Article: 'Avengers 2' filming in Korea, hectic talk of the town with complaints

1. [+6,114, -121] Let's see how many minutes of screentime Korea gets

2. [+4,286, -390] There definitely were uncomfortable aspects and I don't get why people who complain about it are treated like low class citizens.

3. [+3,164, -320] We never know when we're going to get another opportunbity like this so why not make the most of it. It's a movie worth investing, especially since it's a movie with huge impact in the scene.

4. [+433, -58] Just because the movie was shot in Seoul doesn't mean anything because it's going to be CG-fied in the final product and people won't even know that it's Seoul. Seoul isn't even a major part of the movie so how is it going to raise awareness about Korea and promote tourism? Anyone would be crazy to want to come to Korea after seeing 10~20 minutes of it in a movie. Do you all want to go to New York after seeing Avengers 1?? It's like we're all crazed about getting foreign attention.

5. [+419, -48] We will not be getting any promotional benefits for Korea out of this. In the eyes of foreigners, they won't even realize that what they're seeing is Korea. Just be glad if the movie doesn't portray Korea as some third world country living in fear of North Korea.

6. [+364, -53] Korea might not even make it to the final movie ㅋ The Captain shot alone, that explains everything ㅋㅋ

7. [+300, -17] It's good that Korea's being promoted at all but don't expect any tourism out of it. There's nothing in Korea for tourists to see other than Jeju Island... We're not like Europe where we've preserved our older buildings. It's just all cement.

8. [+204, -4] It'd be awesome if a foreign film portrayed Korea positively but ㅋㅋㅋ maybe because of all this media fuss about it, I feel like Korea's overreacting about everything... like, an American film is coming to our country! Everyone shut up and do as they say!

9. [+237, -78] Imagine we go through all this and we get little screentime in the end...

10. [+156, -8] Korea's image will be back to square one if they use Korea for some North Korean rebel fighting in the South or something like that...;;;;;;;

11. [+141, -16] What's important about this is that American films for so long have only filmed the beat up, non-modern aspects of Korea to show that America is superior than any other country. Any scenes involving Asia look so outdated and countrified. The fact that the movie shot in Gangnam during the day might show most Americans (70% probably don't even know where Korea is) that Korea isn't all that poor or behind..
