreadlocks ordeal.. lol)

    http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg485/jyjturkey/get.gif

    ReplyDelete
  108. Nothing great about this drama.
It's all about cheating and commercial branded stuffs, especially that shoes and jewelry brand.

    ReplyDelete
  109. There is a long way to go but he is improving in every role he takes, he looks more natural but he really needs to unclench his mouth when he talks.

I'm glad for him because acting seems like a real passion.

    ReplyDelete
  110. He didnt cheat, but the wife blew it so out of proportions and divorced him. Then the wife married a true serial cheater and the slapped his ex wife who happens to be pregnant. She kept making poor choices as if her husband owed her something. I mean you cant blame a third person for your continual poor choices. Enough is enough.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Gor me, nop, I dropped it at ep 1-7 and I love Jung Il Woo (and well done fusion sageuk). The premise is good but the drama is a bit nonsense, the female lead acts really bad. Good part: the ghosts (specially the little girl).

    ReplyDelete
  112. Apparently she is getting sued for illegally building structures on restricted land...
Here is an article about it
    http://www.dkpopnews.net/2014/09/boa-reported-for-illegal-housing-on.html

    ReplyDelete
  113. Letting his image go should be the correct path for better acting.

Get over that and he'll go places. Why are they so obsessed with their image, its acting for heavens sake.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I find Adrenaline is more addicted than holler.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Changmin long hair is fab

    ReplyDelete
  116. OMG my fave Chun hairstyle. Chun was never my type but good Lord I was crazy over him with that hair. It suited him so well.

Then he grew them longer into ahjumma curls and the attraction was gone once again. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  117. I actually liked Stargazing. It's interesting to see the fans actually come out and admit to the kind of things they did for their idols. And they have a mix of guests from idols to actors to senior singers to sportsmen and it's always fun to see the different types of fans they have even though at the end of the day all fans are kind of fanatic. And Key was wittily funny too. I always look forward to the rejection he suffers from the various fans guesting on the show, because he's always doing agyeo and attempting to convert the fans into his fans but end up failing terribly. The most hilarious moments for me would be when the friends of some fans turn out to be SHAWOLS and they will be accompanying their guesting fan friends to the show but waiting backstage but there's like a handwritten letter waiting to be passed to Key. It's also really touching to see how the stars and fans changed each other's lives~ i'll miss Stargazing!

    ReplyDelete
  118. hey heirs went alllll the way with good actors but cheezy predictable script! i actually like triangle but it could have been sooo much better(and that ending wasn't satisfying at all!).
but this drama doesn't look the least bit interesting so I won't watch. I'm always sad when a good actor is in a bad drama and I can't even waste time for them.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Tiffany really turns me on

    ReplyDelete
  120. its really sad of what happened to kang ho dong. i loved him in 1n2d and strongheart. after the tax scandal all his shows seems to be taken off air after a while.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  122. i love yoochun hair in mortic mv

    ReplyDelete
  123. your nasty LOL

    ReplyDelete
  124. i will watch it if it has a good message and a negative perspective on the topic but otherwise...

    ReplyDelete
  125. thanks, already watched School 2013 and Reply 1997. i will look into Surplus princess. I have watched too many dramas i don't bother with some until i get really good recommendation or review.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Yes, that is true. Oh, well, one day SM will figure out a way to please everyone. I'm not the type to usually check out a whole album even if the title track is awesome, but that's just me. I like highlight medleys because they give me a taste of what's to come and I go into the album expecting things. I always check out SM medleys to see if I might actually like anything from the album. I think it's actually a really smart plan, to be honest. Whether it's working or not is another question, because like you said, it's mostly fans that will check it out. I think medleys are good idea either way. I don't want to listen to the whole 30-ish minute album to figure out if I want anything from it/waiting for the release date excitedly only to find out it didn't meet my expectations. I like just listening to those 30 second snippets of previews to the song as it's quicker. But, again, that's just me!

    ReplyDelete
  127. Tiffany looks like a hooker who would do you for 50cents a pop of crack. Taeyeon looks like a rich housewife that preys on young, teenage boys. Seohyun is the only relevant bish up in this group."Holla!"

    ReplyDelete
  128. People hating and shiz but all I cared about was good music and that was what I got. Simple as that. Just enjoy, don't argue and waste your time on something pointless to argue about, you just lose your own time.

    ReplyDelete
  138. It does matter because (1) no other artists in SM have had a repackage this year (who knows if Suju will), so to compare their sells when TVXQ had basically a mini-single attached to its original album (there to pretty much just add to the original numbers) is a bit unfair and (2) repackages are available to the fandom and the company with full knowledge on how well the actual physical album is doing on sales. CM and KYHD certainly did not have that problem, to need to have a quick repackage. And I remember fans at the time making comparisons to the other albums before repackage was released so it doesn't surprise me that there a rapid buying of its repackage and if you consider the whole b1a4 fiasco that happened just a month earlier, again, not surprised. My point is that: the adding of 3 songs (2 being solos) shouldn't make an album better all of sudden enough to increase the value of 12 track album. Especially one that is supposed to be for their 10th anniversary album.

Btw, Spellbound was released on February 27th and the actual album was released on January 6th so it was a shorter time than the other two but still a decent amount of time for fans to buy a larger share of the original album than it was reflected in both sales. Sure, a month and 20 days is shorter than 3 months but considering that Catch Me made over 250k+ copies in the same span of time between Tense and Spellbound, isn't much of an excuse for the less than 197k copies overall.

There were problems with this anyway. It was put so close together because of (a) SNSD's own release and promotion clashed with them, and which not something you would do to your cash cow by having their promotion clash with another big cash-bringer and (b) because of TVXQ's promotions in Japan were scheduled less than 2 months before the release of Tree. So obviously SM and TVXQ did not plan to promote for more than 2 months anyway. SM seemed perfectly happy taking a week out of promoting in Korea to promote in Japan and certainly didn't have a problem stopping promotion of Spellbound to continue to promote in Japan, despite Yunho's leg injury. Japan is more important for TVXQ, which is great, but it shows where their importance lies and it's obvious not promoting in their own country.

Also, if you compare the timeline of a month than no, Tense didn't outsell Catch Me. Tense was released on the 6th and Catch Me was released on the 26th. You're going off what Catch Me made in basically 4 days to what Tense made in 25, which wasn't much difference despite the scarily shorter amount of time CM had. If you compared their actual sells within a month, there is no comparison. Unless Catch Me received 115k+ in less 5 days before the end of the October, it still made more in a month than what Tense made in 2. Without the repackage of course.

I never said that they weren't doing well for what they've done, despite a big breakup. They still have a large fandom who are older and have the money to spare to keep them afloat despite the loss of some fans to younger groups. You can say the same about Super Junior. The comment was that TVXQ were the cash cow, when their numbers hadn't showed that this year. And of course, they haven't been "2 dudes" for 11 years, there's over 5 years of that with 5 members with larger fandom at the time, with about a year or so of nothing much, and 3 and 1/2 years of actually being just "two dudes". They still haven't surpassed what they were making in Korea when the original group broke up though, and EXO has largely surpassed them in those numbers. But, yes they are doing well regardless, that was never the issue. But are they the cash cow? Again, because of Japan, maybe yes. Outside of it, no. And will that continue once they both go off to the army and a 4 year span to lose more fans (like with what happened with Suju and the decreased numbers for Mamacita), than who knows if it'll last if they are.
