Swings blames ignorance on current events for recent video controversy

Article: Swings makes official apology over 'video controversy "A result of my ignorance on current events"

Source: TV Report via Naver

Said the video was a spontaneous thing they did for fun and claimed the scene was inspired by the noir movie genre and is a highly cliche scene that can be seen in any noir movie. Blamed his ignorance on current events for not recognizing that it could be seen in relation to the recent ISIS terrors and apologized for the misunderstanding it brought about.

1. [+1,332, -181] Just don't bother coming out again. Had you tried this overseas, there'd be a gun to your head already.

2. [+1,266, -165] Just admit, "I was stupid and I'm sorry"

3. [+1,023, -107] Where else would that stupid head of yours be

4. [+894, -78] Well I hope he brushes up on his current events then

5. [+598, -27] I never saw the IS video either but Swings' video is distasteful even without relation to it. It's vulgar to think that a clip of someone slaughtering another human being is funny in any way.

1. [+275, -14] How does he not watch the news often enough to not know about the IS terror? Rappers are known for their criticism of society... they've been criticizing it all along without even watching the news?

2. [+267, -17] Fatty tryhard

3. [+206, -7] They say the dumbest are the bravest;;

    i mean he basically did
he just sugarcoated the fuck out of it

  3. lmao like I said...can't even watch the news once... and playing like this as an adult is so childish, anyway. People actually die like this, it's not a movie thing.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Why would you even post a video like that in the first place...it's not even remotely funny.

  5. 5. [+598, -27] I never saw the IS video either but Swings' video is distasteful even without relation to it. It's vulgar to think that a clip of someone slaughtering another human being is funny in any way. Absolutely agree. It was a stupid and disturbing video to post no matter what else is going on in the world.

I'm sorry but when he gets called a fatty it's too funny.

  7. HE is ignorant all right.

  8. Keep in mind that this is the guy that tweeted disgusting things about gays (in English for all of us to understand) and felt absolutely unapologetic for it

    ReplyDelete
  9. Even without the IS terror video, what he did was just stupid. Many people in the world experienced/experiencing what he did and he still did it. Any normal person wouldn't do that

    ReplyDelete
  10. I wouldn't even call it a "stupid" move.. that was intentional douchebaggery. How the hell is human slaughter funny? DOUCHE

    good point!

  14. Lol so much bullshit. All of a sudden after a very recent beheading, you got randomly inspired by noir films to do an execution video? GTFO here Swings (and anyone else who actually believes this cruddy excuse).

    ReplyDelete
  15. The world is filled with such whiny, bitchy little children dear God. Get the hell over it. You guys must be a lot of fun at parties.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Lmao ignorance my ass. He was well aware of what he was doing. This man-child is insufferable; never liked him.

    ReplyDelete
  17. It wasn't funny to most, including me but he posted it because it was his SNS and he has the right to do what he wants lol.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love swings, I mean he's hella funny, but he's being stupid nowadays like dude shut up already pls. your image is already down the drain and its going to go deeper six feet under everytime you open your mouth,

    ReplyDelete
  19. Honestly, when I first saw the video I only saw the everyday antics of diabolical Giriboy and his bitches: the rest of Just music. This maybe highly unpopular, I know and understand but when I read the previous article I actually thought they mentioned that it was a parody of Da3esh etc. That said he just shouldn't have posted a video of it. People were offended. Period. It also doesn't help that his opinions and thoughts on certain topics are shitty.

To be clear I understand the offensiveness of this.

    ReplyDelete
  20. He never says sorry lol

    ReplyDelete
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if he is ignorant. Ever since working, i have met sooo many people who don't know obvious stuff (well, at least obvious to me).
For example, a colleague of mine who's 20 have NO IDEA that downloading music online is ILLEGAL. I mean, come on now...artists produce the songs with their money to MAKE MONEY...with their copyrights...But apparently she was a bit ignorant on that...

I've seen multiple idols make videos like that though, maybe not in the exact scene but plenty of people have imitated "death" sequences. I wonder what the difference is? OOOOH OMG he's a fat rapper and not a handsome flowerboy oppar. y'all need to chill.

    ReplyDelete
  24. He looks like that annoying guy in roommate.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm so bored of him. Like is anyone surprised?

    ReplyDelete
  26. "diabolical Giriboy and his bitches: the rest of Just music."

    lmfao

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wonder if anyone thought it was funny, even himself and his friends. Like, the video was just 16 seconds of awkward motion of somebody pretending to kill 2 people.

    ReplyDelete
  28. How old is he? I thought he was in his 30s?

    ReplyDelete
  29. idrk whats going on but apparently theres a video or whatnot according to the knetz that makes this a lot worse than it would be normally? either way i find it annoying how ppl use te "oppar" thing to make idol fans look bad. whether hes an idol or a rapper this was wrong to do

and this is comig from me a major swings fan

    ReplyDelete
  30. even if there's no recent ISIS terrorism, what he did was rude and extremely distasteful.

  32. Without these comment section, I wouldn't know about this execution video I dont use instagram or read the news.

    ReplyDelete
  33. [+267, -17] Fatty tryhard

Sounds like a good stage name to me

    ReplyDelete
  34. tbh i didnt find this that bad too, but they mentioned a video idk about so who knows. and also especially after the eunbi rise news going all over, death is a pretty sensitive topic for ppl :c

    ReplyDelete
  35. well imo there is a huge diff b/w acting out a death scene mostly on v shows (also I haven't seen any in years now) and uploading on his personal SNS and "execution" vid that resembles the terrorist ones especially after the recent terrorism news. (bad humor + bad timing) And commenter # 1 from second article is right, how the hell does he not know about it?

    ReplyDelete
  36. i lov masta wu omg i didnt know him before smtm but now hes the bae

i want to say this also :s even its very mean.
but this video is proofed that he don't use his brain -_-

PLEASE JUST ADMIT IT AND SAY SORRY.
    AS EASY AS THAT.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Pretty much what I suspected and said in the other article; people jumping to conclusions and always wanting to link things to tragic events.

    ReplyDelete
  41. i remember one time i looked up my rapper name and i was "C Diggie AKA Force Sauce"

    ReplyDelete
  42. His skin is so smooooooothhhhh.. Damn I am so jealous.. 😒😒😒

    ReplyDelete
  43. this comment is so irrelevant bUT IKR OMG why do both native korean men and women have perfect skin like im korean why cant i have that

    ReplyDelete
  44. You may not know this but there are TONS of ignorant people who doesn't even bother to look around and see what's happening to the world.

    ReplyDelete
  45. not really since he's a public figure.. and even if it wasn't a celeb, vids like this stir a lot of sh*t on the internet.. him being a celeb just makes it worse

    ReplyDelete
  46. Why did you do something that is not even funny at the first place??

    ReplyDelete
  47. 1. [+1,332, -181] Just don't bother coming out again. Had you tried this overseas, there'd be a gun to your head already.
nah probably not though. people adopt a very boys will be boys attitude when faced with things like this. a lot of people keep saying no one would actually do something like this but i don't think you've seen really dumb boys around pools... or each other. (i'm not saying it's ok or it wasn't insensitive or anything like that btw, don't take my words as something they aren't)

    ReplyDelete
  48. 5. [+598, -27] I never saw the IS video either but Swings' video is distasteful even without relation to it. It's vulgar to think that a clip of someone slaughtering another human being is funny in any way.

    Yes and

    1. [+275, -14] How does he not watch the news often enough to not know about the IS terror? Rappers are known for their criticism of society... they've been criticizing it all along without even watching the news?

    yes.

    ReplyDelete
  49. but tbh hes an artist before being a celeb, so imo being a "public figure" (i hope children dont look up to him) isnt realy that relevant idk quack

    ReplyDelete
  50. I read the news and I also didn't connect the two. I never watched the execution videos (and I don't want to), so maybe there's a connection there. I won't assume it was definitely intentional, but they do look ignorant. I don't like Swings anyways though. In the end they were right to apologize, since it obviously triggered many people.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Guys! Recommend me some good BB creams and CC creams.. Please

    ReplyDelete
  52. Being a "public figure" doesn't necessarily mean that you are a role model or something. It means that people's eyes are on him. He's a celeb, he has fans, and journalists are always keeping an eye on him. So it may be his SNS and he could do whatever he wants, but there is higher chance of him offending people while doing that because he's a celebrity.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Skin Food sells really good BB Cream

    ReplyDelete
  54. Regardless of whether he keeps up with current events, that video is just offensive. Period. I don't understand how anyone can think it's "funny" to depict someone being slaughtered.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't know why he'd thought it would be funny.

    ReplyDelete
  56. PR talk: It wasn't my fault; I don't watch the news ya know
But hey, he apologized and he is now reflecting (sadly, for a day or two ) and enjoying the attention and the new street cred.
    Asshole remains unbothered.
    Sigh, I love Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Red orange jelly bb is the best I ever tried from skinfood 😄

    ReplyDelete
  58. Whether he is a public figure or just your average Joe, he has a right to express his views. And we have a right to find it distasteful, and quiet frankly, a bit disturbing that someone would find humor in the murder of another human being.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Is it necessary to call him "fat"? Not good. Tell him he was wrong and thats it ;/

    ReplyDelete
  60. If Giriboy was standing behind them with a cloth covering his face and knife in his hands where he then proceeds to decapitate them and act out himself holding on two to heads. I would understand the connection without even the verbal mention and I would say that that crosses the line because it becomes mockery and lessens from the severity of such an act and to some it's news.

The execution topic itself is a sensitive topic but people just made the correlation to the most relevant issue right now. Let's be honest we've all played shooting games and have even institutionalized (communication wise) virtually shooting oneself with a gun as sign based slang for 'I am over this situation and No'

    ReplyDelete
  61. I felt uncomfortable watching that video

    ReplyDelete
  62. Stupidity has no limit ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    ReplyDelete
  63. yeah he has the right to do what he wants and people have the right to call him out for his stupidity.

Kids who learn about freedom of speech but never bother to learn there is a price for that freedom whether you want it or not.

  64. My favorite is actually from Holika Holika. All the Skin Food ones I've tried have been too sheer.

    ReplyDelete
  65. He is generalizing all IDOLS can't rap! #Attentionseekerasshole

    ReplyDelete
  66. I cannot even begin to imagine the horror, fear, and desperation that went through tha innocent reporter'a head as he was about to be beheaded....to make a joke out of something so devastating and tragic is unbelievable to me...

    ReplyDelete
  67. cuz hes acting like a 8 years old boy playing. even if he is a full grown adult who should start thinking about building a family and contributing to the society.

    ReplyDelete
  68. yes he did... he did for fun, i know guys be crazy & sometimes we went way overboard with our jokes especially around our closes friends.. if im posting this on my acct, my fren probably laugh & said why u still here are u ghost & making jokes while old adult will probaly ask me to delete cuz its harmful(my mum, relative has unsta & follow me... since then my insta is rte 13) but he is a public figure.. posting online abt violence jokes showing tht u shuld he a respectful but instead u show urself a dumbass. thts why ppl comment he is stupid & dumbass... this is real justin bieber... now he need to go to japan & took photo at the ww2 temple... hahahaha ok thats a joke no offense. lets i said he a public figure especially in koreaa... anyway this proof he is popular cuz if nugu did this nobody cares

    ReplyDelete
  69. Moon Swings, if he was younger than 16, I could somewhat understand his ignorance, but he is 27 years old lmao. Grow up dude, not just old.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Holika is good too, aqua petit jelly bb is great.. But most of the bb creams are not for me, I have oily skin and they only last for like a two-three hours..

    ReplyDelete
  71. The first thing I thought of when I saw it in gif form was gangster films... when people brought up ISIS, I could see how they got to that conclusion with the extensive media coverage recently, but it wasn't what came to mind for me at first.

  72. IntenseFeelings_UglySobbingSeptember 10, 2014 at 11:01 PM

When you're a celebrity, you need to be aware and careful about what you say, do, and post. He should know that.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The fact that he even thought a "joke" like that was funny proves that hes a piece of shit. Personal SNS or not what he did was still plain ignorant and rude.

    ReplyDelete
  74. i was on vacation last month and i was shocked by how many people around me didn't know about current events aside from local happenings. if not for the fact that i checked my twitter and fb often, i wouldn't have known about a lot of the things that went down in august (like the Ferguson situation for example)

    ReplyDelete
  75. So basically bad timing?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Yeah I have oily skin too, so I can't do bb creams in the summer, all my makeup melts off. Once the weather cools, I have had pretty good luck with a few different bb creams. There are some powder pact foundation type products I use in the summer, but I've not found a really great one yet.

    ReplyDelete
  77. By the way that video was set up, he seemed very knowledgeable to me.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Oh please...you believe that crock of shit?!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I read his translated apology on Koreaboo and although it was still dumb, I don't think as badly of him as before. It reminds me of all those times we see boys playing gun games and 'killing' each other. Of course he was immature to do it but to his credit I found his apology to be sincere.

    Full apology:. http://blog.koreaboo.com/post/97173101863/swings-leaves-long-apology-for-controversial-execution

    ReplyDelete
  80. i would judge even a normal person for this, famous or not

    ReplyDelete
  81. Social Media is an online public community. Yes, the account is yours, but it's like shouting in a public place where even people who don't know you personally and might be offended by your thoughts and opinions can hear you clearly. That video might be funny to him and his friends, but those kind of things are better shared only with people you know and not everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  82. That's your response? Really. Side eyeing so much rn.

    ReplyDelete
  83. You can say and do whatever you want but you should be prepared to bear the consequence. You can be harmful, stupid and ignorant. It's freedom of speech and there is no official limite most of the time. But yeah he was dumb for doing it

    ReplyDelete
  84. Not surprised really after I found out he was a homophobic shit, it was about time he said/did something stupid lmao

    ReplyDelete
  85. Cushion? Cushion is trending these days. But i have oily skin, and bb cream doesn't have enough shade for my skin. So for light make up, i use cushion, but for i still love foundation

    ReplyDelete
  86. tbh everyone knows how much of a tryhard moon swings is. he tries so hard to act tough but once shit like this happens he uploads an "apology" like this.
he is disgusting, ignorant, and distasteful.

HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW ABOUT THE ISIS VIDEO LIKE HOW YOU LIVE ON THIS EARTH DO YOU NOT? OR ARE YOU TOO BUSY DRINKING TOO MUCH TO EVEN GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE REST OF THE WORLD. take your nasty ass and go educate yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  87. This whole thing just pissed me off. I know not everyone keeps up with world news, but come on...this was on a whole other level of distasteful. Either that or he has a sick sense of timing.

    ReplyDelete
  88. i love how people post about 'freedom of speech' . . . . the whole world isn't america. and the truth is, he ISNT speaking his mind. anyone that is speaking their mind won't back track and apologize for doing it. so he was just be ignorant and stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  89. yeah, exactly. he's getting the consequences of a bad reputation for it.
he had the right to do what he wants but that doesn't mean it's right to or that he should.
