Article: 3 broadcast channels bring back varieties and dramas... comedy shows + music shows undecided

1. [+352, -20] Whether a variety, comedy, or music show, why can't people be allowed to mourn while watching what they want... It's been two weeks already, this is too much.

2. [+339, -8] Why are variety shows okay but not comedy shows...

3. [+310, -7] I don't understand why variety is okay but music isn't

4. [+228, -8] They can't keep maintaing this depression... Bring back variety shows so people can laugh again ㅠ

5. [+52, -5] Just bring back all of the shows. The harder it is, the more we should try to laugh.

6. [+48, -2] Even when parents pass away, the mourning period is 3-5 days... Although the sorrow in your heart lasts a long time, it's time to go back to our daily lives. Our hearts are heavy... but we've done enough. Bring back all of the TV shows.

7. [+38, -1] Just bring everything back to normal... you can turn on special or urgent reports as needed. So depressing, especially with this rain.. ㅠㅠ

8. [+39, -4] The mourning is less even when parents pass away...

1. [+76, -1] Just because varieties and dramas are coming back and there is less and less talk about the Sewol Ferry on the news doesn't mean we will forget about the crimes that were committed. The people responsible must be punished. Many lives were sacrificed due to the mistake of adults...

2. [+16, -1] They shouldn't have let this go on for so long. I watched 'Good Morning Korea' this morning and the panelists were wearing bright colored clothing talking about the flower festival in Goyang while smiling... Does that mean they've forgotten about the Sewol Ferry and aren't mourning? No, of course not. Lives must go on. Viewer ratings went up for Animal Farm and Surprise. People are tired of mourning. Bring back all of the shows.

3. [+11, -1] The living must live. We cannot be mourning forever. Everyone in the broadcast field has an income to bring home and families to feed. Do people not work when sad? It's past the time already.

  2. I was actually wondering when people would consider it to be OK to stop mourning already. (Well, not really "stop mourning", but at least go back to the normal cycle.)

  3. Agree with all the comments. What happened is a tragedy, but we still have our lives to live. Watching variety shows, dramas etc, doesn't mean that we don't care.

Exactly. The sinking of the Sewol Ferry is a tragedy that I think Koreans will never forget, but you can't mourn forever. Once again RIP to all the victims and I hope that captain gets what he deserves.

  6. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if music shows and comedy shows don't resume until late May or the beginning of June.

  7. If we lengthen the mourning period any longer, many of us will fall into depression. Sometimes, we have to try to move on.

  9. they also have to take into consideration all the production staff who are essentially being forced to take a hiatus without pay.. you can't just say "hey we're too busy mourning. who cares about the fact that some people need to work to feed their family"

  11. The best cure to sadness is smile.
The whole nation is depressed because of this. This incident is a tragedy but talking about this all day long won't resolve anything but increase the sadness of people...

  14. I think it's time for everything to start airing again I mean they could at least release some tension or sadness by watching comedy shows or variety shows. Laughter is the best medicine after all. Doesn't mean when they enjoy what they're watching on tv makes them ignoring what is currently happening, doesn't mean they are ignorant and selfish towards the victims but everyone has to move on.. Excessive mourning do nothing good. It's so gloomy in Korea right now like come on already...
